Lucy Ansley wasn't feeling well, so Elaine Ruane had the kitchen quickly prepare some light and refreshing cold dishes.
The family gathered around the table, and the atmosphere was harmonious and joyful.
Lucy took a bite of the dish, which had a bit of minced ginger, and perhaps it was psychological, but she suddenly felt a bit nauseous.
The taste of ginger was strong, but she neither hated nor particularly liked it.
Usually, even if she ate it, she wouldn't react this way.
At this moment, a mild wave of nausea rose in her stomach. She could suppress it, but she couldn't help frowning.
"Anna?" Elaine, watching Lucy since she sat down, finally noticed her frown and swallowing motion. Her heart raced with a strange excitement. "Are you feeling nauseous?"
All eyes at the table turned to her.
This comment sounded odd. Why would one be so happy about Lucy's nausea?
Anyone not knowing might think the wicked mother-in-law had poisoned her.
