"I didn't!" Hugh Ronan stated firmly, his handsome face carrying a trace of indistinct complexity. Pulling Wendy Wayne in front, his voice was low and suppressed, "There won't be in the future either, except for you."
Wendy Wayne looked up and met his eyes, was that a promise?!
She no longer feigned nonchalance, nudging the cabinet door next to them with her toe, "Then why don't you hurry up and get rid of those things?"
Hugh Ronan was still holding her arm, "Not angry anymore?"
"I was never angry, go eat, I need to brew some tea."
Hugh Ronan sighed in relief, bent down to take out a flashy box from the cabinet, and threw it into the trash.
He kept looking back at Wendy Wayne every few steps, seeing that she indeed wasn't affected, he felt a bit more relaxed.
