In the evening, Bertha Haines went directly to Nancy Norris's room. Upon meeting, she dispensed with small talk and went straight to the point.
"What are you scheming now!"
Nancy Norris, dressed in pajamas, sat alluringly on the sofa, her eyes casting a hint of hatred towards Bertha Haines.
"What else can I scheme? Naturally... seeking revenge, ensuring you don't have a good time."
Bertha knew she came for her specifically, first spreading rumors that they were a pair of close-knit sisters, then putting on an act in front of others, only to backstab her behind the scenes, trying to ruin her 'persona.'
Of course, this was merely her speculation.
Perhaps, the trap set by this woman was even more malicious than she imagined.
Although the script of the drama was still in the table reading stage and filming hadn't officially begun, she really liked the script and didn't intend to quit. Plus, she didn't want to pay any breach of contract penalties.
