Bertha had just transferred the money, and the other party sent her a message.
"Are you coming over... or should I go over?"
Even though the voice message had been converted to text, Bertha still felt guilty. She sneaked a glance at Mia beside her, who was busy eating and hadn't even looked her way; only then did she take her phone and head to her room.
"Can't you stop thinking about this all day and night!"
Amos Smith: "I only think about it at night, no time during the day."
Bertha didn't want to engage with him anymore, she thought about blocking him, but he hadn't taken the money.
Soon after, the doorbell rang.
Mia looked at Bertha, who said, "Ignore it!"
She thought Amos wouldn't insist too long, guessing that if she didn't open the door, he would return to his own room. But unexpectedly, the doorbell kept ringing non-stop.
Bertha suddenly felt like moving out.
But she also knew that no matter where she moved, he would always find a way to become her neighbor.
