She dreamed of her arduous climb up the mountain, struggling to pick the most beautiful flower at the peak, but a slip of her foot prevented her from touching the blossom and sent her rolling down.
Then she dreamed again of struggling in past hatreds.
Dreamed of Godfery Shaw and Julius Shaw, both looking at her.
Julius Shaw knelt before her, imploring her, forbidding her from leaving him.
Godfery Shaw said sorrowfully, "Nancy, goodbye."
"Ah!" Nancy Allen screamed as she woke up.
She awoke at an unknown time, gasping for air like a fish deprived of oxygen.
Outside, it was dark; it must have been a dream, all that had happened before must be a dream!
Nancy saw the person beside her, looked at the face she liked, unable to discern who it was, unable to distinguish between dream and reality.
