Chapter One - Seo Minjae POV :

The karaoke speakers were blasting loud enough to rattle the walls, but all I could hear was the insistent vibration of my phone against the table.

Of course it was her.

Baek Yuna.

My girlfriend... technically.

She'd been texting nonstop: Are you okay? Did I do something wrong? Are you mad?

She didn't deserve any of this.

I locked the screen with a tired exhale. She was gentle - too gentle for a man like me. Compared to the girls I usually dated, she was painfully ordinary. Short hair, simple clothes, a soft voice that never rose too loud. Shy touches, hesitant smiles. Nothing striking. Nothing memorable.

Maybe that was why I ended up with her. Maybe I was craving something quiet for once.

But calm gets boring fast.

Han Solah rested her head on my shoulder - tall, confident, breathtaking. Everything Yuna wasn't. She smirked.

"Oppa, I'm tired... want to go to your place?"

Already?

Well... if she wanted me, I wasn't going to say no.

"Sure," I said, offering the lazy smile she liked. "Let's go."

I didn't bother checking Yuna's messages again.

The car ride was silent except for Solah's hand trailing boldly along my thigh. Every now and then she threw me a teasing glance, the kind that promised trouble.

We pulled up to my high budget appartement in Cheongdam. She arched an eyebrow, impressed.

"Your place better be worth it," she teased.

"It is." I said .

The elevator doors slid shut, and the moment we were alone, she was on me. Her lips grazed my neck, biting lightly, hands slipping beneath my shirt with practiced confidence. A low groan escaped me as heat rolled through my body.

Ding.

My floor.

She didn't stop - her mouth tracing my skin again as she whispered:

"Let me see your room, Oppa."

Her boldness was addictive.

I opened the door with my own code . As always, the apartment greeted us with its sleek perfection: floor‑to‑ceiling windows overlooking the night city, black marble floors, golden accents, minimalist furniture arranged with precision.

Solah's eyes widened.

"Minjae... wow. I didn't know you were this extra."

I smirked and led her to the bedroom.

Black walls. Dark sheets. Soft, intimate lighting. A room designed to impress... and dominate.

She shoved me onto the bed and swung a leg over my lap. Her mouth found my neck again, biting, teasing, claiming. Her fingers slipped under my shirt and pushed it off me completely.

Slowly, with deliberate confidence, she slid her dress off her body. She stood before me in a black bra and panties - bold, unapologetic, devastatingly sexy.

I reached for her instinctively, hands tracing her curves as our lips collided again. City lights spilled through the windows, painting gold along her skin, the sheets, the furniture - everything glowing around us.

Then-

A faint click at the door.

I froze.

Only two people knew the passcode: me and her ...

Soft footsteps.

Shaky.

Heartbroken.

The door opened.

Yuna.

Small. Trembling. Tears streaming silently down her cheeks. Her hands flew to her mouth, muffling a broken sound. She looked like a girl whose world had just shattered at her feet.

I swallowed hard.

"Yuna-wait-"

Solah tightened her grip on my wrist, pinning me down. She leaned in, biting my neck sharply as she whispered:

"Don't look at her. Ignore her. She's leaving anyway."

Yuna blinked, stunned in place - then ran.

I ripped my arm out of Solah's hold.

"Don't touch me."

The streets outside were chaos. Yuna sprinted blindly, shoulders shaking, arms wrapped around herself. Car horns blared, brakes screamed.

"YUNA! WAIT! PLEASE!"

She didn't slow down.

She didn't see the traffic.

A truck barreled toward her.

"YUNA!!"

She froze - just for a heartbeat - but thank God, she jumped out of the way at the last second. Relief crashed into me so hard I nearly dropped to my knees.

But I didn't even have time to breathe.

I ran toward her, heart slamming against my ribs-

Then-

BAM.

A car came out of nowhere and crashed into me.

Pain exploded through every nerve. My vision blurred red. I couldn't move. I could only hear distant voices, see shadows rushing toward me.

Do I deserve this?

Probably. I was a cheater. A liar. A playboy.

"My God... she didn't get hurt... thank God," I whispered, choking on the pain.

And with the last breath I had left, I murmured:

"If I had time... I promise I'd make your life better... Baek Yuna..."

Then everything went dark.
