Nancy Allen, after waking up again, no longer reacted with the same intense emotions as before.
She opened her eyes and saw Julius Shaw, then turned her head away and closed her eyes again.
She lay motionless, her mind filled with the image of Godfery Shaw saying goodbye.
She was still in the Imperial Garden, and Julius Shaw stayed by her side every day. Had Godfery Shaw left?
Nancy Allen dared not think further; when she did, the anguish was overwhelming. She allowed her thoughts to drift into chaos, her whole being caught in a haze.

Julius Shaw's rationality was worn away by Nancy Allen's seemingly lifeless silence.
He became increasingly violent, his words and actions more perilous.
