Chapter 5 - CHAPTER THREE [DEMI ANGEL]

Honor was five years old when he was taught about celestial beings and the existence of the eternal ones. His favorite story was about the war on Apolon and his eternal sentence to hades. He would run to his grandma anytime he had problems with heavy words.

"Grandma, can you pronounce this?" Honor pointed at a word in his story book with his soft little fingers.

"Oh! That would be liberty", Mrs. Sharoh replied. Honor was very cute and handsome; indeed, he was a gift from Mercy to her parents. He was their only grandchild from Mercy. They were indeed sad but grateful.

"It's better to have one than none", Mrs. Sharoh always told herself. Honor had chocolate complexion with an Innocent face and soft cheeks. When he smiled, his deep thick dimples appear at both cheeks. Intellectually, honor was quite smart. As he grew older, he had already won several academic competitions at a younger age. As he grew older, he won several academic competitions. At age sixteen, he was already studying college mathematics and textbooks relating to neurology and medical science courses. He was impeccable in all ramification but he had only one problem. It was a psychological one. It was a thought and trauma of growing up without his knowing parents. Grandma and grandpa tried every possible means to cover the empty void but it wasn't just enough. Every time he asked about them, they would typically provide the same answer they have been telling him for the past sixteen years of his life.

"I told you Honor. They died in a fatal car accident", Mrs. Sharon would tell him, sad and heartbroken as it opened her up to the past again. He would notice it and regret asking.

"Honor why are you still sleeping? I thought I woke you up?" Mrs. Sharoh barged into his room again. Honor sluggishly came down from the bed with sleepy eyes.

"Good morning grandma", he whispered, rubbing his eyes.

"Good morning to you too. How was your night?" She replied, still standing at the door.

"Fine", Honor replied. "I have prepared a shower for you. Go have your bath and run downstairs quickly or you will be late for school", She stormed out. Honor too matched to the bathroom and a few minutes later came out refreshed and fully awake. He drained out his wet hair with his towel as he got ready for school. After putting on his uniform, he ran downstairs to the delicious aroma he was perceiving. Mrs. Sharoh had made breakfast quickly that morning. She made spaghetti with meatballs and carrots. She also filled her grandson's lunchbox with spaghetti and enough meatballs so he wouldn't get hungry at school. Honor always detested carrying a lunch box to school at sixteen but grandma kept on putting it which he ended up carrying. After getting the table set, she rang her husband's pet name to get him downstairs. Mr. Henry came downstairs, ready for work. For some reason he tried out his new blue tuxedo suits worth half a million naira. He also tried out his new Camillo's black designer shoe that matched perfectly with his tuxedo. On his left wrist was his resting Rolex watch. He also had his briefcase cuffed up to his right hand.

"Hey darling, you are looking very refreshing, tasty and corporate today", Mrs. Sharoh planted a kiss on her husband. Honor joined them downstairs at the dining table ready for school.

"Grandma, quit your drama and help me with breakfast", Honor said, weary of the constant love drama between these two couples. He smiled as grandma gave him an in-between annoyed and happy look.

"Sit down and wait for me", She voiced out and focused her attention back on her lover. "There's only one missing piece my love", Mrs. Sharoh beamed smiles at her husband. Mr. Henry looked around him to be sure he was complete. He gave up shortly after.

"Your tie darling", She gently pulled his tie and it loosened. Of course! Mr. Henry never knew how to knot a tie and he never cared to learn. Why bother when you have a beautiful wife who takes pleasure in doing Justice to the god damn tie.

"What's wrong with the previous knotting?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"Oh that?" That's garbage", She responded. "Let's give you a better knot".

"Do your magic my dear..."

"Grandparents, I will be late for school, don't you reckon?" Honor interrupted once again.

"Oops! Sorry my dear. Take some loaves of bread in the refrigerator and have at it with your fried eggs on the plates", Mrs. Sharoh replied, twisting and interlocking as she perfected the

knot.

"Perfecto!" She added, satisfied with herself. She moved to the kitchen and later emerged with a jug of hot water for tea.

"I want spaghetti ", Honor objected.

"Spaghetti is for your lunch at school my dear. I've already put it in your lunch...."

"You know I hate carrying a lunchbox to school. Why can't I just eat the spaghetti now. I mean..."

"No spaghetti for you until lunch. Its final", Mrs. sharoh wagged a finger at him. She looked pissed suddenly. Then she gave a warm smile quickly. Honor didn't like it at all but he knew her answer was final. He frowned as he quickly settled down to eat. Mr. Henry settled down to eat too, not without first uncuffing his briefcase. He gave a mocking smile to his grandson who was

angrily spreading butter over his bread.

"Psst!" Mr. Henry called out at Honor. Honor gave an annoyed look with a raised eyebrow. He watched as his granddad intentionally twisted his spaghetti on his fork and devoured it slowly. After some minutes, both were done with their food and stood up in unison. Mr. Henry looked at his watch in horror. It was past 8 o'clock. Today was supposed to be the biggest day of his life as he was meeting the board of directors of big powerful companies. He had won a long-awaited contract worth millions of naira at last and he wasn't going to lose it easily over his late coming. Mr. Henry slapped his briefcase cuffs once again as he rose. Honor ran to the refrigerator and took out his soya milk drink he left in the refrigerator as Mr. Henry exchanged goodbyes with his wife. He got rid of the cork and drained the whole liquid drink down his throat. He quickly ran after his granddad who stepped out of the house and got into the car. With one last wave at grandma, he got into the car too and they drove off.

Honor waved at his grandpa as he drove away. He slowly walked into the school building. Nobody was outside, not even teachers. He knew damn well he was in trouble for coming late. He stood in front of his classroom terrified. He could hear her voice. The voice of his worst nightmare. Mrs. Helen. Just last week, Mrs. Helen had given him the whooping of his life in front of the entire grade 10 classroom for late coming. How embarrassed he felt when everyone was laughing at him for almost crying. She had promised to even make it bitter for him if he ever came late again. Flogging was legal in a country like Nigeria. Most times he wished you were born in the European countries where you do not even attempt to hit a child or face jail term. With trembling hands, Honor pushed the door open and stepped in. The "err - err - err" cracking door noise interrupted Mrs. Helen's teaching. She spun around to face the intruder. Honor's classmates turned to face him too.

"Why are you late?" she asked angrily. Honor took a quick glance at his classmates and back at her angry face. He could tell she was pissed off by his presence. If eyes were guns, he was sure he would be dead. Honor stared at the ground afterwards with no reply, completely embarrassed.

"Am I not talking to someone?" she asked again, her voice rising.

"I'm so sorry. I woke up.... very.... late", he stuttered.

"Shut up! Why can't you wake up early? What are your parents for?" She fired at him quickly. Honor froze at the mention of his parents. He felt his blood give a quick pump through his veins and his heart missed a beat. Everyone in school knew he was an orphan. Mrs. Helen wanted to hurt him and she knew exactly how to.

"Are your parents that lazy? Okay let's say you don't have one. What about your grandparents? What do they...."

"Shut up", Honor said quietly with his head bowed to the ground. Tears filled his eyes.

"What did you say just now?" Mrs. Helen's eyes widened in disbelief.

"I said shut... up!!" Honor screamed. A strong wind suddenly crashed at the

windows, sending them flying in scattered pieces. Noises and screams rose from the students as sudden panic gripped them.

"Don't speak of my parents", Honor's body shook uncontrollably. His eyes began glowing white. Mrs. Helen took a step back in horror. More screaming erupted from the students after Honor's eyes began glowing. Honor could feel electrifying energy flow through his body. Little Sparks came off his body in unison. The bright sky turned dark with thunder roaring over the sky.

"What are you?....Get away from me you witch!" She screamed, taking more steps back until she was against the wall.

"You don't know how it feels to grow up without even knowing who your parents are. I watch how all the other students get dropped off at school by their parents and it hurts", He spoke with tears as he faced the class. His classmates paid more attention to his looks rather than what he was actually saying. On the other hand, Mrs. Helen was listening with both fear and tears. His words had pierced her deeply. She wanted to give him a hug but not in this world was she ever going to approach such a thing.

"It is you who is a witch! You are a wicked woman who doesn't care about anyone but herself", Honor yelled out and a lightning from above slipped through the thick clouds and struck her. She fell down and blacked out. More screams erupted. Honor was now terrified and quickly fled the classroom.

"I'm so sorry for being late", Mr. Henry said, looking around him. "I'm afraid it was unavoidable", he added. He quickly settled down in his chair. He noticed every CEO of major companies were already present. He smiled as he spotted the CEO of Masters energy plants, one of the biggest energy plants in Nigeria.

"Well gentlemen, we can now begin", Jessica Eke said. She was the secretary to Prince Eze Michael, CEO of Dangote cements. She moved to Mr. Henry and handed him a file.

"You are up", She smiled and whispered to him. Mr. Henry received the information with a smile and stood up. He spoke to the board of CEOs for quite a long time and laid out his plans to them effectively.

"We have fifty-two branches in the whole of South Africa. We are hoping to open twenty-five in Nigeria this year", a deep voice spoke when Mr. Henry opened the floor for suggestions after he was done speaking. Mr. Henry recognized it as that of Prince Eze Michael and smiled.

"I can do that effectively if you give me a go-ahead order", Mr. Henry replied.

"How many branches do you need, Mr. Henry?" Prince asked. He was an old friend and classmate to Mr. Henry. They had run into each other at business summit in London and had exchanged contacts. Prince had promised to get back to Mr. Henry and even give him a contract if he was pleased with his business proposals.

"Five branches will be enough for me to handle", Mr. Henry replied. Prince read his friend's desperate eyes and nodded in agreement.

"Five branches it is. Don't let me down", Prince said. A document was passed around for every CEO to sign. Everyone signed including Prince.

"We have a deal", Prince said, handing the document file back to Mr. Henry. They exchanged handshakes as everyone exited the room. Mr. Henry settled back in his chair after he was left alone.

"This is getting interesting", Mr. Henry smiled to himself.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

His mind was racing, blood was boiling with hot tears swinging down his cheeks. With every step he took, he let out a curse and reminded himself he was dreaming. His mind reflected on the damage he caused to the metal door he punched downstairs as he ran away. The door had ripped out of its hinges and had a disturbing molded shape of fist on its body. He also doubted for a second that he was behind the lightning strike on Mrs. Helen and also the strong wind that ran through the windows as he let out a scream.

''No no no! This can't be happening'', Honor said, holding his head. He felt his head was about to detonate in seconds as he continued walking. He finally came to a stop in front of the school canteen and sat down on the bench. He quickly took out his lunchbox and had a go at grandma's spaghetti. He had almost finished eating when the bell rang for break time. Students flooded out of their classrooms and moved to the canteen where Honor was. Amongst them, was a huge boy Honor greatly despised. He was Honor's nightmare. It was Daniel, the school bully, yelling and shouting as he approached Honor, his friends and a large crowd of students following behind. Mrs. Helen was unfortunately Daniel's mother. That could explain why Daniel was mad. Word had gotten out that Honor insulted and used voodoo on his mother. He wasn't going to let it slide by, not after seeing the terrible state his mother was in after being rushed to the hospital. Daniel was going to beat Honor and he felt even more justified to do so. He was a troublemaker who often got away with causing a lot of trouble because his mom was a teacher. He was very huge for someone in grade 10 with beards already popping out from his jaw. He was nowhere smart because he had repeated a class three good times. That really explains why he was the oldest student in the school. No one really liked Daniel, especially the intelligent students like Honor, who usually got bullied for being too smart. Honor had tried avoiding the big guy this academic session and it was going smoothly. Eventually luck ran out on him today. At this moment, Honor wasn't scared of anyone, not even the eternal ones.

"What did you do to my mum you freak?!!" Daniels' words could be heard as he was closing the gap between them.

"Get lost!! I don't want to talk to anybody", Honor stood up to leave. Daniel dragged his hand and gave him an uppercut to his jaw quickly and smoothly. Honor was sent rolling to the ground roughly. Students started screaming and cheering in excitement.

"She deserved it!!! I hope she doesn't recover", Honor smiled as he quickly got back up. Daniel got more infuriated and gave him a roundhouse kick. He fell to the ground again. Daniel grabbed him by his neck and smashed his face against the metal bench. Honor screamed in pain. His vision became blurry as he staggered back to his feet. Streams of blood swirled down his forehead and down his face. Honor got infuriated at the sight of his blood and charged at Daniel. Daniel was athletic with built muscles and speed because he easily caught Honor by his wrist again and gave him a blow to his stomach. More screams. Blows after blows found their way to his face as the crowd cheered on. His face was swollen and his uniform drenched in thick blood. Teachers were on standby and refused to intervene after what he did to one of their own. The rumor of Honor using voodoo had instilled fear on them and the news had spread like wildfire around the school.

"Daniel Stop it!!! That's enough. Do you want to kill him?" Chris shouted and ran to intervene but got tackled to the ground by Daniel's friends.

"Are you defending a freak too?" Daniel shouted and was ordered by his friends to beat him. They began pounding on him too. Chris was friends with Honor. They had gotten admitted into the school together and happened to be the wealthiest in the school. Chris was present during the event in the classroom and witnessed the whole thing.

"Don't ever call my mother a witch!" Daniel jacked Honor with both hands in the air. "You are the witch and freak that killed yours", Daniel added, spitting at him. Daniel was enjoying this so well because students around started chanting his name. Tears rolled down Honor's eyes.

"Mommy....Daddy", Honor whispered.

"You don't have one. They are all dead and you killed them. You hear me? You killed them all!!!!!!...."

Honor grabbed Daniel's arm and squeezed it while in the air. Daniel screamed as his bone popped out his skin. He let go of Honor and knelt down in pain as blood gushed out. Honor's eyes glowed white again as he stepped towards Daniel. He threw his hands in the air.

"O heavens", his voice became deep and echoed. As he spoke, the sky turned dark once again, with lightning running through the clouds. Every student began running away with screams and fear.

"I made a pact with you. Let thine Angel receive the spare of light to extinguish my enemies", Honor's voice spoke aloud as he began to levitate. Daniel scrambled to get up out of fear. "Let the lock of hell bind thine hands and feet as I bring judgement on you", Honor quickly said. Red hot chains sprouted out of the ground and bonded Daniel's hands and feet. He let out a yell as it burned right into his body.

"Let my judgement be just and let righteousness proceed", Honor said. He let out a scream as thick black angelic wings grew out of his back. They began to flap against each other gently. A rod of lightning emerged out of the thin air and he grabbed it. Electricity and fire flowed through it as it charged itself, ready to devour its prey. Daniel screamed in fear and trembled as Honor pointed it at him.

"Be extinguished!!!" Honor said calmly. The rod breathed out fire at its victim for a few seconds. Daniel's scream as his body engulfed in flames. Seconds later his scream died off. All that was revealed after the flames extinguished was a broken skeleton and the terrible scent of burning flesh. The ground around the deceased was covered with cooling lava. The spare light quickly disappeared. A few seconds after observing the empty canteen surrounding, he flew away.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Mrs. Sharoh read in between the lines of the letter. When she finished, she folded it back neatly and placed it on the table. She took a deep breath, ran her fingers through her hair and surveyed the folded letter on the table. She had gotten a message from her husband titled "code red" on her smart phone an hour ago. She quickly panicked as she was never prepared for this day. The day when Honor will learn about his superhuman powers. Twenty-five years ago, an angelic baby crashed in their garden. You could tell she was an angel because she had wings and was radiating pure light that could almost blind you instantly. Besides the angelic baby, was a mature and large angel of about 8 feet. Mr. and Mrs. Henry were both terrified and panicking but were told to remain calm by the angel's still peaceful voice.

"You have been chosen to parent this angel. Her mission is to grow in this human world and gather every bit of data she can of the evils of it", the angel spoke. His voice brought chills to their body as they both knelt down against their will simultaneously. "She is not to mingle with the affairs of man as she is pure and holy. She would also be without supernatural strength as she would be living amongst humans. When her time is ripe, she will be taken back". He concluded. They both watched as her wings disappeared and the radiating light on her dimmed down. The angel handed the baby to them.

"Her name will be Mercy as the eternal ones wish to show mercy to mankind", he concluded and was caught up in the skies. They had heeded the angel and raised her up as theirs. Mercy grew into a young fine woman with angelic genes. Never did she fall sick for once. She had already completed her assignments on earth at age 25 and was ready to go until the worst had happened. She had fallen in love with a human and had mingled in the affairs of the human world. She refused to heed the warning of the other angels who visited her and went on the way to rebellion. Her parents had failed the commandments of the angel and were about to be slaughtered when mercy was granted from the eternal ones. Shateniah, the evil one, had enticed her into falling in love with a human. To punish her, the eternal ones broke the restraint on humans and they did evil against her, laid with her and had her carry their seed. It was until then; she knew what harm she had committed and became fully aware she was about to bring a Demi angel to this human world. This was indeed the highest form of abomination. Such a child would be a curse to mankind and would wreak havoc on their world. She would also die after giving birth and would be chained down to the everlasting pit as a fallen angel. Irrespective of this, Mercy would still love her unborn cursed child to the last and would teach her parents some angelic spells to put him down whenever he went rogue. Amongst such spells, was the spell to erase memories. Never did Mrs. Sharoh think the day would come when they had to use one. Code Red was simply an alarm in case of such an event. Mr. Henry moved swiftly into action and rushed to Honor's school. There was a crowd already gathering. From the car, he let out the spell that dispelled everyone and erased their memories. He had walked into the school and found the corpse and the destruction Honor had inflicted on the buildings. He took the corpse and buried it somewhere inside a Forest. He had found Honor earlier at home, blacked out when he came home. He used the same spell on him and wiped off his memory. He then took his grandson to the hospital to get stitched up where he had a cut on his forehead. On the way home, after Honor had recovered and was awake, he made him believe he got into a school fight and was suspended. Mr. Henry had earlier called his wife when they were at the hospital, and made her write a suspension letter addressed to Honor in order to leave no stones unturned and have a story convincing and legitimate story to tell Honor. The thought that Honor had bereaved a human being was frightening to him. Fear suddenly started knocking on his heart.

What if he turned against us? Would he eventually turn out to be the downfall of humanity? Mr. Henry thought as these questions were popping at his head. He had called his wife some minutes ago to let her know they were on their way home from the hospital. Mrs. Sharoh got reminded of her surroundings as the sound of hooting car horn and opening gates shot at her ears. She had carefully practiced her reaction a few minutes ago. This was not going to flop, not on her watch. Honor entered the sitting room with his grandfather. His swollen face could tell it all. He was all wrapped up in bandages and held unto his granddad for support as he limped. His blood-stained clothes were gotten rid of and he had a clean T-shirt on him. You couldn't tell he got into a bad fight with those clean clothes he wore, only his swollen and bruised face gave him away.

"How are you feeling Honor?" Mrs. Sharoh ran to hug him. She took her time to hug him gently as he was in excruciating pains.

"I'm alright", He murmured.

"Sorry?" She raised an eyeball for an explanation.

"Grandad said I blacked out from a fight I had in school. I had insulted a teacher and got attacked by a group of boys for it".

"What were you thinking?"

"What do you mean?" He rolled his eyes.

"You literally insulted your teacher. How could you do that?"

"She started it. They all started it. I lost control and tried to attack her. Maybe I deserve this", Honor said. Mr. Henry grabbed a letter on the table.

"Here we go again with suspension letters. What is wrong with you Honor?? One minute I'm in my office and the next I heard you were about to die", Mr. Henry paced around the room with the letter. He was amazed at how quick and clean his wife's handwriting was. Everything was going as they planned.

"Honor, that lady you insulted is old enough to be your mother..."

"But she isn't. That woman is nothing compared to my mother. Mrs. Helen insulted her and said some really horrible stuff about her. I couldn't just help it....", Honor's voice trailed off, tears weighing up in his eyeballs.

"Your mother loved you very much", Mr. Henry said. She's in the pit because of you! Mr. Henry thought. He could vividly remember the angels reading out her judgement.

"I feel I'm different from everybody", Honor settled down into a chair. Mrs. Sharoh's heart skipped. Has the spell not worked?

"Why do I get this feeling that you are both lying and not telling me the truth!!" Honor added. Mr. and Mrs. Henry both stared at each other. How long would they keep their grandson in the dark? Would they be able to tell him that his mother was an angel who was defiled by evil men and bore an abomination carrying both human and angelic genes, such which should never happen. Since his birth, the spiritual and physical realm had indeed merged together and paranormal activities have been taking place. Mrs. Sharoh left the living room and came back a few minutes ago with another envelope.

"This is the eighth and final letter from your mother. You will find every answer you are looking for within", She handed it to him. It was time he knew the whole truth. The letter felt heavy in Honor's hands. It felt very strange to him as it was translucent and emitting light from within. As he opened it, he felt electric shock flow through his body and a sense of peace coming from the letter. Honor felt some heavy secret was about to be revealed soon. With curiosity running through his mind, he finally brought out the letter from the envelope. It began with his name. Now Honor understood where the light was coming from. It was coming from the words itself which was illuminating. It read thus.

Honor your heart is full of love and peace. Wherever you go, I'll be with you and I will live in your heart forever and ever. I'm so sorry for how this life treated you badly. It wasn't planned this way. Be a good boy and take care of grandma and grandpa. Don't get into fights, stay healthy and remember to engage in productive exercises. Promise mummy that whatever happens, you will forgive your father. Even though he has done worse, forgive him. This is my last dying wish, my little angel.

Mummy

8 October, 2015.

Honor folded the letter the moment he was done.

"Who is my father? What happened to my mother?" He fired at them.

"Well...." Mrs. Sharoh heard herself shiver. She looked at her husband and nodded his head in agreement. "I'll tell you everything", She said.

The old priest gave a smile that stretched at both ends of his lips as soon as he saw Chibuike. Chibuike had the same clerical clothing as he did. Over the months, he had embarked on a spiritual training with the priest and had all learnt about the lady he sexually abused. By defiling an angel, he had given the evil ones access to his soul through the dream realm. That could explain the endless nightmares and paranormal activities happening to him throughout. Also knowing he had a son out there who could be a destructive force to mankind, was a nightmare to him every second. He had chosen the mission to find him and put an end to him or face the wrath of the eternal ones. He had to be taught the ways of the angels in order to repel the evil ones. He got to his Knees in front of the old priest, beside him was his travelling bag. The old priest stretched out his hands to him and spoke in an ancient language, known only to angels. Chibuike understood them too because he was taught.

"In the name of the eternal ones, let your reins of power and righteousness guide your servant whom thine has chosen. Rise!! Rise Minister Chibuike, the one who shall be the end to the curse", the priest said. Chibuike slowly got up, his eyes glowing white. He could witness the holy angels surrounding him, their flaming swords right above his head. A rush of pure energy flowed from the crown of his head to the sole of his foot.

"Your journey indeed is a blessed one", they all said in unison with echoing voices.

"Indeed, it is", Chibuike replied as they began vanishing.

"You will face challenges on the way but you have been taught to overcome"

"I will overcome. I will correct my mistakes", Chibuike said, locking up his travelling bag and facing back the old priest.

"Minister Chibuike".

"Yes"

"If it will cost you your life, would you give it up?"

No response.

"I've been asked this question before. And I'll give the same answer as I did", Chibuike broke the silence.

"My life indeed has no worth. Not after learning of my actions and the consequences. I live only now to correct mistakes and if giving up my life in the process can correct that....", His voice trailed off. "So be it. I have nothing to lose", he concluded.

"My mission is done if that's the case. Remember you are a minister and we are ministering spirits sent to help ministers like yourself in times of need", the old priest said and transformed to his angelic form. Chibuike didn't flinch this time around. Heavy cloths of golden armory with orbs of lights covered the angel. He gave a smile and disappeared.

Honor stared at his grandparents with tears filled eyes.

"My father abandoned me ...right after I was born??" He coughed back tears he didn't want to cry. Mrs. Sharoh couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth yet. Midway of letting the cat out of the bag, she totally rejected the idea and fed him a tray of lies at the very last second. She could read her husband's surprised and composed expression.

"We are sorry. Our daughter died of a heart break after he left", He reassured Honor again, backing his wife's lies. He understood her fears of Honor sparking out like he did in school today. Also, it wasn't necessary to let him know yet, especially not after running around today to clear the track and erase the mind of everyone in school and Mrs. Helen too. He felt bad when he erased her dead son from her mind and convinced her that she never had any son, only daughters. He could feel the guilt as the spell effectively went ahead to erase that of her family members and friends. Burying the dead body was the worst of all. Never had he seen anything devastating and disgusting at the same time. Some part of the skeleton had ranging flesh on it while the rest had already started disintegrating into dust already. He tried convincing himself that his grandson wasn't responsible for such a brutal act.

"I'm sorry. We wanted you to know at the right time", Mr. Henry said. Everywhere was silent apart from Honor's silent sobbing and tick-tock-tick-tock from the wall clock. Seconds later, he broke the silence and ran to the backyard where the gravesite was. Mrs. Sharoh attempted to go get him but her husband stopped her midway.

"Let him be for now", Mr. Henry said.
