Audrey's POV
Light. They was finally light shining in the darkness that enveloped her. Hope, yes hope that one day, soon she'll finally reunite with Dean.
An unfortunate incident ruined her entire life, just a single moment, like a drop of black ink in a clear water. Days when she felt real happiness, when she had nothing to worry about, when he was by her side. Memories opening up like dried wound threatening to turn fresh again. All she felt was emptiness and pain, she felt like a hollow drum.
Eight months of her life wasted, both school and work life. Spent days and nights wallowing and grieving over him, while he used those eight months to make himself stronger. Loosing him, was ripping a part of her heart, because the pain in her chest felt so real, internally bleeding.
Hope was lost, but now it's found. Was given a seed and now she'll grow a tree
It took Audrey 5 months to gain control over her body, some part of her body was temporarily paralyzed due to the lack of food and water in her system.
She got so used to not taking anything she had to force herself to start eating again, and had to do a lot of exercise to gain weight and stability.
After few months of eating healthier and nutritional diet, she got her energy and her shape back, but she wasn't able to get her thick body back. She started using skincare products to help her skin and appearance, lack of self care and hygiene spoil her skin, so much patches, acne and eczema.
She also had bags and dark circles.
A year gone by and she was finally back to normal, She got a new look, a slim thick figure. Due to being badly malnourished, it affected her system costing her- her hair. Her once curly long hair, started breaking and started falling off. Leaving her with a scanty yet full scalp, so she decided to get dreads. Through her recuperation stage, she grew her dreads. And with her healthy diet and self care, her hair grew back longer than ever. To give a little touch she dyed the tip a dark shade of maroon.
"Dean, very soon", she said with a smile, looking at what she had become in the mirror. She never thought it could be possible to get back what she lost, but with faith and determination she was better than ever.
All was left was education. She was done with her first year, she even had the certificate. If not for this incident, she would be in her third year. She started looking for good universities in a different city, she couldn't go back to her old one. What would she do if she saw Luca again, even tho it wasn't fully his fault, the memories wouldn't let her down easily.
Stakelake city, the city Preston had given her a house in, moving to a new place wasn't going to be hard. She needed a new environment, meet new people, a whole change. After a few days search, she finally got a school that agreed she could start at second year and not to far from her home.
She packed up all the things she needed, cleaned up the house. Since she wouldn't be living here for a while, she gave it up for rent, and at an affordable prices. At least to sustain her before she gets a stable job, prestons money wouldn't last for ever.
Before she left, she called her friends, well Preston and his friends. They met, to clear things up. When Susan saw Audrey, she didn't wait, she ran to her with tears.
"Where have you been, I thought something bad had happened", she sobbed embracing Audrey tightly.
"I'm so sorry I made you worry, I was going through al-".
"And you couldn't call out to any of us, I thought we were your friends",Rylie caught in
"I'm just glad you're alright", Preston said he hands folded.
"Yh me too", Clifford added.
Susan finally pulled back, guageing Audrey from head to toe. "You've really changed, or would I say grown up".
"Life happened", Audrey laughed.
"Well guys, I'm moving to stakelake city. I was able to again an admission at a school there as well", Audrey said looking down at her fingers then back up at them. "I'll miss you guys".
"Don't worry my love, ill always find a way to visit. I am so happy for you", Susan said hugging Audrey again this time much softer
"Yeah us to, don't forget to call"Clifford said, his hand around Rylie's shoulder. Such a beautiful couple, still together after this long, Audrey smiled.
She could finally leave everything behind, made peace with her friends. Finally had peace of mind. She was finally starting a new beginning, hopefully it would be filled with joy and wonders.
"Stakelake city, here I come".
