Deadpool just couldn't shut up. His mouth was a nonstop chatterbox.
Thor was about to lose it. He had never seen anyone talk this much. He used to think Peter was already annoyingly chatty, but now he truly understood—there's always someone more annoying out there.
The others were getting headaches from the constant noise.
On the other side, Billy Butcher—who had a rugged, rough look, somewhat resembling Logan—glared at Deadpool with deadly eyes.
"Shut the bloody hell up or I'll blow your dick off, shove it down your throat, and make you choke on your own balls."
"Whoa, whoa!" Deadpool was thrilled. Finally, someone playing along!
He immediately bent over, sticking his butt out toward Billy, humming provocatively, "Now we're talking! Come on then, sugarplum—I'll show you moves that'll make your ass clap, your brain short-circuit, and your soul call me daddy. Guaranteed to leave you moaning my name in six languages."
As soon as the two opened their mouths, it was just an endless stream of censored words. Just listening to their friendly banter was enough to conjure up R-rated scenes that could burn your eyeballs.
Hughie, standing beside Billy, wanted to say something but couldn't find the words. Next to him, Annie—the only woman present—looked extremely uncomfortable.
At this point, Thor was on the verge of a breakdown. These guys were seriously driving him mad.
When he saw the screen starting to play the next video, he finally roared, "Shut up! The future footage is starting!"
At last, Billy clammed up. Deadpool, seeing this as a personal victory, grinned smugly.
"Buddy, take my number. Call me anytime—you won't regret it, I promise. I'll blow your mind…"
He shot off one last jab before turning his attention to the screen.
Onscreen, a barren desert stretched endlessly beneath a blazing sun. A bald, emaciated man was walking with difficulty, cradling a young girl in his arms as they trudged through the wasteland.
They looked terrible. Their lips were cracked and parched—clearly suffering from extreme dehydration.
Eventually, their strength gave out and they collapsed to the ground. The man knelt, praying fervently to the sky.
"Oh great god Rapu, we pray to you. Please, grant us food and water… I ask not for myself, but for my daughter."
His little girl was scribbling something on a nearby rock, probably as part of their prayer ritual.
The man kept bowing, but there was no response from above. A sandstorm rolled in. With their last bit of strength, he and his daughter huddled behind a rock, embracing each other.
No one knew how much time had passed. Their skin was scorched and peeling from heat and dehydration.
The girl, nestled in her father's arms, whispered weakly, "I… I'm so tired…" and then closed her eyes forever.
The bald man was overwhelmed with grief, but he couldn't even cry—his body was too dry. He used the last of his strength to dig a small, crude grave and bury his daughter. Then he lay beside it, ready to await death himself.
Outside the screen, Stephen muttered solemnly, "Pitiful… and ignorant." He turned to Thor.
"I thought you said this was our future? Who is this about?"
Thor shook his head. "No idea. Keep watching…"
Back in the video, the bald man seemed to hear something calling out to him. He staggered to his feet and stumbled toward the voice.
Soon, he reached a lush oasis.
Birdsong filled the air, flowers bloomed, greenery was everywhere, and a crystal-clear stream trickled invitingly.
The man wasted no time—he dove into the water, letting it rehydrate him, reviving his strength.
Climbing ashore, he saw ripe fruit and crawled over eagerly. Along the way, his hand accidentally got cut by a black sword lying in the grass—but strangely, the wound healed instantly.
Too famished to care, he grabbed a melon and started devouring it.
"Ah, look who's stuffing his face with my food."
A tall man wearing a golden crown sat lazily on the grass, also munching on fruit.
The bald man looked up and froze. Then, overwhelmed with emotion, he knelt down.
"O God Rapu, God of Light, I am Gorr, your last follower. We've lost everything, my Lord. The land is barren, life has vanished. We never wavered in our faith, and now at last… we receive your eternal reward."
His face lit up with joy. For a devout believer, what could be more glorious than entering the divine realm promised by their god?
But Rapu just laughed, mockingly.
"He thinks there's an eternal reward? Hahaha…"
The entire oasis echoed his laughter. Gorr, not understanding, laughed along—until realization dawned. They were laughing at him.
He looked confused, not knowing what he'd said wrong.
Rapu, finally done laughing, glared down at him.
"No, sorry. There's no eternal reward for you, mutt. We're celebrating—just defeated the wielder of the Necrosword. He had the audacity to threaten my empire!"
Only then did Gorr notice a dark corpse lying behind him—and the very sword that had nicked him earlier.
Still kneeling, Gorr looked up with pleading eyes.
"My Lord… your empire has already fallen. No one worships you anymore."
Rapu didn't care.
"More will come to replace you. They always do."
Gorr's voice trembled with pain.
"We starved. We suffered… my daughter died under your so-called protection…"
His tone finally irked the god.
"That's right," Rapu sneered. "Suffering is your only purpose. You are nothing but death and dust!"
Gorr stared in disbelief. The god he had worshipped his whole life had just spat on everything he believed in.
Tearing the holy pendant from his neck, Gorr growled,
"You're no god. I renounce you."
Gods could abandon their followers, treating them like ants. But for a follower to abandon their god? That was blasphemy—a crime punishable by death.
Infuriated, Rapu lunged forward, grabbing Gorr by the throat and lifting him effortlessly into the air.
"You see?" he said coldly. "Your meaningless life does have a purpose after all… To die for me."
