Chapter 5 - It's Almost Time

"Alright, okay."

Robin stood in front of a full-body mirror, looking at the outfit he was wearing.

"I need something cool, like, a suit... but not just a suit. Like, a cool one. The coolest one!" He said as he pressed the button on his shirt.

He was trying to find the most perfect outfit to go with this mission. But it had been about an hour. On the other hand, he didn't realize that Joe was there since he started to 'change' outfits.

"Sir...?" Joe had to call him out.

"Oh, it's you, Joe! How long have you been standing there?" Robin replied while looking at Joe's reflection in the mirror.

"An... An hour? Since you clicked on that button for the first time today?" Joe said, shrugging.

"An hour? Are you sure? I've been standing here, looking for the perfect outfit for... AN HOUR?" Robin gasped, blinking his eyes.

"Yes, I'm very sure, sir. If I could count, you've been changing over 100 outfits just in an hour... But it's fine, keep going until you've found the one." Joe said, trying to be supportive.

"I'm getting tired. Seems like the button didn't do any work at all." Robin sighed.

"Didn't do any work? At all? Then, what about those over 100 outfits you 'changed' to just now? Come on, sir, whatever you wear is perfect for you. These outfits are made for you." Joe said calmly as he sat on a stool beside Robin.

"Alright, Joe. Thanks. But... let me just press this button just for... another three times." Robin said as he kept pressing the button. Poor button...

"There's no rush, sir." Joe said, smiling.

. . .

"Have you found out about the seven diamonds, sir? Perhaps you can slowly learn about them." Joe said casually while they were walking around the city.

Robin didn't say anything. It seemed like something wandered in his mind.

"Mr. Adams? What's on your mind? Are you okay?" Joe tried to get the other man's attention.

"Oh, yeah, yeah. Sorry. Just kinda have doubts about this mission. I'm afraid I couldn't do it..." Robin said, sighing slowly.

"Sir, what is there to be afraid of? It's okay to feel like this but we're still in the beginning of this. But as time goes by, I'm sure whatever we do will be just fine. Believe in yourself, sir." Joe said calmly, looking at his master.

"Thanks, Joe. You're right. We can do this, alright?" Robin's eyes lit up and smiled widely. "You're a good partner, Joe."

"That's my job, sir. Now, let's find out about these diamonds. I heard each of them has a superpower. And as for now, they're in bad hands, so, we better hurry and find those as soon as possible before they actually get to control these diamonds." Joe explained.

"What? They can control these diamonds? That sounds insane and dangerous..." Robin couldn't believe what he had heard from Joe.

"Yes. When they have reached a certain amount of time with the diamonds, they're powerful enough to control and manipulate the diamonds with their own intentions." Joe said as he looked around. He found out a tall, serious-looking man in a blue shiny suit was staring at them in the distance. It was suspicious.

Joe just shook his head and didn't say anything to his master.

"But I don't think they're more powerful than the diamonds, though. To reach that point where they can control them, it takes a lot of efforts and strength." Robin said, shrugging. As he walked, another man in blue accidentally bumped into him and the watch, Ticky that he had been keeping in his pocket fell onto the ground.

The other man picked Ticky up and stared at it, "Sorry, you dropped your... watch." He said, looking at Robin and gave the watch back to him.

Joe was jolted by the sight of the man in blue, the man who he caught was staring at them just now. Who is this guy? He was just so far away seconds ago and now, he's here?, Joe thought to himself.

"Oh, thank you, kind sir." Robin said and took the watch from the unknown man.

"You look kind of... different. You're not from here, are you?" The man kept on talking.

"Oh... You can tell? Yeah, definitely not from here." Robin replied casually.

"Sorry to interrupt, sir, but we're in a rush. We'll have to go now." Joe chimed in and nodded his head to the man. He then led his master to walk away quickly.

Joe didn't feel good about the man. As he walked away, he turned to look at the man in blue but he suddenly disappeared.

"Let's go home, sir. I need to tell you something in private."

. . .

"What's the matter, Joe? Now that we're home, tell me."

"The man that bumped into you just now in the streets, remember?"

"Yeah, he has a funny-looking moustache... That's what I remember the most about him. And also... blue suit!"

"Yes, that one, sir. You know what? I found him staring at us in the distance literally ten seconds before he bumped into you. Doesn't that sound weird to you? He was so far away from us."

"He stared at us? Why? It seems like we're kind of like... his target?"

"I'm not sure, sir. But it's just bizzare that he could switch places in seconds... My guts are telling me he's related to those diamonds. And I took a look at him after we walked away, he actually disappeared..."

"No way, Joe. Do you think it'll be that easy for us to catch one of the culprits?"

"But it's not impossible, right?"

Joe looked at Robin, waiting for his reaction.

"Right. We can keep him in mind. From what I've learned, one of the diamonds is related to teleportation... Whoever has it can travel or switch places in no time. It sounds like that guy just now. But we can't say anything for sure. We'll investigate more, shall we?" Robin said, interacting with Ticky.

"Certainly, sir." Joe agreed. They both started to look deeper on the details for the first diamond.

. . .

"Is this magic? How can Ticky still work? I dropped it by accident just now when I made contact with that man." Robin said, shrugging.

"Ticky is designed to be tough, sir. It's unbreakable. I think that man intentionally made you drop it like it's going to be broken, so that you can't find information about the diamonds. Sounds like it, right? But I don't want to make assumptions. But it sounds kind of right, sir." Joe said, looking at Ticky.

"Huh... Sounds about right. This man... We got to be careful around the city. When we actually have enough information about the man, we know exactly what to do." Robin said, nodding his head.
