Chapter 19 - You hurt me

"Nessy! Nessy! Wait!" Geb cried to Nessy, but she didn't seem to listen as she just walked out of her office into the restroom, closing the door firmly behind her.

He understood very well that she was pained and jealous, even without reading her mind. But for some reason, he felt glad. Glad that his consort was jealous about another woman throwing herself at him. He felt very happy and convinced that she truly loved him. Yet, this wasn't the time to celebrate. He still needed to handle Nut if he wanted to swim in the ocean of his consort's love.

"Nut, I am not in the mood for this. Please just go and get back to our time, before you make matters worse for me," Geb said, looking at Nut in frustration.

"How can you ask me to go, Geb? It's me, your Nut, your love, your goddess of sky and beauty. What happened to us? Why are you giving me this attitude?" Nut said through tears. She couldn't believe that her Geb couldn't recognize her anymore—or maybe he simply didn't want her anymore. No, that couldn't be. She couldn't let Geb forsake and reject her like that. He was hers and hers forever.

"Geb, look at me. It's Nut, your Nut. Please don't do this to me. What has come over you?" Nut shook Geb profusely, her eyes desperate.

"Leave me alone, Nut," Geb said with fury, throwing off her hands. "You are not and will never be mine. You're the reason I'm no longer in my abode, now back in our time and enjoying the worship of mortals. You are the reason Father used the ancient hourglass to spellbind me to this time—this present Egypt, the 21st century. I lost my glory as a god, all because of your stupid love." He fired the words at her, pained by the fact that he lost everything due to his lust for Nut. Now he saw the wrong in their actions and regretted it all.

Nut couldn't believe her ears. Geb was really blaming her for everything that had happened. Was he aware of all the sacrifices she'd made for their love? Most of all, she had bowed down to a demon—no, the demon god—just to be reunited with him again. And all she got was the blame for their actions.

Immediately, she felt herself lose control as her power and will took over her entire being. Her eyes and hair turned white as she began transforming into her god form.

'Nooo, dammit! What are you doing, Nut? Control yourself,' Aposis/Morsi cursed within him as he saw Nut lose herself. He didn't want this, because he would have to do something that would make Geb find out he was really Aposis—and then be prepared for him.

Geb was terrified too. He knew Nut wouldn't hurt him, but she would definitely hurt, or worse, kill everyone in the building. He thought fast, and just as he was about to hug her and teleport her out of the company, his head began to spin and he felt dizzy. He tried to resist the darkness, but it overwhelmed him, and he fell unconscious to the floor.

#### In the Restroom

Nessy rushed immediately to the sink as soon as she entered the restroom. She had heard Geb calling after her but couldn't answer; her emotions refused to let her. She opened the tap and sprinkled water on her face. She was trying to stop crying but couldn't. She couldn't understand why it hurt so much—another woman touching Geb and calling him hers. Her heart ached.

Just when she thought she had finally found the one, someone she could call hers and hers alone, the pain struck deeper.

She finished washing her face and stared at her reflection. Her eyes were already red from crying, and as if that weren't enough, she recalled Nut's lips locked on Geb's—a painful memory—and started crying again, uncontrollably. She leaned against the wall, letting herself slip to the floor, not minding if it was dirty. She drew her knees to her chest and hugged herself tightly, crying her eyes out.

This was all new to her. She had never fallen for anyone before, nor had she agreed to her feelings for someone. 'Oh my goodness, this hurts so bad,' she whispered to herself through her tears.

Still battling her emotions, she suddenly heard a loud noise from her office. She wondered what it could be. She listened carefully and heard rumbling sounds; the whole floor was shaking.

'What's going on? Is this an earthquake or what?' Nessy thought, fear gripping her as she held onto the sink to steady herself.

Suddenly, the rumbling stopped—just as if magic spells were cast.

She wondered what had happened as she rushed out of the restroom to find an unconscious Geb lying on the floor. Fear gripped her immediately.

"Geb! Geb! Wake up!" she screamed, shaking him violently, her eyes wide with terror. "Geb, wake up, please! Don't die on me!"

Just then her secretary rushed into the office. "Ma'am, we heard noises from your office. Is everything okay?" she asked, worried.

"No, Haggai," Nessy replied, voice sharp. "Everything is *not* okay. Call an ambulance immediately! Don't you see someone is dying, and you still have the guts to ask me if all is fine?" She snapped in frustration.

Haggai hurried to her desk to carry out the order as Nessy left Geb alone.

"Geb, please don't do this to me. Wake up and tell me what happened," she cried, still shaking him hard.

"Ma'am, I have called an ambulance. They'll be here soon," Haggai said, trying to comfort her as she left, knowing her services wouldn't be needed again until called.

Nessy held Geb firmly in her arms, shaking him hard to wake him. A thought struck her: 'CPR. That's my only chance.'

But there was one problem—she didn't know how to perform it.

"Haggai!" she called out in desperation.

"Yes, ma'am?" Haggai responded politely.

"Do you know how to give CPR?" Nessy asked, her eyes searching for answers in Haggai's brown orbs.

"Yes, ma'am," Haggai said confidently.

"Tell me how," Nessy ordered.

"Okay, ma'am. First, check for breathing. If they're not breathing, start CPR," she explained.

"He's definitely not breathing, Haggai! So tell me how to do CPR!" Nessy yelled, frustration worsening.

"Okay, ma'am," Haggai began carefully. "Perform 30 chest compressions, then give two rescue breaths after the compressions."

"How do I give rescue breaths?" Nessy asked, eyes desperate.

"Pinch his nose and breathe into his mouth," Haggai replied.

"Is that all?" Nessy asked bluntly.

"Yes, ma'am," Haggai confirmed.

"You may leave," Nessy said in a calmer tone.

As soon as Haggai left, Nessy didn't waste a second. She began CPR immediately, unwilling to lose Geb—wondering if he was even still alive, but hoping he was and would be fine.

She laid him on the floor, raising his head slightly. She started chest compressions with all her might. She was already breathing hard and tired, but she never thought of stopping to rest—even when she felt like breaking down.

"28, 29, 30," she counted, pinching his nose and breathing into his mouth. He didn't move at all, increasing her worry, but she forced herself to calm down and relax before trying again.

She took deep breaths in and out, then began compressions again. Afterward, she breathed into his mouth once more, tears flowing down her cheeks as they entered his mouth.

"Please, Geb, please wake up," she cried, continuing the CPR.

After the eighth or ninth time breathing into him—she lost count—he finally woke. He coughed loudly and breathed hard, his eyes darting around searching for one person: his consort. There she was, lying beside him.

"You look so tired and worn out. Did anyone hurt you? Just say their names and I'll make them pay," he said worriedly, cupping her face.

"Did Nut hurt you? Or maybe that Morsi? Baby, please talk to me," Geb said, shaking her gently, his voice full of love and care.

Nessy whispered, trembling, "You hurt me..."
