It's like I am at the forest, the fog is making the ambiance feels heavy.
I am wandering around, trying to look around me because this is unfamiliar to me.
But I still manage to walk around the forest. And I saw a woman with red eyes. We have the same eye color, her eyes almost looks exactly as mine.
That surprises me, why there's someone that is same eye as mine. Does it mean, she is from the north? Like my mother.
"You can turn off your eye, just calm down." She said and gently caressed my eyes.
"Who are you?" I asked and she just smile at me, showing her eyes and smile again.
She looks calm and trying to calm me down as well, he voice is soothing, like caressing my soul.
"Just someone who is from your land, you don't belong there, continue what your real path is about to give to you, Delaney." Heck, how did she know my name?
My forehead creased, and she is smiling from ear to ear, showing a mesmerizing moves.
Her hair, is almost same as mine. Why? I mean I know that it's rare to find someone who looked exactly as my hair and my eye color, that's why I am kind of surprised right now.
"You're great, like your mother. But remember, don't trust too much, southern people is greedy and they will use you no matter what, learn what happened to your mother." I am about to hold her wrist, when someone called my name, and I look around me.
"Princess Delaney?" I gently opened my eyes, and I looked around me, and it's Lady Criseta, holding my hand and Duke Theron is behind her.
They looked worried, and showed their teary eye on me.
They looked surprised, and I don't know why?
"W-what happened to your eyes?" They asked, and I hold my forehead, it's full of sweats. And it's cold, my sweats. I don't know why my body seems light, unlike the last time before I passed out.
"You're having a fever for straight three days," Lady Criseta said and hugged me tight. Crying at my shoulder and the Duke still looked surprised and looking at me now.
I looked at the vanity mirror, and it's true. My eye color changed, it's violet now! How did it happened? It's the same color as my mother has.
"Why? My eyes are voilet?" I said and can't believe that it's really violet now.
"I don't know how my eyes changed, after three days." I said and keep checking out my eyes, it's beautifu. And if my eye changed, means I can stop using the eye silk, but I don't know if I can still possible to use my ability.
"I will call the sage, to check you out now." Duke Theron said, and I don't know if he looks happy that my eye changed.
It means I am not cursed anymore, I can look at people without eye silk, and lastly. People can see my whole face now.
"The great sage is here, her highness." I looked at the servant, and they opened the door. Azriel eyes fixed on me, he looked surprised either.
The Duke Theron is behind him, and Azriel bowed his head to me. "Your highness, I am about to check you up," he said and I nod after he informed me on what he will gonna do to me.
I took a deep breath and he start to check me, I closed my eyes and didn't look around me now. But upon checking me out, my head hurts and gently opened my eyes. It's red, my eyes. Because I accidentally looked at the vanity mirror, but when something said to me, my eyes turn into violet.
Azriel looks serious right now, until he stopped checking me up.
"Duke Theron, I am not from the north but it seems the princess already passed the curse phase. And now, she can see without eye silk. Because her real eye color is violet, and it's really ability, not a curse. It's just we don't have any knowledge from the people of north." I nod and look at the mirror, what a beautiful violet eyes of mine.
"We need to inform this to the emperor—"
"You cannot, don't tell anybody about my eye color, that this isn't a curse, but a ability of mine. No one can know what happened on me, just tell them that I am sick for three days, because of another attempt." I said and they listened to me carefully.
I don't want them to know that I am alright now, it's better to hide it. My small sacrifices will become enough once that the perfect time has come.
"This is enough for a while, Duke Theron. We need to talk. I have a bad feeling and we need to discuss it before our marriage." He nod and all of the servants bowed their heads.
"Once that I discovered that the news is spread about the condition of princess Delaney, I will behead all of you." The Duke said to his servants, and they keep their head low.
"Understood, Duke Theron." They raised their heads, and Azriel smiled at me.
"You're normal now, but be careful. All eyes on you, stop acting like a fool for the mean time, the emeperor will attack you once again." Azriel left the room, and it's just me and the Duke Theron here.
"We need to talk, and I know that I haven't recovered yet, but you need to hear me out." I started, and he sit there.
"My father will use infidelity this time, to break our engagement. I feel it, and I am sure of it. He will show some proofs and I am waiting him to do that, he will pull some trigger to break us apart." The Duke Theron hold my hand and kissed it.
"My dear, I know and I am aware of it. He will definitely use anything that he can, so he can bring you down, fall us apart. But I know that you are not capable of doing that." I looked away. I actually have a not so clear relationship with Akeldama, but I don't know.
"Just listen to me, I am ready to all of their attemps till the day that our marriage will come. For the mean time, stay here and have a rest. I don't want to see you tired. Okay?" It's a good thing that Duke was aware any of it. But I have a feeling that my father will do anything to fall apart the marriage.
They cannot manipulate me, and I won't let that happen as well.
I already recover, I need to work this time. And there's something that I need to know. And I will do it later night.
The Duke won't allow me to work now, that's why I need to stay here.

I wear the robe and sneak out of my room, this time, I will check the library of the palace. My father never allow me to use the library of palace, for unknown reason. I even asked for books, afters I went back to the empire. But he still insist that I should not set my foot at the library.
That makes me feel suspicious, he even banned the Duke Theron at the library, and close the library after the day that it was being announced that no once can set their foot at the library.
Now, I am on my way there. Will check each of books that I am looking for.
The history of northern people, because my father banned the book from the nothern people. I heard that my mother is really a foreigner, and I want to know what is her real nationality.
Also, the political books that I am finding. Because the books that I have here is from the Duke, but I need the books that is fitted for being an emperor, the knowledge that as an emperor is needed.
There's a lot of book that is available at the library, the next stop that I need to see is the library of royal family.
Because some of the laws books at the public library is just the basics, unlike the law books of the royal family, everything was there.

The books that I need to borrow is a lot. And Lady Criseta is behind me, looking around and looks worried that someone might caught us sneaking at the public library at this time.
"Your highness, the guard might see us here. Can you hurry, or we can go back here tomorrow." She look around and looked tensed now.
I can't help but to roll my eyes. I just gave the books that I choose, and instructed her to go back without me.
"But her highness, I can't leave you here, it's dangerous." I keep wandering off the library to find more books that is useful for my studies.
"Just go, I am fine here. I need more books." I demanded and started to walk around the library.
I left Critesa at the place where I gave my books, and walk around the library. Wandering around and looking for some unfamiliar books that is unfamiliar.
"This one looks nice—"
"What are you doing here, why you're not at your room?" I jumped and dropped the books that I am holding.
I look at the guy who talked behind me, and it's Sir William.
"What the fuck are you doing here, it's midnight and you're still awake?" I asked and he just chuckle.
"It's midnight, and you're still here, do you know that your life is at risk since your family is targeting you?" I just rolled my eyes and continue to pick up the books that I dropped.
"I'm fine, no one will harm me—"
"You're not sure about that, they can harm you anytime," Sir William said and pick up the books and hold it for me.
I bend my knees and I accidentally lost my balance, and too late.
He dropped all the books that he is holding, in order to catch me from falling.
Sir William is looking at my eyes, he looked hypnotized by my eyes right now. I can feel the heaviness at his hand, ans gently caressing my back.
I bit my lips and brush off all of thoughts that I have right now. He's the hero and he is a good man.
"I always stop myself from the time that you set your foot at the empire, but I think, I can't take it anymore." Sir William gently caressed my cheeks, before kissing it.
