The warm sun often made Issei forget about his problems.
"You can gain the world, but they will never help you forget about your trials".
These were words he often reflected on. He could feel a cool breeze blow through his hair as he sat, alone. He looked around to see the rest of the school with their friend groups. He then turns his head to the window.
"They're still out there, fighting" he thought to himself. "I need to fight with them" he then thought as he looked down at his hand, withered from the usage of his talents. Yet still sown together by scarred flesh that no one seemed to bat an eye at.
"Hey Issei!" Asia says as she walks up to him, her innocent smile and green eyes wake him up. He smiles as he turns his head to her.
"You have a free period third block?" She asks as Issei sits back and leans out the window, staring at Rias who's walking to her next class on the campus grounds.
"Yeah, I do" he says in a monotone voice.
"Great, we should hang around the library, come on!"
She pulls on his hand, leading him up the stairs as he willingly follows. He changes his attitude as they get to their table and take a seat. His mind pondered on his battle with Riser. "What kind of place was that, if it wasn't hell?" Issei thought to himself. "Who are her parents? Are humans really down there acting as devils? If the PSD finds out about this all hell will break loose." Issei then looks over to the library exit. "But can I blame them? Human slaves who've never lived among their own kind on planet Earth" Issei thought as he clenched his fist. "They make me sick, every last one of them"
"Why is everything being taken away from me?"
"Issei?" Asia asks, getting his attention.
"Yeah?"
"Is everything alright?"
She asks as Issei gets up, the bell rings and he pushes in his seat. "I'm fine, I just need to think for a minute." But as Issei was about to leave, Asia grabbed his hand. "Issei wait" She says as he turns around. "Please tell me what's going on. Is there anything I can do to help? You don't have to open up or-" Issei interrupts her.
"It's fine, Asia." He says with a smile as Asia lets go. "Things just feel different without those two idiots" Issei sighs. "You guys have been great. I really mean that. It's just, they were my day ones you know. I don't know what I'll do if something happens to them. I don't know what I can do now that school will never be the same." Asia nods as the two walk down the halls for their next class. "I'll see you around" Issei says as the two are about to take turns down separate halls. "Issei, can you just hear me out for a second?" Asia asks as they take one step closer to their departure. With each passing second Asia's heart races to the consequences of what she's about to do. "Issei, this is really hard for me to do, but if I don't say how I feel I might never get the chance."
Issei finds himself stopping at the intersection where they take their respective turns. Asia notices this and looks at Issei weirdly. Issei feels himself hiding his face, grinding his teeth as he tries not to let whatever is inside overwhelm him.
"He's gone, what are you so afraid of?"
Issei heard Iessi speaking from within him.
"She's safe with us now, you don't need to worry about big red anymore."
"You're right"
Issei says to Iessi in his internal mind.
"I can't do that to my friends, it's wrong, it's not what I want anymor-" Issei then looks up at Asia and smiles, but suddenly her lips make contact with his. He pauses, afraid and confused at what's going on when suddenly Asia's blond hair whips around as she walks down the empty hallway. The bells signify the start of class as Asia smiles and walks away. Issei sighs in disappointment.
"It won't bring them back."
"I fought so hard for her, I had to slay people, torture them, destroy demons, I can't lose her from a misunderstanding! What if she saw?!" He says to himself as his head begins to swivel. The walls turn red with blood and Rias's hair comes down from the ceiling.
"You're a real depressing kid, you know that" Iessi spoke as he leaned against the actively bleeding wall.
"This isn't real!" Issei shouted.
"Maybe, maybe not. Who am I to tell?"
Iessi's eyes glow purple and his clothes along with his hair were dark black. He only wore the same red shirt that Issei did. "It's anxiety within you. Comes with having me, it can't tell what's safe and what isn't. It'll do anything for Rias. It's what's necessary for her. I made sure that it would function as so."
Issei turns around and grabs him by the collar. He grits his teeth as his eyes glow green.
"What the hell did you do to me you sick son of a-! Iessi takes his finger and puts it up to Issei's mouth in a quiet sign, of course this was after Issei grabs him by the collar and flips him over onto his back, slamming him into the floor.
"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" He says as his eyes glow purple. "Relax, and just embrace the new you."
"Issei? ISSEI!"
Issei zones in and finds himself grabbing Rodney's shirt. He looks up and finds the six foot tall lad looking down at him with a blank stare. "What are you doing?" Issei asks as he brushes Rodney's hand off and stands up. He looks around for Asia.
"Where did Asia go?" He asks, still holding onto Rodney's shirt as Rodney lets him go. "I don't know. I had to knock some sense into you. I saw Asia running off upset. I don't know what happened but all I saw was you geeking out in the corner there." A moment goes by before Rodney asks "Can you let go of me now, I'm off of you." Issei does so and fixes Rodney's collar while Rodney fixes his tie and looks at Issei strangely.
"Look man you should go talk to her, you let her down pretty hard. She just wanted you to know how much you meant to her. That's all." Rodney then walks away and pats Issei on the back.
"Hang in there buddy, you're good now. Loosen up a little, it's over." He says as he returns to his class. Issei looks around embarrassed as he walks away. "Fuck off" he uttered under his breath. "That's not what happened."
In class Rias looks at Issei as he walks over to his seat. The teacher stares at him aggressively as he enters the class ten minutes late. Issei however ignores him.
"Alright class, guess we're just gonna enter at any time we want. Ah there's my star student, Rias answer the question for me will yeah?"
Rias stands up, following class protocols for when a student is called upon.
"No Rias, take the chalk and write it up here." Rias does as she's told as an awkward energy flows through the class. Rias writes the answer to the formula on the chalkboard as her face cringes. Issei doesn't notice anything as he looks out the window with despair on his mind. Rias walks back to her seat as the class watches with disgust at what took place. All while Issei completely blocks out the present reality. He closes his eyes, thinking about his beatdown with Riser. Every punch, burn, and moment of pain and torture being inflicted upon him. The class resumes without Issei mentally present. \
"Maybe if I open up to her, she'll have a solution" Issei thought. The class bell rings and everyone walks out. Issei does the same when something inside pulls him back. He walks out of the classroom as the bell dismisses them. However, as he steps out the door he pauses.
"Rias, can I talk to you for a second?" The teacher asks as Issei leans against the wall. The teacher closes the door and Issei sees Asia walking out. "Wait, it could just be something about school or her grade. I should go fix things with Asia and not let eaves drop like a weirdo."
He looks over and sees Asia looking away from him, afraid of rejection as she scurries to her next class. "Wait!" Issei said as his voice was lost in the crowd. He curses himself and leans back against the wall, missing the conversation.
"Dammit, now I've wasted my time." He says as the door opens. "Ever since the wedding, things have been going downhill. My father isn't the head of the school, I don't have any power outside the city I grew up in. Dammit, things are becoming a nightmare!"
Rias thought to herself. Then her head turns, she sees Issei right outside the doorway, listening in while unaware of her presence. Her heart beats fast as she puts on a big smile.
"Hey Issei" she says with a warm aura around her. Issei smiles as he waves back.
"Shall we?" Rias asked as the two walked down the hallway away from their calculus class. "So how was your day?" Issei asked Rias. "It was… interesting" she says as she loses her smile. "Same" Issei responded, but not just to try to relate or to sound normal in the conversation. He matched her vibe, down to the exact facial expression. She looked over and saw this, it brought her hope.
"What happened?" She asked as the two left the building.
"Well, we should talk about it later tonight,"
Issei said as they left the school grounds.
"We don't have till tonight, we're investigating an issue. My father, well even though he's just a noble now, requested we still maintain balance in the spiritual world. Things have never been this shaky before."
Issei nods. "Oh, right. How are things going with your family?" Rias pauses for a moment as she feels her face scrounge up. Her eyes water and she leans up against Issei, who is now slightly taller than her as several months have passed.
"I don't know." The two then bump into Asia as they get to their house. "Oh, hey Asia. I thought you were staying after?" Asia pouts as she runs inside the house. "Just leave me be!" She then slams the front door. Issei gives his parents a look, then walks up the stairs to try and check on Asia. "What's up with Asia?" Rias asks Issei.
"Well, that's what I wanted to talk about. Something happened in school, and I don't know how to talk to her without messing up more." Rias shrugs. "Don't worry about it then, here let's just relax in our room. We'll forget about today and rest up, tonight we have someone to catch." Issei nods as the two enter the house. He sits back on his bed as he hears Rias drawing a bath. "Issei?" She asks as he stares up at the ceiling mumbling to himself. "He's not joining me?" she thought to herself as Issei continued to mumble to himself. He then gets up and rubs the scar over his heart, mumbling about his and her teacher. "Issei?" Rias asks concerned as she watches him pace back and forth in his room. He looks at her and pauses for a moment. "Rias?" He then looks out at the moon as it rises, his enhanced vision allowing him to see clearly. "I'll be right back!" he says as he begins to summon his suit of armor.
"No" Rias says as her blue eyes begin to glow. "I'm coming with you."
As the night rose and the day fell Motohama and Matsuda camped outside a building holding a warrant. The two look around as Issei arrives on the scene with the House of Gremory.
"Hey, it's been a while," Matsuda said as he extended his hand. Issei shakes it, the three smiling.
"Hey, so what's the plan? This guy is some kind of bug catcher?" Issei asks as Matsuda nodded. "Yeah he's been releasing a new species of bugs that are harmful to our environment, so in terms of assignments he's kind of a vacation for us.
"Yeah we've had much worse" Motohama adds.
"We're trying to investigate the cause of those devil worms that massacred that rural community the other day. We think this may have something to do with it" Matsuda said. "Maybe, maybe not," Motohama adds. Issei gives them a blank stare as the others get into position. "We figured you'd flush him out with your… gift… and we'll just arrest him. No need for a raid and all that drama. Minimal forces, minimal possibility of casualties." Issei then smiles as he slaps their backs.
"I'll do you two a favor for what you did for me that night"
The two nod as all three smile together. "How come you guys don't take the day off? I heard what happened at that camp. You boys went through a lot." Issei asks as he walks away from the rest of the house of Gremory. "Should we assist?" Yuuto asks. Rias holds out her arm. "No" she says sternly before looking back at them. "I brought you all out here because I was concerned for Issei. We're a team. But now I know what's going on" Rias says, looking at the trio. The others pick up what Rias is putting down.
Matsuda pulls out his arsenal of guns as Motohama pulls out a blade. The three enter the building.
"You see, thousands more are still missing. The centipede event wasn't the main source of these missing victims."
Issei's eyes widened in horror at Motohama's claim.
"Really? What the, wait then what is it? Please tell me you guys know!"
The two shake their heads as they walk up the stairs.
"Not even top clearance knows. And they're freaking out. The PSD formed out of urgency through emergency. We're the national guard of the spiritual world, and right now we have no army. If the public knew this, we'd have a massive panic on our hands."
"Shit" Issei said as a bug flew by Matsuda, causing Matsuda to take his pistol and shoot it. "We're close" Matsuda said as the giant bug bled out. "You guys get light work compared to what Rias gives me." Matsuda laughs. "How is the misses? If you don't mind me changing the subject to something more positive" he asks.
"She's great," Issei says, not smiling. "You're not convincing us," Motohama said with a smile on his face. Issei turns to them and looks down at the ground. He looks at his gauntlet, remembering the feeling of his fingers stabbing through Riser's skin. The feeling of blood splattered across his face and seeping into his eyes. The screams of devils around him as he had Riser on the ground, pumbling him into a pulp of flesh, blood, and bone.
"I'll never forget what I had to go through for her" Issei said as his hand shook. Motohama and Matsuda stood still for a moment, watching their friend in concern. Issei looks up at his friends, saying "the man who caused all of this, was Rias's supposed to be groom." The two boys stood there in silence as Issei turned around, leading the way.
"What happened?" Matsuda asks. He pauses as he and Motohama look into Issei's eyes. They looked back at them like doll eyes. Dull and lifeless, like ashes from a once burning fire. His eyelids lowered slightly, indifferent to the cruelty around him. He takes his hand and grabs a bug that flies by his head, crushing its skull effortlessly.
"I'd do it over again, and that's all you need to know." Issei said sternly.
"Do what?" Motohama asked.
"I descended into Hell to get her back. I showed the enemy mercy and now our kind is at war with evil itself." Issei said.
"What are you talking about?" Motohama asks.
"Yeah, that's your girl man! We'd do much worse!" Matsuda adds. Issei turns around with tears in his eyes.
"They're coming for us all now. If only I just finished the job. If only I just killed him where he stood. We'd all be safer."
"Then why didn't you?" Motohama asks, inquiring as he gets closer to Issei.
"I think it's because I saw a piece of me inside of him. A perverted version of what could have been. Something sinister that-" Issei takes a moment to pause as he opens a door. "I should have killed him. Instead I live with nightmares." Issei says this as he turns his head slightly. Suddenly a man leaps behind Issei and grabs him by the shoulders. He leaps over him while throwing the boy to the ground and runs off.
"HEY WE GOT SOMETHING!" Matsuda yells as he fires his plasma pistol at the suspect. "FREEZE! GET ON THE GROUND!"
Matsuda said as Motohama chased the suspect down with his blade. He dashes in front of the man and swings his blade, missing his target by mere molecules. The man takes advantage of this and takes a step forward, using his foot to trip Motohama and get him too onto the ground. Matsuda and Issei catch up.
"You alright?!"
Issei asks as he helps Motohama up. Matsuda meanwhile kept firing while Koneko and Akeno from the outside rushed by the three. Yuuto and Rias walked on some sets of stairs, pinning the man on a balcony while choppers flew around the infested building. Issei walked with Motohama and Matsuda as well as Koneko and Akeno, securing the man's position.
"So you're the prick behind all of this!" Rias said as she walked down a set of stairs. "You're causing quite the scene and panic. Just give up and turn yourself in. Adding a resisting arrest charge won't help your case." Motohama announces.
Asia runs onto the scene suddenly, everyone just stares at her weirdly. "Sorry I'm late guys!" She says as Yuuto suddenly dashes towards the man and gets him onto his knees. He then draws his blade while Motohama puts his away. He and Matsuda walk over and cuff the man, but he smiles. "I wouldn't do that if I were you" He says as bugs start to fly around the building. PSD soldiers arrive at the scene and fire some shots before realizing that it's an infestation.
"Are you kidding me?"
The man smiles as he looks up and sees Rodney standing on the building across from where they are. He then turns around and looks at Rias with that wicked grin. "Nice rack" he says crudely as Motohama grabs the suspect by the hair.
"Call them off!"
Akeno smiles as she begins to cast a spell. Issei watches everyone gathering around the suspect as bugs begin to drop. The suspect yells out of anger and frustration, kicking and screaming as Matsuda and Motohama continue to pin him down to the ground.
"So this is life now" Issei said to himself. "No more hangouts and socializing" Issei said bitterly as he found himself sitting against a tree, watching the scene de escalating.
"NO! NO EVERYTHING WAS RUINED! JESUS RUINED MY CHANCE WITH DEVIL HOOD! I WAS GONNA BECOME A GOD AND THEN YOUR STUPID WEDDING CRASH RUINED IT! I WAS GONNA GET EVERYTHING MY HEART DESIRED BUT YOU FUCKING RUINED IT!"
The man continued to schizo rant as he felt a knee slam into his back.
"GET OFF ME! GET THE HELL OFF ME RIGHT NOW!"
Issei continued to sit against a tree and watch his childhood friends pull out night sticks.
"What the hell is this?" Issei asked, standing up as Rias turned her head to him. With a big smile she looks at Issei, only to lose it as his eyes stare right back into hers. They spoke to her.
"Issei?" she asked as he walked closer to the scene, watching Motohama and Matsuda grab the suspect by the arms and drag him off.
"What's wrong darling?" Rias asked as she placed her hand on Issei's face.
"I just, it's disturbing" Issei said back.
"What is?" Rias asked.
"Watching the friends you knew since kindergarten acting like this" Issei points out as Motohama and Matsuda slam the man into the back of their unmarked cruiser.
"SCREW YOU! YOU'RE NOT WORTHY LIKE I AM!"
"I wonder if they'd think the same about me?" Issei asks
"Issei?" Rias asks, confused as she wraps her arms around him. He returns the gesture as the House of Gremory watches the PSD clear the scene, leaving Motohama and Matsuda behind with the cleanup crew.
"We'll see you around Issei!" Matsuda says cheerfully as he waves at Issei.
"Yeah you're good to go! We'll be in touch!"
The House of Gremory begins to leave the scene as tape is wrapped around. Issei follows Rias, hesitant as he looks back to see the two parting ways and talking with fellow agents.
"Issei!" Rias yells as he turns to her. He smiles faintly before turning his head towards the sky.
"The Spiritual World cannot hide for long" he thought to himself.
"All spirituality dies by my hand. This promise I shall keep"
The next day Issei was walking with Rias to school when suddenly Asia decided to join them. "Oh hi Rias!" She said with delight. Rias already knew something was up and decided to hide her suspicion with a polite hi back. Hey eyes glance back and forth between Issei and Asia until they make it to the gates, the whole time Issei was weird around Asia, and Asia would just ignore him. She then walks by the two and heads onto the school grounds. "See you around Rias!" She yells as she runs to join some friends. "What the hell?" Rias asks Issei.
"Can't I just get a break?" Issei asks out loud as he walks past Rias. She looks at him, standing from afar as she watches Issei blend in with the rest of the crowd. His walk was sulking, a defeated spirit off to class. She walks over to Issei and catches up to him, pulling him by the shoulder. She felt caught off guard as he turned around, reminding her of his new height advantage over her.
"Darling talk to me" she says calmly. "I'm worried about you." Issei and Rias stood before the school gate at a bench. Rias sits down, forcing Issei to join her. "Talk to me." Issei sighs. "Is Riser on the mind?" Rias asks as Issei almost tears up. "There's just so much to unpack here." Rias wraps her arms around Issei as he takes a deep breath. "Rias, I don't regret anything, but I have to live with the fear of that day" Issei said as he looked at her. "Issei" Rias says softly. "I didn't mean to" Issei shakes his head as he removes Rias's hand. "No, you didn't. This isn't about anything you did." Issei sighs as Rias spoke soft words into his ears. "It's just the cost of business." She said in a reassuring manner.
"It's not just that. This power, it allows me to connect with parts of myself I never knew I had. Parts that fight for control." Rias grabs Issei's hand. "It's like I'm fighting Riser all over again when I fight them. It hurts, it's hard. You're worth it, but that doesn't mean it's easy." Issei says this as he pulls Rias closer. "One day I'll be stronger, and this'll all be numb. For now though, I can feel it."
"Don't lose yourself my dear" Rias says as she cups Issei's head. He looks into her eyes as she smiles. "Don't lose to them. I'm here, I'll always be here." Issei smiles at Rias. "I know watching you all these years was wrong, but don't lose the man I've always known. You were always my protector, even before we met. And whatever is inside of you is just jealous and angry and upset. It may be a part of you, but it's not you." She says as she gets close to his face. "Whatever is inside is fooling you. He wants me for himself, he's trying to take you away! I can't ever lose you!" Rias finds herself crying as she tightens her grip on Issei's shoulders. Her sobs get to Issei and he finds himself hurt along with her. "Rias, come here." He says as he pulls her in for a tight hug. He then gives her a kiss on the forehead. "Baby, it's alright. I'm alright!" Rias sniffles as she feels herself being squeezed.
"If I had known this would tear you up, I never would have put you in such a vulnerable position" Rias says as she wipes her tears. "You didn't put me in anything, I did this" Issei said. "No, I'm the President of the club. It's my position to-" Issei cuts Rias off. "No, you were the president, but let's not play anymore games." Rias turns her head to Issei and shoves him. Her face turns red as she grits her teeth. "Are you serious right now?!" She yells, stopping herself in a moments notice as she looks into Issei's eyes. She remembers the young face she saw laying dead on the ground in a pool of his own blood. A more mature grown version looks back at her. Cleanly cut, with more defined features. A man.
Rias backs down, sitting on a bench as Issei joins her. "I'm so sorry" she says as she retreats back into her shell. She feels Issei pull her closer. "I wouldn't have let you take control like that, not if it meant being taken by him" Issei said softly. I'm sorry, this was a mistake. If opening up makes you worry then-"
"NO!" Rias yells. "No, Issei, please open up. Don't shut me out." Issei turns his head over to her and leans his head against her shoulders. "You're not the only one hurting right now, but I want you to know that I'm always here for you. If you need to crumble, let me by the foundation we build you back on." Rias looks back at Issei and sees a soft smile looking down at her. "Then let me be the house that keeps you safe and warm at night" she says as Issei leans closer to her face. She smiles as Issei leans closer to her face. Rias closes her eyes as she feels her lips contact his. The two embrace for a kiss in an empty courtyard.
"Can I change the topic now?" Issei asks. Rias nods. "I called the guys last night," Issei said enthusiastically. "How did it go?" Rias asked with a gleaming smile across her face. "We spent the entire night piercing together what happened to some of our missing peers." "Oh?" Rias asked. "The guy we caught last night. The comments he made about some of you guys gave it away-"
Issei stops mid sentence as a whole crowd of girls all wander into the building with blank expressions. They rip their respective poster off the bulletin in the front gate and walk into the school. Their friends run up and scream, knocking them out of their trance as teachers rush over and call 911. The entire courtyard fills up and goes into a frenzy as one by one each girl takes a moment to look around before breaking down with a panicked cry.
"Issei, that's….." Rias looks over to him as he looks down in shock. "No fucking way" he said softly. He checks his phone to see the facetime call going off. "You bastards pulled it off!" Issei said excitedly. "You can thank us later once we've confirmed it's all them!" Issei stops and stares as PSD agents flood the school gates with crying parents. One by one each of the missing students find and embrace their parents. Yet Issei's smile fades as the mood continues to linger. "Something's still off," he says to himself. He turns to Rias before looking up to see Motohama and Matsuda. The two walk over to Rias and Issei.
"So what's going on?" Issei asked his two boys as they walked up to the roof. "Looks like they were in some kind of trance and it wore off. We're investigating how it could be related to that warehouse we raided." Matsuda said. "Drugs maybe?" Motohama asked. "What drug on the street could do this?" Matsuda asked. "So that guy, is he still in your custody?" The two agents looked at each other as Issei looked at Rias.
"Can you get the club house together to help assess this situation? I'm running with my boys here." Rias nods as Issei waves his arm, signaling for them to follow. "Come on guys!" Issei then turns to Rias and wraps his arms around her. "Thank you" he says softly as he feels her pressing up against his neck. "I can't do any of this without you, you know that right?" Issei spoke in Rias's ear. "Go have your fun tiger" she says with a smirk. Issei gives her a peck as the three boys run off and hop into an old 1960's convertible down to the station.
"Damn, nice ride," Issei adds as they leave the school parking lot. "Yeah, straight out of LA Noire. Somehow our department just has one of these lying around." Motohama added as Issei grins. "We're back in business."
As the three drive down to the station they walk up to the man's cell. "Simon Says, what a name." Matsuda says, looking at the man's paperwork, titled under the name "Simon Says." The three walked into a room where he remained cuffed. "Alright how are we gonna do this then? You wanna answer our question and make your plea better, or we gonna have to add that resisting arrest charge back?" Motohama asked. "You can't just add and take away charges as you please" Simon said, not looking anyone in the eye.
"No one is looking for you. We can make you disappear if we really felt like it. Take the generous offer" Motohama said back. Simon just giggles as he looks up at the boys and takes a seat at a fold up chair. "Nice interrogation set up. A nice little fold up table and chair for you to slam me on" Simon comments. "Oh we don't plan on doing that, not unless we have to." Issei says as he leans up against a wall. "So I see you're still in school kid. They didn't drag you into the army?" Issei scoffs as Motohama and Matsuda pull out some paperwork.
"Alright, do any of these faces seem familiar?" Simon looks at them and laughs. "Not their faces." He then winks uncontrollably. But they are recognizable. "Tell me Simon, have you had a history of drug usage in the past?" Simon nods his head left and right. "Nope," But Issei, who was standing against the wall, has had enough and throws the table. He then takes the chair from Simon and jams the door, locking them in. "SHIT! " Matsuda and Motohama look at Issei with fear as the other PSD agents rush over to unlock the door. "HEY! HEY GET THAT KID OUT OF THERE!"
Issei activates his gauntlet. He grabs Simon and slams him against the wall. "You said nice rack to my wife, and it got me thinking why? You're a creep alright but there's more to it! Then I take a look at your history, and then put those posters we have at my school of our missing classmates and you together, it all makes sense!" He then slams the man at the ground. "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Issei asked as he aimed his gauntlet. Motohama and Matsuda yell at Issei along with the entire PSD department as they desperately try to break in.
"THE CHAIR IS STUCK!" Motoham yells while Matsuda is trying to peel Issei off. "Man, please don't kill me. You were right. I have nothing outside this cell but damnation! "Issei slams the man into the ground, causing blood to gush out of his head. "I don't give a shit about your sad story! Where?!" The man stumbles over his words. "Behind. the. school." Simon says as Issei glares at him with glowing green eyes. He then looks at Matsuda and Motohama as the officers all begin to calm down. "You had no legal evid-" Issei cuts Motohama off. "We have a confession now. I suggest we run off of it. We have to move now before anyone catches on!" Issei then looks back at Simon.
"You suck. Trafficking minors, we're not dropping shit." Issei adds before dropping the man. He then takes the chair out of the door handle and opens it. Agents all watch in terror as Issei uses a weapon they have no idea what it is. Motohama and Matsuda are left there horrified as agents all rush into Simon's cell. Issei looks back and smiles as no agents run after him. "They're not paying attention to me?" Issei thought. "It's odd, I may have been reckless. I revealed my supernatural abilities in front of the demon hunters and they're not-" Issei walks out and sees Rias. Her eyes glare at him angrily. "That checks out" Issei says as he smiles with his hands in his pocket. Behind him, Motohama and Matsuda are frozen as they see Rias's eyes glowing blue. Issei walks up to her with a nonchalant attitude.
"Get in" Rias says with a stern tone, pointing to the car. "Honey, it's okay I-" Rias grabs Issei. "You're late for lunch, and we're talking about your power usage." She says as she throws him in shotgun. Issei chuckles as Rias starts the old car up. "I'm sure we will" he said. She looks over to him as he nods at Motohama and Matsuda. "You two organize something with your men and communicate with me the plan." The car peels off in a sudden notice. Issei leans back in his seat as Rias drives with anger. "I got everyone together, we'll be waiting on you" she says. "So then what's the issue?" Issei asks. "You're wreckless" Rias says calmly. "I'm efficient," Issei said back. "Issei I mean it. Just because you're friends with those two does not mean the entire institution won't turn on us!" Rias yells. "I don't want you getting captured by them. I was scared you'd run off to their headquarters like this but there's no stopping you from doing what you wanna do."
"No there's not. If there was, Riser would have had his wa-" Issei! Stop making everything about Riser! He's gone, I'm safe now! Please just listen to me. If you're gonna take over my own club you have to at least let me train you first!"
"So now you're letting me have the club?" Issei asked. "It's not like I have much of a choice!" Rias says bitterly as she pulls into the school parking lot. "You're doing exactly what I say as of right now, do you understand?" Rias asks as she turns her head with bitterness. Issei looks at her scowling face and smiles. "Cute" he thought as he felt her eyes burning a metaphorical hole into his head.
Ten minutes later, Issei felt relaxed in his desk chair as Rias took out her lunch. "Say Ahhhhh!" Rias says as she feeds Issei a meatball. As the meatball goes into his mouth he tastes each mouthwatering spice put into it before swallowing it. "Wow, this is really good." Issei says as Rias looks back at him with her innocent blue eyes. "Thank you, I made them just for you" Issei smiles even more. "Wow" he thought to himself.
"So it sounds like you managed to make the police work go well?" Rias asks. Issei nods cheerfully with a mouth full of meatballs. "By what I saw I'd say it looks like you got what you wanted." Issei swallows. "Oh yeah, behind the school tonight we gotta all meet there. Whatever happened to those girls is lurking there. Something bigger is going on." Issei says as he takes another meatball. "Oh? And how would you get that information?" Rias asks rather sarcastically. Issei chuckles as Rias grabs his ear.
Rias says as Asia walks up to Issei. He feeds Rias some of his lunch with a label "For Issei" on a sticky note. "You can try it now." Issei says as he puts his lunch down and opens his arms out. "Really?" Rias asks as Issei nods his head up and down. She takes the opportunity to pounce on Issei and squeeze the living life out of him. All while Asia stopped and starred. "So how was it?" She asked as Issei turned around and looked at her. She held a container of food that said "Issei" on it. "How was-?" Issei stops and looks at the lunch he ate and fed Rias. Noticing the "For" before his name. "Oh no" Issei said out loud. He says as he feels his skin going pale as his error becomes apparent. "It was good, like really good."
"YOU PIG!" She yells as she throws the container at Issei. He blocks it with his arm as Asia runs down the hallway and enters a room. She slams the door, getting Koneko and Yuuto's attention from their tense chess game, and Akeno's attention from Rodney as they did the same thing from the other couch as Rias and Issei were. "Asia, wait!" Issei said as he got up, but as he went over to open the door he could tell it was locked. "Asia it was a mistake! I must have grabbed the wrong box. I didn't mean to grab yours. I really appreciated the food!" No response. "Look Asia, If this is about the other day, then I know what happened was bad but I didn't mean to turn you down like that. I was scared, something happened where I saw stuff all around me." Asia perks her head up as she leaned against the door.
Please, please just listen. I'm still trying to process everything that went down since the wedding. My best friends are gone and you guys are all I have, so I can't lose anymore. Rias is constantly being taken away from me! I don't need you gone too Asia!" The door still remained locked. Issei turns around and walks back to the living room where everyone else just looks at him. He then storms over to the door as Asia sat up against it. "You know what! I'm sorry, okay?! But if you're gonna act like this, may I remind you that you kissed me without any warning! That's just not acceptable, okay?! So come out so we can talk about this like adults!" Issei storms off as Rias gives him a look. Issei sighs as he looks down at the ground. "Yeah, that happened," Issei said. "Sorry I didn't tell you." But Rias just smiled at Issei as she leaned up against him. "I think you two will figure it out. Just give her some time to cool down" Rias said. "Wait until you hear about my day. You'll be happy about yours." Issei then tastes the food Asia made one more time, realizing why he also thought it was his food.
"That's, moms cooking. She learned from my mom." He says as he drops his chopsticks. "And after all they've done, I still haven't thanked them." He puts his food down and rushes out. "I have to do something for a bit!" Issei yells, leaving the group. He then slams the door shut on the way out and rides his bike up the road to his house.
