After Kiyoko disappeared down the street, the system prompt chimed again.
"Congratulations to the host for completing the task. Please select your reward."
Enhance personal ability (choose between power, jump, or speed)
Gain wealth (up to one billion yen)
Skip timeline (enter high school life directly)
All three were tempting. Ability, money, or fast-forwarding to the part of the story he wanted most.
Jin smirked. He knew exactly what he wanted. Kiyoko's words from earlier still echoed in his heart.
"Yoshii! Let's go to Karasuno!" he answered without hesitation.
The scenery blurred. His clothes changed, his body stretched taller by another centimeter.
When the world cleared again.
"This is… Karasuno's gym!"
He recognized it instantly from the anime.
A familiar voice rang out: "How are you here!?"
"You're… that guy from Yukigaoka!"
The "monster duo" were in front of him, Hinata and Kageyama.
Jin walked in leisurely, cutting through their bickering. "Long time no see, you single-cell brats."
Both of them turned on him at once.
"It's you! That fake transfer!"
"Jin, you actually came to Karasuno!"
"Tch. So what if he's here? His skill has nothing to do with you, and you're still useless."
"Hah? I'm not the same as I was months ago!"
But within seconds, the two ignored him again, right back to squabbling with each other.
Jin rolled his eyes. According to the story, the upperclassmen would walk in soon. He had maybe three minutes before they got kicked out.
"Enough arguing. How about one-on-two?"
The words instantly silenced them.
"One-on-two?" Hinata blinked.
Jin spun a volleyball smoothly on his fingertip. "Didn't you both say you've improved? Then the two of you can try to receive my serve together."
"Fine!"
"Fine!"
Hinata and Kageyama answered at the same time.
Jin stepped to the opposite end of the court. Hinata and Kageyama stood side by side in the back row, ready.
He tossed the ball high, ran three steps, shoulders loose, then snapped his arm through.
The first serve thundered toward Kageyama.
"You're aiming at me? You underestimate me so much!" Kageyama braced.
But the ball's violent spin blasted through his arms, sending it skidding out of bounds.
"Forgot to mention." Jin smirked. "I'm nothing like I was a few months ago too."
Kageyama clenched his numb wrist. His serve… it really had gotten terrifying.
Hinata retrieved the ball nervously. Nobody he'd trained with could serve like that. If even Kageyama couldn't handle it, how could he?
"Scared? Then just admit defeat," Kageyama goaded.
Hinata bristled. "No way! Jin, don't hold back. Give me everything!"
Jin nodded. Fair was fair. His second serve flew straight at Hinata.
As always he shrank back instinctively
Just then, footsteps echoed at the door.
"Looks like the first-years are here. Full of energy already," said a cheerful voice. Sawamura Daichi stepped in, Sugawara and Tanaka behind him.
*Boom!*
Hinata's reception went wild, straight into Daichi's face.
The captain's smile darkened instantly.
"…Uh oh," Sugawara muttered, edging back.
Tanaka clutched his stomach, choking back laughter.
"Oh shit!" Jin thought, face pale. 'This damned plot setting is impossible to dodge!'
