Charles felt the drop of sweat roll down his forehead. Staring at Gabriel, he could already tell it would be a tough battle, one where he couldn't afford to make a mistake. There was silence between the two for a second before Gabriel made his move, stepping up the steps. Tightening his grip on his weapons, and without turning back, he spoke, "Alfred. Do not get close. I cannot afford to lose-"

Crossing the short sword and axe over one another, he blocked the strike Gabriel threw and pushed him back. Gabriel stumbled down the staircase a little, and without missing a beat, he dove forward, swinging his axe from the side, for a swift kill. Gabriel ducked, the axe splitting the wind.
