Chapter 982 - Chapter 979 The traveling village

As the village rested for the night, Lilith sent a communication to Rex. As Rex was laying down between Iris and Liz. He felt the ground shake just a tiny amount before a talisman appeared before him.

"Demon King, as you have ordered. I have successfully managed to force the leaders of the demi-humans town leave. The departure time is lunch tomorrow. If there are any other things needed to be said about the demi-humans. Now is the time to let me know."

The chat ended.

Rex was wondering why Lilith had used this method of talking instead of the visual portals that they normally use.

"My guess is to protect your real identity." Iris spoke up.

Liz felt that this was true but there was something missing from her end as well.

"Probably, she did not want the demi-humans leadership to know what you are doing this late. Probably for them this is the time that they start to procreate. This is just my guess though." Liz stated.

Hearing their thoughts, Rex had to agree. He still found this method useless.

He opened up a portal and allowed himself to see what she was dealing with. The demi-humans stared at the portal. Lilith was upset that this was happening now.

"Which of you dared to make my wife use a talisman to communicate with me?" Rex commanded.

Beside of him, Iris and Liz both made an appearance. This shocked the beastmen. It was well known that those two had already been engaged to someone powerful.

If the Demon King had already proclaimed them as servants or wives, this would make them less than that.

"We are terribly sorry for making your wife uncomfortable in talking to you, Your Majesty. We wanted to know personally if there are any special requirements for us when we enter the town." The eldest spoke.

"It is a village being rebuilt. You all may feel like your walls and training are enough but against what we will be facing. Your own shadow can betray you.

Furthermore, what my wife commands is what I am commanding. Do not take it for granted that I am not there. I could be there within minutes if I desired.

As for your duties, first help build the walls that will secure not only yourselves but the lives of humans, demons, and your neighbors. My plan to protect the town and make that town a common place within the Nine Realms to ensure that no person is neglected nor forsaken by future time.

If you wish to betray what I want to build. Leave yourself there in the town and make yourselves stronger by any means. For this is what I promise if I am betrayed by people whom I am trying to save. The destruction of your entire race by my hands alone."

With that Rex ended the call. The leadership all pissing themselves and Lilith giggling internally about it.

The town decided to hold the meetings separately to ensure that no one was left empty handed with the news.

Meanwhile

"Well, that was quite harsh." Iris spoke.

"It needed to be because Lilith no matter who was there would have connected me through the portal and through the Demonic Talisman given to me by the Demon God through various ways in the Nine Realms."

"Oh, that is something we have not heard about. Tell us how he gave you the talismans." Liz asked.

"Usually I either had to be dealing with demons or in my Demon King form and through that. I would hear his voice trying to grant me access to the Demonic Talismans. When I finally get them, I never even had to use them. Even thinking that I would not use it until the Heavenly Realm. Here I am using it because Lilith felt uncomfortable." Rex spoke angrily at the end.

Iris and Liz both knew that he would get angry if that happened to them.

"Alright though, we need to get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a hard one on the villagers." Rex told them.

They slept quite peacefully together. Iris and Liz feeling the warmth of Rex has he softly breathed through the night. Eventually they too fell asleep peacefully.

Rex had a hard time staying asleep but it was within normal standards because he was being used as the human pillow.

The next morning came and the villagers were ready to move. They planned strategically how to better perform today.

They began their march. Each employing their correct setup. The elderly using their strength first to help get the carts going. They had plenty of practice doing this and could do it with more effort.

Then the older adults would come in and pull the carts. The elderly rested. Teenagers would jump in and push the carts for an hour or so before the elderly would join in to help them push the carts.

Of course, this applied mainly for the young children staying close to their family. Of course, some liked to venture around. They were strictly prohibited from disturbing too many other carts along the way.

By the time the day ended this time. The path had been much better and longer than the previous day. This was thanks to the well planning.

Of course, it also helped that most of the women tried to position themselves in ways not to hurt the men.

The last three carts where it was mainly the women in their was the hardest. The strongest of men had to rotate between those carts.

That was strictly four men to one cart. To help push the back and then hoped in while the two front men pulled hard. They swapped every two hours. Then would rotate daily to prevent overworking on the carts.

The women also held the power of having which men on their carts. If too many women liked a certain man or was neutral among them. That man would be allowed.

If too many women did not like him. That man would not be allowed to. Of course, if women did like a certain man more they would transfer carts to make life a little easier among the carts.

It could not always happen and even a couple of disliked men had to feel the pressure has they carried the women towards the new home.
