Once the second call with Lilith ended. Rex was once again alone with the Shadow Queen. Knowing that this would either make her completely hate Rex or love him till the end of time. She decided to ask him how he truly felt about her.
"Rex, I am already married. However, I truly wish to know how you feel about me." The Shadow Queen asked.
Rex was at a lost. He did not know how to answer. If he answered honestly, he did not know how she would react. If he answered in a lie, she would eventually find out.
"If I were to lie, it would be that I truly do not like you. You always do stuff just like how I do. I know that my women do not like that about me but they still stand beside of me."
The Shadow Queen was truly confused about how that lie would truly affect her. Hearing that he did some stuff completely out of the blue. She felt that he was also like her due to the curse of the Shadow Queen.
"If I were to tell you the truth, honestly, I do not know how I feel. Part of me wishes for you to live a long life, and another part of me wants you to try and break the curse. So that you can be yourself truly."
The Shadow Queen felt a bubbling sensation deep within her. It seemed as if something was breaking and it did not feel right.
She then began to cough and it sounded like explosions going off inside the room. She collapsed.
Rex did not know what was going on. She tried to comfort her. She could not hear or feel him currently.
The Royal Knights came in. None of them knew what this was. They helped her to the Royal Chamber and the maids kept up with the Shadow Queen and documented everything that they saw.
As it stood, Rex was now free for at least the next day. He stood up and stretched. It had been some time since he had just enjoyed what he normally did.
He walked out to the Eighth Realm. He smelled the fresh air. The sounds of beasts roaring showing that they had killed something. To the flying birds and beasts that seemed to enjoy telling the Realm of their day.
Rex quietly sat down. He missed listening to the sounds of nature. It helped him relax and just simply cultivate better. Although, cultivating in the Eighth Realm would not do him any good.
It was still a nice night to listen and practice. Beasts seemed to notice the quietness that radiated from around Rex. This told them that someone or something was indeed cultivating.
They began to sneak around Rex. When they noticed the Demonic Qi surrounding him. They politely ran away.
The beasts knew instinctively that messing with someone or something with that much Demonic Qi was not a good idea.
As for the ones that did not notice, they continued their roaring and chirping of a great day and that the next would be another one.
Hearing that the birds and roars quietly stopped. Rex stopped his cultivation and looked around. He then felt a disturbance between the town and his location.
He swiftly and quietly headed towards its location. As he neared the location, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. That was until he saw the little lizard on a tree that the Demon God had tried to hand him.
The only thing that could be felt was the Demonic Qi radiating from the little lizard. Otherwise, it would not look any different than a normal little lizard.
It happily jumped and landed on Rex's head. It seemed to dance on top of Rex's head has it was happy but Rex was not.
"Demon God, I thought I asked for this little lizard not to be mine." Rex spoke in a low tone.
"Well, it got a drop of your blood. So it can now just be close to you. There is nothing I can do about it." The answer from the Demon God seemed to upset Rex.
"At least make sure that he does not disturb the nature while I try to concentrate." Rex replied.
"Well, it is YOUR little lizard now. Make sure to keep him by your side. He will understand your feelings." The reply from the Demon God seemed to make Rex just a little upset.
"Whatever." Rex saddened reply came through.
The Demon God seemed to understand Rex's feelings but the lizard's feelings now should be taken into affect as well.
"Either they will bond or not. If not, he will eventually get eaten by him. If he does, the Demon Realm will survive the War." The Demon God thought as the duo left that area.
Rex went back to where he was and tried to cultivate again. Nothing from nature sounded, this upset Rex a lot. The lizard seemed to understand what Rex wanted currently it was too weak to do anything about it.
