The leaders' meeting ended in a decent time. Too much happened in too short of a time. They decided to not hold any for a week and just see how the town itself grows from this point.
Lilith led the way to the house that the women were currently staying in. When the wives were by themselves. Lilith recalled Rex.
"What is wrong?" Rex asked worried.
"How much of the attacks did you actually plan?" Lilith asked.
The other were around looking very upset.
"I had only planned for two beasts to come around. At least this was what I had told my tiger to bring. I had told my dragon one decent flying beast." Rex replied.
The women knew that Rex would not have casually told them without them already knowing the truth.
Lilith felt that Rex was indeed telling the truth. She explained what his beasts had done.
Rex was stunned beyond belief. He never actually believed that they would have done too much.
Knowing how his beasts truly were, Rex could only sigh in defeat. The women asked him how his training was going.
The Shadow Queen spoke up, "Currently, I believe he has had too much poison in him. So I am helping him relax and make sure that he can be ready for when he truly needs to be poisoned again." While she had explained, she sat down in his lap.
"Won't your husband be upset?" Amber asked.
She figured that this was a good chance to actually get her in trouble.
"No. It is due to the curse of being the Shadow King and Shadow Queen." She told them.
The women urged her to explain. She finally decided to after almost an hour of begging.
"When the Shadow King and Shadow Queen are being picked. Of course, the strongest has to be picked. The strongest does not necessarily mean the mightiest.
It is just who is the strongest at the time. When the two are picked, they go through a training period. It is there that the curse of the Shadow King and Shadow Queen are placed.
For the Shadow King, he has to be open that his Queen is just a woman to be used. For the Shadow Queen, she is subjected to torture to ensure that she cannot break when the Shadow King is away."
The women were shocked to hear that. They even thought that this was a Demon Realm curse as they heard it.
"Alright. That is enough for tonight. Rest well everyone." Rex told them.
They were upset but it was for the best. Rex knew how his women would react if they continued.
The night passed slowly in the town. The wives unable to sleep after learning how the Shadow King and Shadow Queen are treated.
The next morning arrived. The drowsiness hit the women. They did not allow it to show.
The women walked through the town together.
The residential area was coming along nicely. Even the residents began to make sure that a couple of the other races at least lived in the human areas. The other races did too.
It was hard to imagine this happening due to the hatred that flows through the Realms. This town was the biggest advantage against surviving the upcoming War. The people inside of it grew together closer from the two massive attacks.
Children were now playing with others races without fear from their parents. Most of the parents now even did not care if they played together.
The women continued their walk. Amber and Margaret told the children that they had a walk to do first before they could play with them. The children were extremely happy.
Iris and Liz both felt their hearts melt when watching the children. Lilith knew that deep down her child would be just like these.
Growing up with different races around the child and ensuring that the child did not have any resentment towards the other races. Lilith would have to keep her child safe.
While the women continued their walk. Three of the leaders were together. Isabelle, a demi-human, and a regular human. They were trying to figure out the place to build the first palace.
Of course, the one for the Shadow People was already in place. It was going to be built. As for the others, they had to decide on it.
Lilith talked to the leaders to tell them that Rex's beasts had caused the attacks to happen. Rex had originally wanted only a beast or two to come to help the town grow.
This was believable to the others. It was not just truly random but the sheer intensity of the attacks made it unforgettable.
Each household was to keep a record of how the fights had brought the different races together. The leaders' did not mind the attacks now.
The town would become something else entirely before the end of the War. What it was? None of them knew. They knew deep down that the future was bright and their light was Rex.
