Uzroth had taken his men and left the castle grounds. They bowed to the castle for protecting the Fifth Realm as best it could, to the people who have fought hard for the day, and to the other demons for being there willing and able to fight against the Shadow People.
"Everyone listen. Tonight each platoon will be broken up into two halves. Each split to help cover more ground faster but still within range of the leading platoon commander.
If any Shadow People are found and they are going to attack. Immediately call for help, your platoon commanders will give two people on each half a signal to give in case of emergencies.
Each commander will also be in control of the half split. Do not go overboard and believe that you can kill even a single one alone. I want good results and no casualties.
Am I clear?" Uzroth spoke with authority.
Every demon bowed and responded with a great Yes.
"Good. Now go and prepare for the day trip." Uzroth commanded.
Each platoon sent six men to go kill a beast and bring back the parts. Boars were close by and a great supply of them too. When the demons killed twenty of them. The others began to feel afraid.
Another ten were killed before the board completely left the area. Although it was a great number for some towns. For the one twenty platoons this would barely last two days.
The demons retrieved all of the meat and the cores from the beasts. When they returned, the twenty commanders got the beast cores while Uzroth got the other ten. This was to strengthen the platoon commanders to ensure that they were in top shape in before the day.
Each platoon split the meat evenly. It was a little hard at first to ensure that the meat was split evenly. Once one boar was split between two platoons, it made splitting the rest of them easily.
They began to cut the meat into jerky and cooked it over the night fire. Uzroth did not want any of the meat. He was not going to need it for a couple of days himself.
The platoon commanders also had meat for a day. This helped the soldiers be completely prepared for the upcoming couple of days.
Uzroth was not one to sleep deeply but tonight he felt as if he could not sleep at all. When he looked across the camp, he saw the Shadow People who had escaped from the castle.
He charged towards them. The Shadow People laughing as he completely tripped face first into the smoldering campfire.
He got up unfazed by the fact the Shadow People had the advantage and his face was untouched by the fire itself.
This upset the Shadow People. Before they could actually prepare for a battle the entire camp was now awake and surrounding the Shadow People.
They disappeared into the shadows of the night. Tracking them now was almost impossible due to how much each shadow looked alike.
Even where they were was completely different. Since nothing had changed for now. The demons began to rotate shifts. It was not long before the moon was being close to four in the morning.
Uzroth commanded the demons to all wake up. He had a feeling about where they would want to hide.
He pulled out a huge map of the Fifth Realm. This was the new layout of the Fifth Realm granted to each Realm and to the highest figures within those Realms.
Looking at the map there were a new set of mountain ranges with ten caves within each of them.
Six caves were actually close to the castle. Uzroth commanded twelve platoons to search the caves. One platoon guards the outside while one searches the inside.
As for the other eight platoons, they were to search along the river to see of anymore Shadow People had moved across the river.
This would be there first assignment.
Meanwhile almost five in the morning
"Milady, it will be morning soon." A demon woke up Amber.
He was not supposed to wake her up. He had bad feeling. Amber rolled out of the bed. When she was dressed and ready to deal with the day, the soldier who woke her up was outside her tent.
"Milady, I believe that we will be invaded from the river to lose the edge of the river and possibly platoons." The soldier spoke.
Amber was led to where two platoons were currently awaiting for her. The two platoon commanders were there and one more person was missing.
"We sent a soldier to you and one back to Uzroth. If we look here, this is where the Shadow People were able to come out of the river and shift the shadows here." One of the platoon commanders spoke.
Amber could tell that something was off from that area but was not completely sure of what it was.
"Now, come this way." The other commander spoke.
They went to almost the other corner of the castle that was on the west side.
"This is why we believe that invasion will be from here." The platoon commanders spoke and a dead creature was laid across the river.
Amber tried to move it. She could not and even commanded the demons to help her move it. The result was the same.
"Even though, we had already tried. We wanted to see if you could. Our apologies for not telling you sooner but it was better to see if your higher Realm could move the beast or not." The platoon commander spoke.
Amber then decided to use Qi to try and damage the beast. It bounced off and the demon's Qi could not even get close.
Even when they tried to combine their attacks, the bouncing effect still happened. However a couple of scales from the long beast still came off.
"Call the snake maids over here. I want to see if they can damage the beast or not." Amber told one of the soldiers.
He rushed back to their camp. He was going to hope that his nightmare did not come through.
