"Cough," Charles cleared his throat, "Nico, I am more than happy to discuss your personal matters, but not now. Can you tell me about the other details of this relic? Is there any way to avoid its side effects?"
Charles thought to himself that if he could merge it into his own body, he might avoid the side effects.
Nico shook his head slightly, looking at Charles as his white teeth gently bit the tail of a silver spoon. "I don't know, this relic belonged to my first mate, but he's dead."
After pondering for a moment, Charles nodded, "Very well, I'll take this relic, but I'm a bit puzzled as to why you want to come aboard my ship."
He still wasn't sure about the power of this relic, but that wouldn't stop him from taking possession of it now. It might come in handy later.
