The moment the battle began, all of Ace's friends and family, be they high god paragons or even Sovereigns, were forced to flee the True Yang Realm. He may not be a true Overgod, but when he went all out, Ace was able to tap into a level of power that surpassed that of even the strongest of Sovereigns, especially as Ace had the same amount of Will as an Overgod.
Even so, the gap between the current Ace and a genuine Overgod was substantial, to say the least, even if said Overgod was one of the weakest Overgods alive at present. It had to be remembered that in terms of energy, Overgod Divine Power was 100 times stronger than the energy of a Chief Sovereign, whereas Ace's Pure Yang Divine power was only twice as strong as an Intermediate Sovereign – that was five times weaker than that of a Chief Sovereign. That meant that Ace's Pure Yang Divine Power was 500x weaker than that of the Spirit of Water's Overgod Divine Power.
It was for that very reason that, despite giving it his all, Ace was essentially being toyed with – the gap between them was too big.
Fortunately, before the Water Overgod got the chance to finish Ace once and for all, Augusta arrived on the scene, somehow managing to block the Spirit of Water's all-out strike.
For a split second, the Overgod of Water was taken aback, but when they remembered that not only was he the Chief Sovereign of Fate, and as such, also had 81 units of Willpower, more importantly, Augusta and Orloff, as members of the Bula race were actually one and the same. That meant that not only could Augusta use his own Willpower he could also tap into the Willpower of his other body.
Augusta may only be a Chief Sovereign and, by extension, could only utilise Sovereign Divine Power. Still, being able to use the additional 103 units of Will belonging to Orloff gave Augusta 184 units of Will, or at least it should have.
Although part of what made the Bula race so powerful was their ability to tap into the power of their other body, only one body could use that ability at a time. That meant that in the split second when Augusta went all out to stop the attack of the Water Overgod, Orloff was left Will-less in his battle against the Overgods of Earth and Lightning – thankfully, Orloff had known what was going to happen and acted accordingly.
Still, it was clear that Augusta using Orloff's Will indefinitely wasn't a permanent solution – if he did that, Orloff would die in his battle against his two Overgod opponents.
It may have taken some time to explain, but the Spirit of Water was able to see through the crux of the problem with a mere glance, and as he did, a malicious sneer formed on their face.
Knowing that Augusta wouldn't be able to keep that level of power up for long, he decided to target Augusta. He knew it wouldn't be long before Orloff would need to take his Willpower back, leaving Augusta defenceless, and after Augusta was taken care of, he would be free to take Ace out once and for all, but what he didn't see coming was, just as he was making a beeline for Augusta, someone would suddenly appear behind him mercilessly thrusting their glaive at his head.
It didn't take a genius to understand that it was Ace, but what the Spirit of Water didn't understand was how Ace was able to summon so much power all of a sudden.
Although Ace's Willpower had reached the level of an Overgod previously, thanks to his lack of Divine Power, he was still some way away from truly being able to fight on par with one, but now…
As the very fabric of space warped around Ace's glaive as it inched towards his head, the Spirit of Water felt the threat of death envelope him for the first time in their life.
He didn't understand how Ace was able to increase his power by so much all of a sudden, but what he knew was that he couldn't let Ace's strike land on him.
Without a second thought, he enveloped his body in an incredibly dense curtain of water.
Although it wasn't able to truly halt Ace's thrust, it was enough to give him the time to dodge out of the way. Unfortunately for him, Ace seemed to have seen his dodge coming.
Before Ace finished his first strike, his body seemed to teleport as he appeared above the head of his target, but unlike last time, where he only utilised an ordinary glaive thrust, this time he used his supreme technique, "[Starburst Maelstrom]".
The first time he used the technique was against the Overgod of Life, shortly after he had comprehended the Mandate of Gravity and had only just begun to fuse it with two of the other True Yang Mandates. Although his comprehension of True Yang had reached an incredibly high level, it was some way away from perfection. So now that Ace had not only become a Paragon of True Yang but was also able to utilise a level of power that made even a genuine Overgod feel threatened, the might of the technique could be imagined.
The Spirit of Water understood that they wouldn't be able to avoid this one, not this time. It felt like Space was warping all around him, and if they took one wrong step, their body would be ravaged by what appeared to be a spatial storm. As such, all they could do was put their all into defence.
Even after giving their all to blocking, the Water Overgod was still sent flying through a spatial tear into the depths of chaotic space by Ace's strike. This time, though, Ace didn't appear to be in a hurry to chase after him. He casually strolled out into the void, his killing intent still billowing out of him, seemingly multiplying with each step he took.
As for the Water Overgod, their injuries were far from light. They might not have a true body yet; even so, the body they had created from harnessing the power of their Overgod Spark was pale-faced. Still, he was far from down and out, but he also didn't hurry back to clashing with Ace; he was determined to figure out what changed.
After taking a deep look at Ace casually strolling through the void in his direction, his eye moved back to the Pure Yang Realm, or rather what was left of it – after the first round of their battle, Ace's personal pocket dimension had turned from a summery utopia to a desolate wasteland. Still, the Water Overgod was more focused on the 18 figures who sat cross-legged with their eyes closed.
Those 18 figures were Lance and the other members of Ace's Gol Clan who had become Paragons, the remaining members of the Golden Sun Pirates, minus Ace and Amira, of course, as well as Linley and his group.
The moment he saw them, he instantly understood that they were using their famous [Constellation Battle Tactics] to channel their power into Ace. The only thing he was still a little taken aback by was the fact that not only was it their Willpower being channelled into Ace, as he had heard before, but it was also their Divine Power.
As it stood, although Ace's Divine Power was still a little inferior to his Overgod Divine Power, the gap had been closed several times over. Still, it was the increase in Willpower that really made the difference. Ace had an additional 100 units of Willpower to tap into. It was for those reasons that Ace held a distinct advantage over him.
Coming to that realisation, the thought of running away appeared in the mind of the Overgod of Water. Especially seeing Ace's cold, fear-inducing, abyss-like eyes as he slowly made his way towards him. Unfortunately for him, it didn't appear that he had any choice in the matter.
The moment Ace sensed the shift in emotion, he projected his voice directly into the mind of the Overgod of Water, telling him that, for daring to lay a hand on his wife, he would forfeit his life here today.
The Overgod barely had time to blink before Ace teleported once again. Realising he was no longer able to run away, he decided to throw caution to the wind and fight with everything he had. Unfortunately, Ace was too powerful now.
In their first clash, Ace was the one being suppressed at every turn, but now their roles had reversed. Every clash only served to worsen the condition of the Water Overgod. Still, Ace was relentless – he wouldn't stop until the Spirit of Water was no longer!
An hour later, the body of the Overgod of Water was flickering, almost as though it was a dying ember of a candle. It opened its mouth to beg Ace for forgiveness; it even promised to become the spirit weapon of the person of his choosing, making them the new Overgod of Water, but Ace didn't care – for harming not only his wife but also his unborn child, death was the only outcome.
Not paying any notice of the begs of the Spirit of Water, Ace slowly waved his Glaive across his body, creating a beautiful reddish-green aura. A single tear fell from Ace's eye as he gently voiced the name of his most recent supreme technique, "[Aurora Wave!]"
