White world
I woke up the next morning with my head atop something soft and warm. I sighed as someone caressed my head. "Good morning young master," Kina said.
"Ah, Kina,"
"Better be up and gone before the academy wakes up,"
That's when I noticed the ceiling was not mine, the walls were different, and even the smell of the room was unfamiliar. I wasn't in my room! I sat up examining the place. It was a sub par room at best, that looked like the room of the servants. I turned to Kina, "your chamber?"
She rolled her eyes. "Where do you think I stay to keep an eye on you? I am a maid here. Better not know me if we meet in public though."
I rose to my feet brushing my bangs away from my eyes with my hand and said, "I am not stupid," I looked at the place again, "anyway, why did you bring me here?"
Kina rose too dusting her skirt. She had changed to a gray medieval dress from the ninja like cloths I usually see her in. "I thought it'd be better if we leave the place in case who ever drugged you mounted an attack. What happened?"
"Kara drugged me," I replied buckling my sword belt, she had rested on the table, to my waist.
"Interesting,"
"Yeah, do you know which drug it was?"
"Nightash. Nasty thing, people say it sends one to the beyond....."
"Veas Sha?" I questioned.
Kina froze in surprise. "Where did you hear that?"
"Veas Sha?" I shrugged, "it's taught in school,"
"Not that, that the beyond is Veas Sha, that's no common knowledge,"
"I guessed so, is it that difficult to unravel? I mean are there any other Outer realms besides Veas Sha and Heaven and Hell outside our world?"
Kina gave me a serous look then sighed. "I guess I am over thinking___ sometimes you seem to know alot, eerily so,"
I shrugged then walked to the door, "don't kill that girl," I ordered, "just watch her, put Nuni and Scars in your list too. Be careful with Scars though, if she senses you your are dead."
Kina smiled, "what is she, Viktora?" She teased.
"Worse, she has a bow and arrow which never misses, and unlike my sweet aunt she has no reason not to kill you," I walked out of the room.
The hallway was empty. I took some time to locate the stairs before walking down. It was bright out but not much people were about as it was snowing badly. I shivered despite in my coat, cursed and made my way back to my dorm. I was glad to step into the warmth of the lounge despite the fire place dying. I dusted the snow off my hair and body before walking upstairs. Taking a glance towards Kara's room I found the door closed, even my mind scan came up with nothing. I shrugged and entered my room.
Immediately I entered I noticed the envelope laying on my bed. My heart skipped a beat, ah, this smells like trouble. 'Maybe it's just the mail', ha haha unlikely. I walked over and picked it. Then broke the seal with a dagger and carefully opened it. My heart was instantly speeding at what I read written with an elegant hand writing. 'We have your princess, try anything and she dies. Go to the city before thirty minutes and await further instructions. Failure to comply results in her death' I froze there for a moment watching the paper in disbelief then folded it back and returned it inside the envelope.
With little thought I sighed then retrieved another card from my coat, tore it in two and placed it on the envelope. I didn't have time to await Kina though. I frowmed, so that's how Scars or whoever her name is wants to play it? 'But not my little princess, never her!' I'd kill them all, I swear! I have never killed anyone though, not this way, I guess there's a beginning to everything. The truth is I had always known this day was coming, but never this soon, so my mind was not caught unprepared.
I walked out of the room silently locking the door behind.
I was out into the snow again. Instead of reducing it was actually increasing. There was wind too, I noted, it could even turn into a storm. With the way the world grew colder I doubted I'll make it out here for thirty minutes. I could swear I was freezing, my body felt numb, my vision was clouded with white. That's how I waded to Heroes house dormitory. I knocked but no one answered. I did three more times, then ten. My hand stung like I was pierced with needles between my knuckles.
I turned away from the door breathing heavily. Walked some distance from it then ran back crashing my shoulder into the portal. It burst open, throwing me on the cold marble floor of the Heroes house lounge. I took a moment to catch my breath then used a great deal of willpower to rise back to my feet. I started hearing noises of people approaching so I waited. The next minute Kobe and a dozen others descended the stairs in panic. "What's the meaning of this?," he asked. "Has the Dragon house started resulting to such means?"
"I'm not from the Dragon horse, where's Celestine?"
"Who are you? Why do you ask? And moreover why should I tell a suspicious child like you?"
"I am Saint, didn't Celestine tell you guys about me? Just tell me where she's, I think she's in danger!"
The youth frowned at me then turned to the others. "Is Celestine home?"
"No," a chubby dark haired girl about my age said. "She left for the library earlier with that maid of her's"
So more trip in the snow? For what, to confirm if she was really abducted? I have wasted at least quarter the thirty minutes on this already. If I go to find her in the library I'll most likely exhaust the alooted time. Could I take the risk? I knew the answer even as I asked myself and it tasted bitter on my tongue. So I'd have to play their game wouldn't I? I turned around and ran out of the tower again. The others called me but I ignored them.
It must be my imagination but the world was colder than before. Way colder! It only strengthened my resolve though. My vision was obscured in this white world. Still I tried to move towards the gate. The wind was stronger now, battering against my body like a force telling me to go back. I struggled on with growing doubt of my decision. How is it snowing this feircely at the end of winter? I'm gonna die aren't I?
This reminded me of that story my wife always tell, that she read from somewhere. Was it hardly chase? Was that the way you spell the name? Never read his works. Anyway, she said someone had wanted a fat guy dead, but instead of killing him directly he placed out of order strips to the elevator, so the fat guy took the stairs. In the climb the guy died of heart failure. Yeah, I think that's it. Maybe that's what 'Scars' is doing to me. Trying to kill me in the snow without lifting a hand.
Finding my way was hard but as some point I stumbled into the Rank halls, the place I had fought Karlos in the entrance exam. At this point I was totally exhausted and spent. I fell to my knees, using all my will to coax myself to my feet but to no avail. I was done and I knew it. That's when they showed themselves like hyenas out for the weakened prey. Five of them approaching from ahead. I couldn't see them in the world of white but I could feel them. What I felt left terror in me and left no doubt as to who my opponent was.
You see, every mind I sense in this world feels different, even the clones, but the five people approaching had exactly the same mind. Like copy and paste. One could even say they had one mind. I understood immediately; the original Scars had possessed all her clones and the are coming for me!!
Hey guys. It seems it's valentine finally. Well I don't really Care for it and would rather it was wiped from the calendar. Still I had planned to stage my odd sense of humor for three days, but too bad I didn't update on Sunday. So happy valentine for anyone it matters too.
