"How what happened?!" Staria asked
"The Endless Hole of Flame that's what happened. His soul is gone. Chris had to save some children and me from a white-flamed phoenix and him being him, he couldn't die knowing the phoenix might kill more dragons. So he cast the Endless Hole of Flame to take the phoenix's soul down with him," Cassandra said crying
After Cassandra said that, she left the room. Ezra was about to follow Cassandra, but Isabela stopped him.
"Ezra let her be, she needs time to heal. We'll talk to her later," Isabela said
Ezra walked off to his room.
I just sat there looking at everyone and thought about what happened on the battlefield, until I stopped my thoughts and started counting everyone. Maybell, Isabela, Ezra, Staria, Cyrus...
"Where's Ace?! Who was the last person that saw him?!" I said out loud
"Uhh... I'm pretty sure the last time I saw him, he was on the battlefield putting on a phoenixes armor," Cyrus answered
"Do know why!?" Staria asked
"Oh uh... yeah, he said he was going to beat the Phoenixes at their own game," Cyrus said
"Did you see him after that talk?" Maybell asked
Cyrus shacked his head before he could say anything Ezra came into the room looking tired and annoyed. He only took one look at us to understand what we were doing.
"Relax, Ace is probably investigating somewhere. Plus, he'll probably be back in like 2 days. I think you guys should take a break from this entire adventure," Ezra said
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but your probably right idiot," Isabela agreed
Ezra smiled at Isabela and told us to follow him to our rooms. When I got to my room I was stunned to see how big it was.
"Akari do you mind sharing your room with Maybell and Isabela, I only have two extra rooms," Ezra asked
"Sure, Maybell and I would share a room back in our old town, Cantatrix," I said
Ezra then left to show Cyrus and Staria their room. I went inside the bedroom and started to unpack.
While I was unpacking Maybell walked in and went straight into bed.
"Seems like you're tired, do you want me to unpack your stuff?" I asked
"Nah, I'm good. I'll unpack in a second," Maybell answered
After I finished unpacking I searched in my backpack for the note Celine gave me. When I found it, I realized the note had the Reneenix symbol.
"Maybell come here," I said
"What do you want?" Maybell asked
"The note Celine gave me has the Reneenix symbol on it," I said
"Who's Celine?" Maybell asked giving me a weird look
"Oh, right you don't know. So you remember Evelyn right? So Evelyn wasn't her real name, her real name is Celine," I said looking at Maybell's confused face
Maybell grabbed the note out of my hands and read it. She gave me a concerned look which really confused me. Maybell then showed me the signature at the bottom. I was shocked when I saw the phoenix king's signature at the bottom.
"I don't think we were meant to see that," I said
"Should we show the others?" Maybell asked
"Not yet, the others are still thinking about the war and Chris's death. I don't think it's a good idea to give them another thing to worry about," I responded
Maybell nodded and put the note back in my backpack. Before we knew it was already midnight and we could finally get some sleep.
