Chapter 3 - Dinner and a Talk

After a few hours, the maid that was assigned to him and his room came to his door and knocked and waited for acceptance to enter. "You may enter", said Rigel. He knew the maid would tell him dinner was ready and the others were getting ready too. "My lord, the dinner has been prepared, and his and her majesty the king and Queen would like to invite you to join them. I have prepared some acceptable clothes for you to wear. Would you like help putting them on?" the maid help a set of fancy clothes for dinner in hand as if displaying them. Rigel said "I wont need help now or in the future to dress myself, and if you can prepare a set of city clothes, I would like to go into the city to the adventures and Tradesman Guilds. Also thank you for thinking of the clothes for dinner, I never would have prepared."

After taking the clothes from the maid, Rigel went to the changing area in the room and put his clothes on. He tossed the cravat aside as they did not feel to comfortable to wear. While dressing he thought of all the clothes he had designed while he was sick. He felt the many dresses he designed would be better for the world here. "can you prepare a blank drawing book and some pencils as well, so I can draw a few things?" Rigel asked. "Yes, my lord." Said the maid. She walked him to the small dining hall and then left to prepare for the two tasks he had assigned to her, and the king had already said to prepare whatever he wanted. She did as was told and left his side to complete the task.

Rigel walked into the dining room and looked around. When his eyes landed on the king, he stood up and patted the seat close to him. His seat was to the right of the queens spot, and she was head of the table. The king held the position of head of the militia directly under the queen. He had power, but the queen directed it. He was loyal to the crown. When Rigel sat down the king introduced him to the queen and the infant brother of the princess. He looked very similar to the young princess, and smiled when Rigel looked at him. When Rigel smiled back to the child, he game a small giggle and coo. He was a baby, but the grandparents favored family dinner time as it provided a way to keep a connection between them all.

Rigel bowed properly to the king and queen as the maid taught him before leaving the room. His brain retained all information and stored it in a way he could bring it up for reference again and again. "I greet her majesty the Queen and his majesty the King. May the peaceful kingdom prosper and flourish in the reign of her majesty." Rigel stayed bowed until the queen said to rise, though that didn't take long. "you may rise Rigel, Please have a seat and relax. We are in the personal dining room in this castle. It is the informal dining room for friends and family." "thank you. I wish to talk about some things with the king and queen later after dinner, if that wont be a problem I wish no one else to hear as it will be a matter of my life." The queen nodded and told her assistant to clear and provide a silencing spell for her office.

Dinner passed with laughter and enjoyment as the children were fed and Rigel even got to hold Ceciel, the princesses younger brother. After dinner as the kids were gathered around Rigel, playing, Kiada booped her brother on the nose lightly but when he got an offended look Rigel knew the boy was up to something. After a few seconds the boy started crocodile tears and crying, waiting to his sister to lean in and when she did, he got a handful of hair and pulled her in to eat it. She wasn't mad but everyone who was a witness did laugh under their breaths.

With a look from the Queen, Rigel knew it was time to have the talk with the king and Queen. They were lead to the queens office and sat in the chairs for the meetings. After a second of pause, Rigel started. "Your not going to believe me, but ill show proof and tell you all I can at the end, so please listen to it all," after a slow nod from them both, Rigel continued, "I am not from this world," Rigel stated with the hardest part of the entire conversation, the disbelief made him continue. "I come from a planet called earth. My country had advanced pretty far and the death caused by many diseases and accidents can be cured and healed by our technology. We didn't have magic or potions to heal ourselves, but had to wait for the human body's' natural factors to make us not sick. The vaccine to many sicknesses help to prevent even catching them. We had war but used metal things to shoot out other smaller metals to kill or maim our opponents. Other methods were used. Though we had no magic, our people still developed to have large metal structures to live in and shop from. We had places to sleep and cook, and others to shop and work in. we did not have a monarchy or any king or queen in our country at the time I passed away. I wanted to tell you that since I need to build a level of trust with you to be sent to the human kingdom to live. When I was in that world, I was dying from a sickness. It had spread to far that when it was found, it was already to late for my worlds drugs and doctors to fix. As I was laying in my bed, a spirit from the human kingdom came to me and asked my to save the princess who had run off, and to save his parents from a fate unbefitting the ducal family. The Fostain Kingdoms duchy will be wiped out by a usurper by the end of the year if I don't prevent him from even getting to the family.
