A sharp knock on the door pulled Zoe out of his slumber. Still half-buried in drowsiness, he shuffled across the floor to answer it. Blinking against the light from the hallway, he found Zia standing outside.
"What are you doing here so early? Didn't Rui see you?" he asked casually, eyebrows raised at the unexpected visit from his cousin.
"Brother… are you a pervert?" were the first words out of her mouth—jolting Zoe fully awake. She eyed him from head to toe. "Why are you wearing women's clothes?"
"What!" His mind caught up with the situation a second later, and horror flashed in his eyes. Grabbing her by the wrist, he hurriedly pulled her inside and shut the door with a sharp click. "Shh!"
"Dada…" The sound of movement on the bed drew his attention. The commotion had woken Yuan.
"Dada!" Zia turned, staring at Zoe with disbelief.
"It's not what you're thinking," he muttered hastily.
