Chapter 50 - Chapter 50 – A stupid minion makes a move.

[Heath's POV]

We are not getting married just yet —famous last words. Her beautiful eyes glare at me, and the only thing I can think of is our new lives as newlyweds.

Because yes, we did get married in Vegas, "Oh lord, they are going to kill us." Fiona grumbles.

The phone rings for the umpteenth time; it must be our friends. I can feel their anxiety and anger even before answering the phone.

"We have to answer that," I say cautiously, getting married in Vegas wasn't really my plan, but I wasn't against it; Fiona, on the other hand, was not ready to get tied up, untraditionally at that.

"I know, Heath," she sighs before watching the video of us getting married again.

"We could divorce, you know."

"That is not my problem, Heath," Fiona says, "My problem is that she is here."

"Whose here?"

I say, glancing at the phone, finally noticing Esther's angry face behind our drunk cheers.

How was she able to get here? Where is she now? Is she watching us?

This was the spook I wasn't expecting. Immediately after knowing Esther was here with us, I had to make sure everyone was on high alert.

"What do you mean?"

"She is living in the room downstairs from yours; she checked in just after you did," Mr. Simmons says, confused, showing his wife the photo of Esther.

"She checked out a few minutes, though," his wife added.

She is closer than I thought. How helpless am I? I can't sniff out that evil woman, even with the money and influence; she still outsmarts me.

"I am sorry, we will need to check out early," I said. It was an angry growl that Mr. and Mrs. Simmons were not confused. "She has been stalking my girlfriend…. The wife, for a long time, tried to kill her once. We are trying to find her."

I had to get Fiona out of this country soon, even if I could make as many calls as I could to help search for this woman; she was in danger here.

"Fiona, let us pack. We need to get to the airport," I yelled, rushing back to our room. The Simmons, though disheartened, didn't fight it.

My wife's life was in danger, and I had to prioritize that, and they all understood.

We had driven to the airport in pure dread. Well, I was in dread. Fiona, on the other hand, was just angry.

"She is so lucky I was drunk then, I could have broken all her teeth. I am so pissed that she slipped through the second time," she kept grumbling in pure anger.

It gives me a bit of peace of mind that she is not scared of Esther the way I am.

"I am sorry things ended up like this," Gabriel says.

"It is not your fault, it is Esther's fault. Wait till I get my hands on her. She will be so sorry," Fiona says. "Besides, after we sort her out, we will be back here, so don't sweat it."

"You will be our personal driver then," I added.

"It will be an honor."

We arrived at the airport soon after saying our goodbyes to Gabriel, who seemed to have got a new customer.

We were quickly helped with a flight back home, using my connections, and using the crisis we were in, it was a breeze.

"It pays to be rich, doesn't it?" Fiona teases.

"Careful, the man stealer might be stalking us now and will be planning to kill us," I tease back, which she brushes off.

"She can watch," she joked before burying her face in my neck.

The flight was purely peaceful, with lots of cuddles from my wife, who hasn't addressed our marriage yet.

But that was short-lived, because the moment we landed, Fiona insisted on going to the bathroom and went missing right after that.

I had already searched everywhere, with the security helping with the search, checking for surveillance.

She was nowhere to be seen, but a clear image of my mother with huge luggage getting out of the bathroom was displayed on the surveillance.

It seemed Esther had found a stupid minion. "Dammit!" I cursed.
