[Fiona's POV]
Going back to the place where all this madness happened felt surreal: "We are here!" Selby screams, rushing to the ship's dock.
After everything was resolved, Heath suggested that we start having cruises every year, and after much back and forth, we all agreed in the end.
It was a good way to refresh ourselves, though our schedules had been crazy; the day was finally agreed upon.
Selby and her husband were already drinking with each other under the table as we arrived. Clover was giggling away, happy that this time around she got to drink along.
"You have been having non-alcoholic beverages for a while now, Fiona. What is wrong?" Gian says, shocking everyone.
I couldn't help but smile, since this time around I am the one expecting. "Pregnant women don't drink, Gian," Heath smugly says.
"This calls for a double celebration," Selby shouts, "keep the drinks coming, I will be drinking double for me and my pregnant friend."
The trip is amazing, excluding the stupid morning sickness; I love every moment of it.
But one thing is for sure, it helped bring us together again. When we return, the girls check up on me more often.
And Clover takes me to doctors' appointments when Heath is not available. Soon, I take time off work as the baby is close, and Heath does the same.
From the first contraction to the time the baby is born, I have one problem: I will never have a child again.
But our baby girl is very beautiful with our little light, but I hadn't relaxed before I felt the pain of childbirth again. "What is going on?" Heath yells, watching me in agony.
"The other child is coming," a shock of the century, because I remember clearly that we were told that we were having one girl.
Zira and Beacon, and Duncan had to rush home to change nurseries so it could be fit for two babies.
Zira was a crier, but Beacon was a different story, probably why he was able to hide for all of my nine pregnant months.
But as they grew, Beacon became more of a crier, and Zira was no less a crier; instead, Zira was the protective big sister who would beat up anyone who bullied her brother.
[A few years later]
I can't believe this. 25 years ago, we had raised these two for 25 years, and there was never any trouble, but it seems trouble has been found.
"The kids are here," Heath tells me. I could hear Zira's enthusiastic voice.
We had always gone on the cruise with them, but it seemed that now they needed to go on their own.
"But how are we going to spend time together now since you threw us out of your house? This cruise was the only way to spend time with you two." Zira
"We are getting old, plus I threw you out of my house because you had a problem with me kissing my wife in my house," Heath argues.
Zira was Daddy's little girl, but as much as she was her father's child, she was one to challenge him more.
"We understand, mom's health comes first," Beacon says, the more mature one. Zira took a lot from me, from my impulsiveness to decisiveness.
"Ugh…. Fine, we will go without you," Zira says. Maybe this will make them have their own tales; they will find their destinies on the cruise, their own cruise to hell.
