Chapter 33 - Cage Fight

Tyler and the monster advanced toward each other. Their claws clashed and created a wave of opposing energy.

Delmira couldn't take her eyes off the mesmerizing battle. She felt something within her as her thoughts went amok.

The crystals from his feet came up in a line and covered up his entire kneecap as he slammed the knee into the creature's gut. The monster clawed at his mouth covering and only left a graze on it.

It felt the danger increasing from the human and pushed back. Tyler let out a dry laugh at the monster and made a row of triangles. The monster quickly dodged to the right and made a sharp turn toward Tyler again.

It bit into Tyler's shoulder and made pyramids stab into its side. The pyramids exploded and the creature let out a painedgrowl as it pushed backwards.

"If this drags on I'll be at a disadvantage....think." Tyler thought to himself

The monster used that as an opportunity to propel itself forward and bash the human into the extremely sturdy wall. The human looked at it with an angry glare but revealed signs of his inner turmoil

Tyler planted his feet strongly on the ground, grabbed onto the monster and lifted it. He swung it rightward into the wall and pushed back its tail. The tail cut his cheek and Tyler fell to the ground.

He made a triangle shield quickly and blocked the monster's counterattack. He pulled away from his shield and advanced, made a cone and stabbed the creature again.

"Aren't you tired?" Tyler groaned

CREAK

The monster, human and canine paused at the unknown sound. They looked at each other and found the others were just as confused as they were.

The walls started to push closer and tears ran down Tyler's cheeks. Delmira gaped at the unexpected development and wondered if she should continue being a spectator as the mood shifted.

It was like a flip switch in Tyler's brain and his mind was blank. Giant handprints appeared on the walls and he dodged an attack from the monster.

It was either he died from a crushed energy core, was killed by the monster or was squashed.

"So annoying," Tyler mumbled

He picked up voices in the air. Multiple semi-circles enveloped Tyler as he listened to the conversation.

"Will this deal with them?"

"Obviously, no one can escape Lord Puzzles work."

Tyler's pupils turned vertical and his blood pressure spiked.

"That's the person screwing with me?" Tyler cursed "Damn it!"

The monster and everything else were pushed by Tyler's energy wave as he lost control of his emotions. Blood poured out of his wounds as he cursed the unknown person, Lord Puzzles.

"What will we do?" a voice asked Tyler

Tyler frowned, "Why are you asking the obvious? I'm going to make him regret toying with me."

The monster forced itself forward and ate its companion to gain more power. It pushed forward and bit into Tyler's side while he was distracted by talking to the voices.

He let out a scream as its fangs punctured very important organs. Tyler made his body create electricity and electrocute the monster but it didn't let go of his side.

Tyler didn't even have time to reprehend himself for making a rookie mistake. No matter what he tried the creature wasn't letting go of his flesh and some bones. The floor was painted red and Tyler was feeling dizzy.

Delmira weakly barked at Tyler whose eyes were becoming dimmer. She tried to walk over to him but she fell over. She got up to fall again and tears ran down her eyes

The walls were moving faster because of the red lubricant. Tyler made several hoops appear as something within started to grow. The centre of the hoops glowed, and a thick branch stabbed into the creature slicing its tail off.

BARK

She saw the light in his eyes grow as violet appeared underneath his orange eyes.

"GET THE FUCK OFF ME!!!" Tyler yelled grabbing a hoop

The hoop spat out a pillar of fire, grabbed another and hit it onto the creature's head. It finally released its grip due to it being severely injured on the head. It lost balance because of the severed tail and was moving in an awkward manner

The thin layer of crystal that was on his body was already cracked and bloody. He wasn't in good shape either. He was hearing voices shouting as walls were pushing Delmira toward the fight.

Gas started to enter the small space and the monster somehow lunged accurately at him. He raised his hands and hoops circling each other appeared. Tyler's eyes looked at the incoming monster, Delmira was worried but saw Tyler smile widely.

"I'll take....your memories." He grinned broadly

The monster disintegrated with tears in its eyes and turned into a crystal hoop. Tyler smiled as he looked into the monster's memories with fascination.

"The hassle was worth it. I suppose...hmm." Tyler chuckled and turned to look at Delmira

Delmira thought, "Why did I worry about a crazy person?"

Tyler listened to the gears in the walls, his eyes glowed and lines sliced them up. The walls fell and Tyler looked at the two men outside. They tried to run but hit Tyler's shield.

"Will you tell me everything you know?" Tyler sighed "Please don't make our night any longer."

"We won't-" they began

Tyler interrupted, "I understand."

They disintegrated into plain two-dimensional triangles and Tyler snapped them into pieces.

"Their minds were wiped clean before I could extract their memories." Tyler explained to Delmira

Tyler let go of his façade, fell to the ground and vomited blood. Sweat was running down his brow and his body trembled slightly.

"Let's go home, Del." Tyler smiled "Please help me, I think I'm dying."

Delmira sighed, transformed and limped over to Tyler. They helped each other into the forest with Delmira using her nose to locate the house. Tyler looked at his phone where a message was marked as read.

"At least it wasn't all in vain." Tyler smiled making the communication tower explode
