Di Tou was unfortunately in a rigged race. What he needed to do was get to the other side of the ocean as fast as possible… establishing his connection with his Spiritual Palace so that his Spiritual Palace could reinforce him and help his body in the real world. In stepping into the Spiritual Palace Realm, he would finally be able to walk 'freely' in this world… well, at least somewhat freely. The Heaven's weren't that much of a pushover. Still, compared to his current state, it would indeed be a big jump forward.
But alas, the Heavens would also be more triggered, and would send over more and more resistance the more Di Tou extended forward, connecting with his Spiritual Palace, as the closer his Spiritual Palace was to fruition, the more his 'real' Spiritual Palace would take influence on the world, which the Heavens would naturally notice.
It was like a footrace where the competitor would also get a free step every time you took a step, on top of taking their own steps!
