Chapter 13 - Sister in law?

He rose, he awoke and he never felt so relieved.

It hadn't been that long, he didn't have the same lethargic feeling he had years ago.

A thought so relieving, because with the passing of time he had realised there where some thing worth waking up for.

Stumbling up, he did feel way more sleepy than usual, way more tired.

Maybe it had been days, that would be fine in comparison with years, he did hope it wouldn't happen again.

"Your majesty?"

Did they return to the castle, was the queen here, awaiting his awakening with worry hidden behind stern eyes?

"Your majesty?"

Why isn't she answering?

Godmother never had time for games but nonetheless he went ahead and went to the direction of the shower.

"Your majesty, I am entering."

Adrian frowned, only now he noticed the tiles are different, harsher compared to the smooth ones of his home.

The sink his hands racked ever were of material he had never seen, darker than anything made in both his lives.

It was...unsettling...even more so when he splashed water on his face and his face didn't feel like his.

With wide eyes he rose and as the door opened his eyes landed on the mirror a bit farther off.

"Your majesty, are you alright?"

He paled, it hadn't been the queen but him the voice spoke to.

Well not him but the person's who's skin he was wearing, whose body he was dragging around.

Pale, wide eyed and entirely different from his own. The only thing the two of them had in common where the waist length silver hair.

Gulping, he spoke, adjusting to the situation he found himself in.

"What is it?"

"Lord Hawkings has filed a formal complaint over your treatment of the disposed Queen."

This was insane, he was answering to him.

"Right, ofcourse he did."

Adrian had no idea what he was speaking of, he didn't even know who he was.

"You may leave, I shall answer his complaint when times allow me too."

"Yes, your majesty."

His... quard..looked doubtful but left.

And when he did, Adrian let go of all composure.

What was happening?!

Who was he? Did he live a third life, was his second already finished?

Did he die, his life as Adrian ended with the night's ordeal, wasn't he supposed to be Immortal?

Panick, worry and anxiety induced made him scratch his arms in a feebly attempt of keeping control.

{Mission assigned.

Owner:Zephyrus.

Mission statement:

In a kingdom where Zephyrus got rid of his war obsessed brother, he has been named cruel tyrant by his people as he took the crown.

Dispose of this title by any means possible.

When succesvol you may return to your previous life.}

So he didn't die, his life as Adrian very much continuing, his life there safe.

But till then, he was stuck until he fullfilled this nonsense like mission.

What even was this, this blue glowy screen infront him? It was the second time he saw it, the first with Aethelstan.

{Memories settling.}

He screamed, his pain torment as his body crashed backwards, right into a vase.

"Your majesty, what is happening?"

Gritting his teeth, he refrained from answering, the life of Zephyrus flashing before this eyes and when he saw it all he understood why Zephyrus ended his brother.

His people got drafted upon reaching a certain age, food kept and given only as payment for their service.

Family's had no other choice, some even blind to the King's cruelty as they praised his brother for his fighting spirit.

But he brought an end to it, found his people more important than a few thousand more acres of lands.

"Your majesty, may I be of assistance?"

Rising, his habits of royalty taking over, he commanded.

"Take me to my sister in law."

There they went, his quard respectful but watchfull.

And he knew what he was talking about, every second of his life as Adrian had been watched.

To monitor him, keep his state of wellbeing in check and all that for his own sake.

At least they said so. He could understand their worry, the quard in charge of Zephyrus however was not worried.

He was gathering.

Clear Zephyrus, get rid of the title cruel.

How does one clear someone?

Showing flaws worked, weak, emotional moments and even hesitation.

A tyrant didn't have need for these emotions.

But someone pretending to be one would hide them, try and fail to get rid of them.

"We have arrived."

But in the end they where only human, just as the rest of his inhabitants.

"Right." He stayed put, in front of the door, looking at it as if he hadn't seen it before.

Wich, personally, he hadn't.

The details were nice, flowers etched upon it, from the edge to the very top.

It wasn't quite a door, he had pictured to the room that was his sister in law's prison.

''Your majesty?"

He talks too much, he already disliked it but he couldn't deny that the other was just right for for his job.

Broad shouldered, tall and muscled.

Nothing exceptional but not ordinary either.

A perfect fit it seemed.

''Let's go back.''

Without bothering to wait for anything he turned and left.

Right back to his bedroom, where he closed the door with a bit more vigor then intended.

But emotions do take a toll and he was still adjusting.

Zephyrus, that's the name of the body now his.

A name he has to make good.

A name that had to be etched into history as good, killing his brother a necessity for the survival of his people.

So he disposed of his brother, detained his brother's wife, who was Queen and then let his nephew run away.

Said nephew the true heir of the throne and almost eligible to it.

Sighing,he dragged himself to the bed and fell on it with a huff.

His silver hair no doubt a mess but he didn't care.

''Your majesty, lord Hawking's has called a meeting.''

Groaning aloud, he ignored the other by hiding his eyes beneath his arm.
