Brook wondered the island he was on. It was quite nice and had a snowy feel to it, a winter type island. Brook chuckled at his own joke.
This island was a decent size but only held one village due to the mountains terrain preventing farming. Besides that there were forests that spanned the majority of the island.
Brook was not concerned about his safety since the people thought of him as an odd man or specter that would pop up randomly in the five nations. People didn't bother him while he was wearing his jacket and hat that shadowed his face and his his skeletal body. There is even a song about him called the timeless wanderers, since the first recorded appearances he made were around the time off the warring states.
Brook was looking for a place to play some music on his violin. He found a place on a rock and was about to play when he heard something. 'Swords clashing?' Brook thought deciding to go check it out.
He arrived to see a small house burning with several villagers welding an assortment of weapons and tools along with some mist ninja. There were a few bodies around and a woman that was standing protectively infront of a child wielding a katana. She had long brown hair and tan skin while the child had white hair and pale skin. The only thing similar was there eyes. They were black.
"You managed to kill two of our companions with your sword skills, impressive." One of the reaming 3 ninja said. They were all around chunin level from what Brook could sense.
"Why...he...he...did you come?" The woman asked exhausted. The same shinobi laughed at that question.
"You married a survivor of the Kaguya clan and that bold holds there kekkei genkai. As of someone wouldn't notice whore." He said simply.
'Kaguya clan, well that explains this mess.' Brook thought. He was wondering if he should go down and save them, but they would be hunted down unless by some miracle they made it out, which was unlikely.
Brook was about to leave when he shaw the woman take a familiar stance. 'No! That's....'

The woman sent the flying slash at the leader which cut his chest but didn't kill him. The ninja and civilians backed up wondering what had happened as Bdook was shocked.
'The one sword style?! Even though it was just an imitation I thought it died out long ago, I must save her, if the teaches of the old world are still around I have to know!' Brook thought as he had started running to towards them, though he was quite a distant away and would take a while to reach.
The mother looked at her child and smiled before saying one word, "Run." With that said she said before sheathing her blade and taking a stance.
(One sword style- Shishi Sanson)
She rushed forward and killed the leader but ended up being surrounded be the remaining ninja. 'I'm sorry, my son.' she thought as she saw this.
"Leave her ALONE!!!" the boy shouted as a red aura burst out of him and covers the entire field. Brook stopped and stared in shock and awe as the shinobi halted and villagers collapsed. 'Conquers Haki.' Brook thought rushing towards them even faster.
The mother and shinobi stood shivering as the aura died down. The Shinobi glanced at the boy and one shouted out. "Kill them, kill them now!" two shinobi went for the boy while two went for the mother.
'No.' the mother thought desperately as she watched the two shinobi close in on her son. 'I'm sorry Ryu..'
Her thought were interrupted as as the shinobi were all slashed and killed in an instant. She watched with tired eyes as she saw a man in black with a sword appear in front off her son. "The timeless, wanderer." she said as she fell down only to be caught.
She looked up at the shadowed face that loomed above her. "Don't worry, your not going to die." the voice said. She just smiled and believed since the voice sounded so sure.
"Thank you. Take care of.....and train my son. He's a good boy." The figure nodded. "I will." She smiled once more before drifting into unconscious.
Brook looked at the woman and started to tend to her injuries with his medical kit, although not a doctor by trade and unable to produce yang Chakra he was very skilled with his knowledge and practice. He worked quickly as her injuries were more severe then he originally thought. "Will my m-mom be alright." a quiet voice asked. Brook looked over and saw the child, the one that he promised to train, and the one that holds conquers haki.
"I have to take her to my home were U have more equipment to make sure, but she's stable. That's good." Brook said and then glanced at the boy. "Whats your name?"
The boy seemed to hesitate at Brooks question. "Kaguya Ryuma." The boy said tensed.
Brook just looked at the boy before picking up his mother and started walking away. 'The boy isn't following me.' Brook observed. "You coming, the sooner we get to my ship the sooner we can get to my home to get your mother treated." Brook said knowing the boy would follow.
The boy started following as they went in the direction of Brooks ship. 'I will make you worthy of your name.' Brook thought as he glanced at the boy following him.

In case your wondering since I know this question will pop up; yes Brook has Chakra, and he currently around the same level as the Raikage in terms of Chakra. Mostly due to his long life. The boy is not a D, but there will be one appearing by the chunin exams.
