Chapter 128 - RDD 127

RDD 127

"Dajjy, why is Mommy acting salty?"

After eating, we usually have a family bonding by watching a movie or telenovelas.

This time, because I made my wife mad, I had to lower my head and let her choose what movie we should watch. Even the kids tried to protest but they were weak against their mother. They were afraid of her more than me.

"Your Mom eats chocolate so she is depressed."

"What? It should be the opposite. Chwocolate is delicious! She should be happy!"

Sophia was confused and glanced at Penelope who was currently choosing which movie to choose.

Even though our family was not that wealthy, my job as a taxi driver was better than others. Because of my occupation, we had a good lifestyle. Once a week, if possible, we bought a brand new or second-hand videotape to watch movie. Sometimes, we rent them.

I stroked my daughter's hair while we both watch Penelope rummage through the thick videotapes.

"Here."

At last, after a few minutes of rummaging, she found something to watch... It was The Bodyguard starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.

She then proceeds to put the videotape into the VCR player.

"Are you sure about this movie? I remember there's a kissing scene in this movie?" I whispered to my wife after she sat down next to me.

"I'll take care of it. I'll cover the kids' eyes."

I sighed and let it be. My parents had the same attitude whenever there was an improper scene in a movie. They would cover my eyes.

Sometimes, there was an instance that a movie would have some questionable scene and the parents didn't have any idea of that.

The best example might be Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The blending of animation and live action was amazing but the movie had a very dark theme. Furthermore, even Jessica Rabbit was too 'sexy' for a kids' movie. Note that the movie was PG-13. A fucking PG-13.

When I first watch the movie as a child, I thought it was a children's movie... But when I saw Jessica Rabbit's figure, I immediately became a 'man'.

Ehem. Let's add the Disney animation's Hunchback of Notre Dame. This movie was rated G, by the way... Yet the first sequence of the movie was about a mother dying and her baby almost thrown into a well. That movie was rated G, I repeat. Honestly, the movie was not meant for kids. The theme of the movie was dark.

MPAA was smoking shit to pass the movie as Rated G at that time. Perhaps they were sucking Walt Disney's dick. Because the dick riding was so immense, it was clear that they were biased.

As for The Bodyguard, there was no too much dark scene. I believe that telenovelas were much darker than The Bodyguard.

"Are you going to say something?"

"Nope, if watching The Bodyguard will make you better, then I will watch it with you."

I smiled and held her hand. Penelope blushed but intertwined her fingers with mine.

"... Humph!"

The movie started and we watched it together, although Roman was too busy with his game. He never looks at the television not even once.

When that certain kissing scene was getting near, I decided to take the kids to the kitchen and let them choose our snacks.

Because Sophia was still craving for chocolates, I didn't have a choice but scoop a handful. Roman decided to go with salted peanuts.

When we returned to the living room, that scene ended. Penelope kept her eyes on the screen even though she already watched the movie so many times.

"If her infatuation with romance movies will not stop, I bet she will try to buy Titanic next time. We still haven't watched that movie."

Well, I watched that movie back in my past life so I knew the plot. But it was different for my current life.

While we were watching, I heard Sophia yawning. It seemed that Sophia was not interested in this kind of movie.

"Are you getting sleepy?"

"Hm, Dajjy, when will I get older?"

Huh? Where did that question come from?

"Sweetheart, why are you asking me this?"

"Because you and Mommy can do want you to do without restraint. I want to watch movies without getting scared of Mommy."

... Alright? Did she think that she will stop getting scared of her mother once she became an adult?

I have to say sorry because that will never work. I'm an adult, and I can testify with 100 percent, I'm still scared of my wife.

"Sophia, I'm sorry but you will always be scared of your Mom."

"Why is that?" She looked at me innocently.

"Because she is your Mom."

"I understand."

She nodded. As if she realized that her struggle was futile. No matter what age, kids would be scared of their parents, especially if they love their parents.

Just like me... I'm scared to see my father because I knew that I failed to prove myself. Almost six years passed and I achieved nothing. I'm afraid that my father will berate me once he found that I'm living my life. I didn't regret it though.

I reached for my wife's hand and she leaned on my shoulder.

"Honey, Sophia wants to grow fast."

"Sophia is going to be 2 years old next month."

"Eh?" I was slightly shocked.

Now that I think about it, today is March 24, 2000. Only seven days before the month of April.

Sophia's birthday is April 17. She is going to be 2 years old next month! Perhaps I was too busy because I forgot about it.

"Keith... Did you perhaps..."

Penelope narrowed her eyes and glared at me.

"O- Of course I remember! We are talking about our daughter!"

I defended myself and hugged Sophia who was currently getting sleepy.
