Chapter 29 - REAL ROMANCE

Behind Closed Doors

Cousin 2 (frustrated, pacing):

What the hell were you thinking when you said yes to the party?

Wife 2 (sarcastic, arms folded):

Hmm... maybe I was thinking... about the party?

Cousin 2 (angrily):

This isn't funny!

Do you even realize what's at stake?

If Ishana suspects anything weird between us, she might back out of the wedding.

She could lose all faith in the idea of marriage!

Wife 2 (calm but firm):

And what if she shouldn't get married?

What if the guy she's marrying is like you?

Wouldn't that just ruin her life?

Cousin 2 (defensive, snapping):

Stop cursing her future! She'll have a happy married life.

And if her fiancé ever treats her badly—

I'll personally cancel the wedding!

Wife 2 (hurt, voice rising):

Look at you! So protective when it comes to her.

What about me?

I'm someone's sister too! Don't I deserve protection?

Cousin 2 (coldly):

If your brother really cared,

he would've already figured out what kind of hell this marriage is.

I'm not like your brother.

Wife 2 (quietly):

No... you're definitely not like him.

And you never will be.

Cousin 2 (sighing, avoiding her eyes):

Anyway... just act clingy at the party.

Laugh, smile, hold my hand if needed.

She must not suspect anything.

Wife 2 (softly, with genuine emotion):

Ishana's sweet. I care about her.

I'll play along—not for you—but for her.

Because she deserves a real shot at happiness.

Unlike me... she's not marrying someone heartless.

(Cousin 2 looks away, guilty but silent.)

Evening – Terrace Party

(The rooftop is decorated with strings of fairy lights. A buffet table is set up, and upbeat music plays softly in the background. Everyone starts gathering.)

Father (smiling, hands on hips):

Everything's ready!

You young folks enjoy the evening.

Cousin 1 (grinning):

Yep, you should get going now.

This is our party—it's a youth-only zone!

Father (laughs as he turns to leave):

Haha, alright, alright—I was just leaving anyway!

Youngest Brother and Yash, entering excitedly):

Heyyy! Are we all here?

Cousin 2:

Almost.

Everyone's here—except the bride and groom.

Yash (teasing):

What?! Where are they?

Second Brother:

Probably... sneaking some alone time. You know... pre-wedding bonding.

Cousin 1 (laughing):

Ooooohhhh... look at them !

Cousin 2 (mock shocked):

OMG! Before the wedding?

That's some bold romance!

Youngest Brother (grinning):

They're fast!

Wife 1 (smiling softly):

Well, at least they like each other. That's nice to see.

Wife 2 (joining in, hiding her sadness):

Now this is what you call real romance.

Yash (playful, teasing Cousin 2):

Aww, poor cousin-in-law!

Did my cousin never show you that kind of romance?

Hahaha!

Cousin 2 (annoyed):

What the hell are you even saying? Don't you have any shame?

Youngest Brother (grinning wide):

Nope! My shame was taken away the day you all got married.

This is our party, bro. Time to drop the drama and have fun.

Here, we forget about shame—that's the rule of the youngsters' party!

Hahahaha!

(Laughter erupts as the music turns up slightly. But behind the smiles, hidden tensions remain between the couples, unspoken but lingering in the air)
