Third person POV
Two days after that, Atsushi, Basuki, and Myeong are hanging out at the school library since it was lunch time. They had just eaten lunch a few minutes ago. In that one hour of lunch time, they talked about how successful they were in their rescue missions against the beastmen of the Apocalypse. "Yeah, and I just used my Lava Geyser to incinerate two of them," Basuki said to them while recounting one of those times, "and they got incinerated in just seconds."
"That was awesome of you, Basuki-senpai," Atsushi replied back while chuckling a bit. "Saya-chan and I just unlocked a new ability called Aura Ball."
"Oh, that?" Myeong responded to this. "That was a powerful ability, indeed. Those beastmen stood no chance against that."
"Yup!" Atsushi lifted his finger for a few seconds.
"Also, guys," Kai added, "Tō had swung his briefcase of stone to a beast of Matthew, broke its legs, and it returned to him like a boomerang."
"Ah, that's so cool," Atsushi chirped. "If I were to say that to Yuichiro-kun in the IDA, he won't believe that and thinks I am making that up."
Then, one of the Red Scarlet Army soldiers came to the library and said to them, "Hey, sir wants to see you in his office." Upon hearing that, the three kids looked at him.
"Really?"
"What does he want?"
"Just come with me," replied the soldier.
And so, Atsushi, Basuki, and Myeong stood up, left the library, and went to Yeager's office with the soldier.
There, Yeager informed them of the current status and recent happenings on the Shinoa squad. According to him, Kimizuki and Yoichi were tortured as a way of interrogation and getting information about Yuichiro's recently unlocked ability. The details are a bit graphic and scary, and those details horrified the three kids. It turns out that Yeager had sent a spy to the Imperial Demon Army's headquarters to get and acquire the recent happenings on the Shinoa squad. Konstantine, being the head of the RSA's intelligence section, received the information from the spy.
"What?!" Atsushi commented.
"Oh no…" Myeong gasped in shock.
"How could they?" Basuki added.
"Man, very brutal…" Kai muttered.
"Yes, they used brutal methods to do so," Yeager briefly responded back, "just to extract information regarding Yuichiro's ability."
"No way!" Atsushi shouted. "That one is too far!"
"Yes," Yeager replied back, "but don't worry, they were fine in the end. They managed to survive."
To that, Atsushi, Basuki, and Myeong sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness…"
"That was so close."
"Me too as well."
"Yes," Yeager solemnly responded back, "and those methods of interrogation is not what we do here."
"That was good, Yeager-san," Basuki responded with a positive compliment.
Atsushi then nodded in response.
"Thank you," Yeager replied back. "You three may go now. I just called you here just to inform you guys what had happened to them recently."
"Oh, okay," Myeong replied back while understanding it.
With that, she, Atsushi, and Basuki left the office and continued on their day.
But as they walk down the corridor together, Atsushi said to his friends, "Hey, guys, if I didn't defect to this faction, then I wouldn't be here by now."
"Yeah, that was so true," Basuki replied in agreement.
"If you remained in that faction," Myeong added in concern, "then you would have suffered torture in an interrogation."
"That's right," Atsushi replied back, "luckily I made the right decision to defect here."
The three of them walked together back to the library to use up the rest of their lunch break time. Atsushi revealed to them about the Shinoa squad and its members. Basuki and Myeong understood that and think that they are good people.
