It started off with twitching I noticed in the dead hooker... Literal tons of trash had seemingly crushed her spine but after I removed her Kiroshi synthetic eyes I realized that her broken jaw was twitching ever so slightly.
'Shit.' I thought with a frown as I leaned back and then I drew my heavy pistol down and a sharp gun retort rang out as a thumb-sized hole was blasted into her forehead.
"Well... I sure as hell ain't gonna slot this shit in, even if it would have been quicker." I muttered as I quickly left the trash compactor room where I quickly made my way back up to my apartment.
I began taking apart and scanning all the technology I had collected, including their digital information and software, and putting them on my hard drives. Then with all that information, I first downloaded the latest drivers for the implants before I began using my Omni-Gel to recreate the implants.
First of course was the neural docks and connectors that I upgraded with better optical cables that could transfer data a lot quicker between my implants which were based around my neck. Then I had to add the linking cables that would go under my wrists that would allow me to jack into much of the tech of this world.
But I couldn't really get the best use of the Kiroshi eye's I was able to get until I got a Cyberdeck that would allow my mind to connect to all my tech remotely so I just so skipped that for now.
By the time my surgeries were up, I was awoken in the early afternoon by the sound of my alarm going off making me ground as I brushed my hand across my face as I climbed out of the Autodoc.
"Alright, Jake... It's time to get your shit going." I muttered as I crossed the room towards the line of machines my Omni-Tool had been 3D printing for the majority of the day that were not cluttering my apartment.
They were all miniaturized so they could fit into my space ring but first were three Smelters, six Constructors, two Assemblers, and finally a generator to power all these machines.
The machines were all added to my spatial ring which took up most of its space but with that, I left my apartment again and this time I took a bus down to the southeast part of the city.
First I went past all the buildings and such as I left the main city and abruptly all the buildings were left behind as I passed through a thick metal gate that made me pause and read its sign which stated the gate would be promptly locked at 7 PM and only unlocked at 8 AM.
I was walking into the city dump of Nightcity for the shit they couldn't just burn anyway which included a lot of metal and synthetic stuff. After walking past a number of Scav-looking fuckers that overlooked me due to my clear lack of implants.
I made my way deeper into the trash heap with my face covered in gas mask so I wasn't breathing in all the filth and after a good twenty minutes or so... I jumped into action as I found a large pit in the literal mountain of trash I was walking over like they were land mines.
All the previous machines I made were placed down on thick concrete pads I had stacked in my spatial ring and from there I began the wonderful process of manually shoveling piles of broken and trashed... Literally everything imaginable into the central lines feeding into the smelters.
Meanwhile, I had set my Omni-Tool to begin work fabricating a forklift with a bucket front so it could begin scooping up the trash for me while I continued cleaning up the trash around my line of machinery and then throwing down more large concrete pads onto the ground to extend the foundation of my factory.
Sure without digging up the ground and properly setting up the foundation the concrete pads would sink and probably be an issue... But that was the Jake of the next three weeks' problem.
Today Jake's issue was getting a load of resources done and allowing me to break this world in half while I also make sure I am safe as this world was obviously dangerous as fuck.
When the modest-sized loader bucket was finished I switched from getting the trash to programming what I wanted out of the smelters that had been melting all the metal trash and synthetic materials into their base components.
Then from there, I had the materials shifted to the constructors which then began making more particular parts. And from those particular parts, they went to the assemblers which took all those more intricate pieces and from base trash to Assembler... It took twenty minutes for me to get a single thing of what I wanted.
See I knew the technology here in this world was very susceptible to hacking... And any sign of Ai was a good way to get my ass literally nuked, so I stuck to the dumb technology of Fallout that couldn't be hacked remotely.
One Assembler was making the humanoid-shaped Assaultrons which had powerful lasers built into their heads along with sensors in its chest, shoulders, and hips to record people so even should they destroy it. The Assaultrons would violently explode when whatever destroyed them got close.
The Assaultrons would also act as dumb labor with their powerful mechanical hands that could bend steel as well more importantly.
The other Assembler was creating the much more offensive and defensive machine I planned to have to protect my plant in Sentry Bots. Armed with the most powerful sensors I could pack into them along with heavily upgraded synthetic eyes and motion sensors I wanted them to be able to follow the movements of even bastards using a Sandevistan.
With the Sentrybots being armed with a minigun on one arm and on the other arm they were armed with laser gatling gun that was set to a high electrical load to fry the implants and technology of whoever it shot with its laser.
"Wait... If I just expand the chest and ass area of the bots, I can triple their self-destruction power!" I muttered in wonder as I changed the pattern of the machines so it looked like the machines had a fat ass and huge metal breasts...
But in reality, it was just more composite armor that would be turned into shaped shrapnel as the machines would explode when critical damage was done to the machines.
But hey, just one further step to me making Android waifus in the future... And thankfully I was left alone as the machines were working giving me time to put up triple layers of chain link fencing made out of tungsten so they had a good bit more durability than simple soft steel that was typically used.
With the chain link fencing going wide around the current production area giving my automatic trash collector plenty of space to keep working.
But as the sun began to go down... I was left with a critical decision.
"Do I trust the metal box I printed up to protect me from whatever horrors will come out at night. Or do I need to head back home?" I muttered.
