"Hmph. This Lin Feng really has some strength," a young man in crimson robes muttered from the Fire Pavilion's upper balcony. His eyes were filled with resentment. "But how dare he compete for the woman I desire… You—go settle this."
He pointed toward a cultivator in a yellow robe — a Third Grade Heaven Realm expert.
---
The injured young man swallowed the healing pill and disappeared in a streak of golden light. He knew better than to stay after she had intervened.
Moments later—
Whoosh!
A new figure descended, radiating fiery qi. "Hmph! How dare you barge into the Fire Pavilion and injure one of our disciples?" the newcomer barked, his aura pressing against Lin Feng like a wave of molten steel.
Lin Feng's gaze turned cold. "You people never learn."
Boom!
His battle intent and sword intent erupted simultaneously, shaking the courtyard. Before the man could even react, Lin Feng shot forward, his body blurring like lightning.
Bang!
The man's arm exploded in a shower of blood, and his body slammed into the ground, carving a crater.
"If you've got any guts," Lin Feng said, voice echoing across the plaza, "then show yourself instead of sending these weaklings one by one."
The wounded cultivator coughed blood. Damn it… I can't do anything to him. I'm only a First Grade Heaven Realm expert. I have to tell Senior Brother about this.
Lin Feng smirked. "Knew you wouldn't show yourself. Coward."
Fatty, standing beside him, couldn't hide his admiration. "Boss, you're really powerful! At this rate, you'll be the ruler of the lower realm someday!"
"Lin Feng, that's enough. End it here," an Elder of the Fire Pavilion finally said, appearing to defuse the situation.
The surrounding disciples whispered in disbelief.
"I can't believe he's not being punished."
"Even a Third Grade Heaven Realm expert isn't his match…"
"He's a monster…"
Within hours, word spread like wildfire across the lower realm. The bounty on Lin Feng's head was doubled, and his name once again became the center of every conversation.
"God of Death Lin Feng — he's a monstrous genius!"
"He defeated a Third Grade Heaven Realm expert while still in the Xiantian Realm!"
"He's the first in the entire lower realm to do it!"
---
The courtyard quieted once the crowd dispersed.
"That's no problem," Lin Feng said lightly, brushing dust off his robe.
The Elder nodded and left.
Yang Busi approached, her eyes glimmering behind her veil. "God of Death, you've really surprised me. I didn't think you'd become this powerful in just one month."
Lin Feng smiled faintly. "So, what do you need from me?"
She crossed her arms. "Hmph. I need your help to obtain a Legend Grade Treasure."
Lin Feng tilted his head. "Just a Legend Grade treasure? I have plenty."
He opened his spatial ring and casually pulled out several glowing treasures, their light reflecting in her eyes. "Take your pick," he said with a grin.
Yang Busi's composure faltered. "Damn it… it's not just any Legend Grade treasure. I'm talking about the Stone Fruit."
"Stone Fruit?" Lin Feng frowned.
Fatty's eyes went wide. "Boss, Stone Fruits can boost one's cultivation by three entire grades! But… they don't work on cultivators above the Sixth Grade Heaven Realm."
Lin Feng nodded thoughtfully. "And why can't you get it yourself?"
Yang Busi sighed. "My strength isn't enough. The location will be swarming with Heaven Realm experts. I'm only a First Grade Heaven Realm expert myself."
"I see." Lin Feng's tone softened. "So, where and when will it appear?"
"According to my sources, the Stone Fruit will emerge in five days — in Fire Cloud City."
"Fire Cloud City?" Lin Feng repeated, his brows twitching slightly.
Yang Busi noticed his reaction. "You seem familiar with the place."
"Maybe," he said, forcing a small smile. "Can't remember clearly."
He didn't want anyone — not even her — to know he was from Fire Cloud City. If word reached the Ouyang Family, they would target his clan to lure him out. He didn't fully trust Yang Busi yet.
---
"When are we leaving for Fire Cloud City?" Fatty asked.
"Now. If we hurry, we'll arrive in three days."
"Alright!" Fatty said eagerly.
---
As they traveled across the crimson plains, Fatty grinned. "Boss, you really caught a big fish this time. She's gorgeous."
Lin Feng gave him a side glance. "What big fish? There's nothing between us."
Fatty smirked. "I don't believe you, Boss."
"That's your problem," Lin Feng said flatly.
"Yang Busi," he asked, "how much longer till we reach Fire Cloud City?"
"In a day's time," she replied.
"Good. Let's rest for a while. Fatty — find us some meat."
"On it, Boss." Fatty vanished into the forest, humming as he went.
---
Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. "You can come out now."
The air rippled as a group of men stepped out from behind the rocks. Their eyes gleamed with malice.
Yang Busi's heart skipped. Even I didn't sense them…
"You've got sharp senses, boy," the leader sneered.
"Who sent you?" Lin Feng asked coldly.
"Nobody. We're the Red Flame Bandits," one of them said proudly.
Lin Feng chuckled. "What a shitty name."
"You dare insult our name?! We're the most feared bandit group in this region!"
"Never heard of you," Lin Feng said, tone flat. "Leave now if you don't want to die."
"Who do you think you are? A mere Sixth Grade Xiantian cultivator talking big!"
Lin Feng's gaze sharpened. He quickly scanned them — the strongest among them was only a Second Grade Heaven Realm expert.
"Guess I'll start by killing your leader," Lin Feng murmured.
He vanished.
Bang!
The bandit leader's eyes widened in horror — Lin Feng's fist had already smashed into his head.
Boom!
His skull exploded, blood splattering across the ground like crimson rain.
The rest of the bandits froze. Then —
"R-run!" one screamed.
Within seconds, they scattered in every direction, disappearing into the forest.
Lin Feng bent down and picked up a small jade talisman. "Not bad… they used this treasure to mask their aura."
Yang Busi stared at him, stunned. He just killed a Second Grade Heaven Realm expert in a blink. What will he become when he reaches the Heaven Realm himself?
Noticing her stare, Lin Feng grinned. "Why are you looking at me like that? I know — I'm handsome, right?"
Yang Busi glared, her cheeks slightly red. "You're shameless!"
