The purple energy was naturally Olga's illusion domain. Like Law's Op-Op Fruit's "Room," it's a way of activating her ability.
However, Zoroark's ability isn't limited to being activated only within this domain. Rather, with this illusion domain that belongs to her, Olga can manipulate illusions much more effortlessly.
"Your speed is fast, but what use is a fast attack that can't hit anyone?"
In terms of direct combat strength, Olga is the weakest among the Calamities. Even Jack, who was only recently promoted, surpasses Olga in this area.
When it comes to raw power, Olga ranks at the bottom among the senior officers. And yet, she's seen by outsiders as the most troublesome enemy.
Her perfectly realistic illusions can't be distinguished even by ordinary Observation Haki. Anyone unfamiliar with her powers would be completely toyed with by her. Even those who know her ability well would need a wide, open space to counter her effectively.
Queen's tactics are disgusting; he wears enemies down gradually using poison and Leech Seed, and a variety of bizarre items. Olga's power, on the other hand, makes her completely untouchable.
Against brute-force types like World, Olga has a far higher win rate than Jack.
Especially with World in his current state, where he had lost his composure, and his Observation Haki isn't performing anywhere near its usual level.
Even if his Observation Haki were still above average, he still might not be able to lock onto Olga accurately, let alone in his current condition.
The more he continues like this, the less he'll be able to escape Olga's control. His beliefs will be shattered by illusory perceptions, plunging him into a vicious cycle.
World was a prime example. In his mind, he had already accomplished his goal and was now laughing maniacally.
"Y-You're cough Phantom?"
"Ah, I guess I'm pretty well-known. You recognized me right away."
"Don't joke with me… cough, cough. As one of Kaido's Four Calamities, you guys have long been famous."
Over the years, Byojack had constantly updated his intelligence, gaining a thorough understanding of pirates in the outside world: the Sweet Commanders, the Calamities, Whitebeard's remnants, Red-Haired's officers, and the World Government's Shichibukai.
These are all pirates just below the Emperors of the Sea—great pirates that Byojack had engraved in his mind.
"Sorry, Sister Olga, I had to trouble you to deal with it."
"It's fine. I remember even Captain Kaido had a tough time dealing with World. But Aunt Nightin, your captain isn't much, huh? Seems like just a lunatic to me."
Olga didn't take Hancock's apology to heart and instead brought up the issue with World directly. He was now completely trapped in her illusion, and based on her control of the illusion, there was no way he'd break out anytime soon.
To be precise, he hadn't even realized he was in an illusion yet.
Speaking ill of the captain in front of other crew members is generally a bad idea. Under normal circumstances, a comment like that would cause conflict, but neither Byojack nor Nightin had anything to say; after all, they'd just seen World's madness firsthand.
Not only had he turned his aggression toward Nightin, but he'd even included his own elder brother in his attack.
"These past thirty years weren't worth it for you at all. Why don't you come back with me? That idiot old man still has something to say to you."
"I—"
"Nightin, leave. The current World… cough..is no longer the World of the past. After thirty years of waiting, you now have a better place to return, somewhere that may suit you more."
Slumped on the ground, Byojack didn't try to stop Nightin. Instead, he encouraged her to join another force. Even though World was his biological younger brother, Byojack was clearly disappointed in him now.
"Wait, no, if you just leave like this, Aunt Nightin, you will be branded a traitor for sure. If you're going to leave, then you have to leave with a clean slate.
To be honest, I was the one who just ruined that cannon. We can't let him go on destroying everything endlessly. I plan to use the illusion to make him understand what's really going on. Do you have anything you want me to pass along?"
Though Nightin hadn't yet made a decision, Olga wanted to clear up the misunderstanding first. She had no intention of bringing Nightin back through "deception".
Deception is a tactic meant for enemies. For someone who might be family, she preferred sincerity.
Having once misunderstood Acier for over a hundred years, Olga knew how painful a misunderstanding could be. If things aren't made clear, it can become a lifelong shadow that never goes away. That's why she made this suggestion.
Now that her illusion manipulation had become even stronger, she was fully capable of playing out an entire movie in someone's mind.
"I….I don't know what to say to Captain World."
There was nothing wrong with Olga breaking the cannon. It hadn't interfered with the fight between World and Hancock anyway, and Byojack and the others had already opposed World's insane actions.
It was only because he insisted on doing it that they went along with his craziness.
World's belief that she was a traitor and his merciless attacks had already broken Nightin's heart. Right now, Nightin had no idea what to say.
If World had trusted her, none of this would have happened. The cannon's damage was merely a trigger. Judging by his behavior, World had clearly lost trust in them long ago.
"Cough cough... Let me talk about this.. cough cough, World from back then wasn't like this."
Byojack's thoughts drifted back to decades ago. At that time, he was still young, without so much beard on his chin, though his body was already in poor shape. Unlike World, his constitution had always been weak from birth.
[World, you must go out to sea in the future. This vast sea connects countless nations and islands we've never seen. At the end of this endless ocean, unimaginable adventures are waiting for you.]
[Big brother, won't you come?]
[Cough cough... I've been like this since I was young, so it's just not realistic.]
[Then I won't go either.]
[Do you want to spend your whole life stuck on this little island? Cough cough... The future of this island is already visible at a glance. You should go out, see the world, grow strong, and go to distant places in my stead.]
[Big brother, I want to go with you! Let's travel the world together. I'll protect you!]
"Back then... cough cough... our dream was to travel the world. This was originally just an ordinary journey around the world."
"Years later, World had grown up. He built a small boat and took me away from the island. But we had underestimated the vastness of the sea."
Not long after, their little boat met with disaster. After drifting to another island, they encountered a group of pirates. To protect themselves, World fought enemies for the first time.
And in that battle, he seemed to discover joy in fighting.
Under the name of the Byrnndi Brothers, the World Pirates made a name for themselves. But in the process, their original intention changed.
"Our goal was freedom. But in the pursuit of freedom, we gradually became pirates. Cough cough... Whether it was Marine or World Government ships, World defeated them all, and the title 'World Destroyer' became attached to us.
This ship, the Groseade, was our original dream. I thought that if we sailed underwater, we could avoid unnecessary battles and continue our journey around the world.
But World... cough cough cough..."
Byojack had said too much at once and started coughing violently, leaning back against the machinery and pounding his chest.
It was an old ailment. Nightin could do nothing but take over the unfinished story.
"Captain World believed that a single cannon combined with the More-More Fruit would instill fear in the enemy and make them give up on fighting us. Now that I think about it, he had already changed long ago."
As Byojack and Nightin recounted the past, a chair appeared beneath Olga. Behind her, Hancock was giving her a shoulder massage, completely different from her previous attitude.
"Where did this chair come from?"
"It's an illusion. Although it's fake, I can trick my brain into thinking I'm sitting on a chair. That way, I won't feel mentally exhausted.
But the physical toll is still real. Sitting too long is basically like doing horse stance."
Laziness can also lead to progress. This trick was a training method Olga came up with in her youth; training her ability while also tempering her body. The downside was that it could easily lead to muscle injuries.
"I think I understand now. You guys think World is a good person?"
"No. Walking this path, we're no longer worthy of that word. All I can say is…cough cough, he was a good person, and a trustworthy captain. If it weren't for that incident…"
"Forget it, it doesn't matter. Basically, his issues came from your 'abandoning' him back then, right? Then let's recreate it."
In World's perception, the surrounding world suddenly shattered like a mirror, and he was transported back to the ship thirty years ago. The deck was covered in corpses, surrounded by warships, and several CP agents were ambushing another World.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't see anyone's face clearly. This illusion was crafted by Olga based on Nightin and Byojack's description. The unclear faces were because no one remembered what those minor characters looked like.
And that wasn't the point anyway. What mattered was Byojack's expression as he reluctantly gave the order to retreat; it reappeared before World's eyes.
"Bastards… More-More Hundredfold Cannon!"
World grabbed a splinter from the deck and hurled it forward. Not only Marines and CP agents, but even Byojack and the others trying to escape were within his attack range.
Under World's assault, the illusion shattered again, and in front of him now stood Olga.
"So ruthless, huh? Did you see everything now? This is what your crewmates experienced back then. Also, I'm the one who broke that cannon. Nightin waited for you for thirty years, she even turned down an offer from a stronger pirate crew for your sake."
"So what? I already knew all of that. I didn't lose consciousness back then. If I can't let it go, then I just can't. If I don't take revenge for all of it, I'll never find peace!
You think that showing it to me again will make me forget it?! Everything from thirty years ago… it's all etched into my memory!"
World threw a punch at Olga. His fist connected with something solid, blood even splattered, but Olga reappeared unharmed on the other side.
"Don't get me wrong. I never wanted you to forget anything. I just wanted to help Aunt Nightin explain some things, while also giving you an opportunity."
"But it seems you don't care about this opportunity."
