Chapter 1097 - Forgetting Original Intentions, End of the Voyage!

Will breaking the illusion lead to reality? Olga once again gave a negative answer.

Even if World's brute strength could shatter one layer of illusion, beyond that layer was still another illusion. Countless illusions formed from energy had already surrounded the area, and even World's mental world had been infected by the power of these illusions.

No matter how strong he was, in this state, he couldn't break the shackles of his own mind.

"It's useless. Everything you're doing is in vain.

Your speed may be fast, but you don't even know where the real me is. How can you possibly defeat me? Night Daze!"

A blast of dark energy was launched at World by Olga. World intended to use this opening to counterattack, but to his surprise, when he struck in the direction where the pain came from, he still failed to achieve his goal.

In his perception, there was now "another corpse of Olga," yet Olga's follow-up attacks didn't stop.

"B*stard. Hiding and sneaking around. Come out and fight me face-to-face if you've got the guts!"

"Idiot. Who would do something so unrewarding? Only that brute Jack with an elephant head enjoys head-on collisions."

Olga's voice echoed around World, pushing his already volatile temperament even further into madness. But to outsiders, the battle looked completely different.

Nightin knew Olga's ability focused on illusions, and Byojack had seen similar intel before, but the intel on paper was nothing compared to witnessing it firsthand.

In their eyes, Olga barely moved from her spot, only occasionally dodging falling debris or unknown flying objects.

World, however, was like a headless housefly, blindly attacking the illusions Olga created around him.

This was far beyond Byojack's understanding. He had always thought illusions were just visual tricks, nothing close to a real threat.

It wasn't until he checked the ship's monitors to observe World and saw that the illusions were still present that he realized just how terrifying Olga truly was.

When illusions become reality, that's where the real horror begins.

And this is the utterly insurmountable aspect of Olga's ability. For those who can break her illusions or whose physical prowess exceeds hers, defeating her isn't that difficult.

When she encounters such enemies, Olga would simply release a large number of illusionary clones to disrupt their vision and take the opportunity to retreat.

But once someone falls into her vortex of illusions, fully under her control and unable to escape, they become prey. Olga would gradually wear down their stamina in the safest way possible, and find an opportunity to kill them with a single, fatal blow.

World was exactly such a case. No matter how powerful or fast he was, he posed absolutely no threat to Olga.

"I'm asking, don't you guys have any way to calm him down? If this keeps going, I'll really have no choice but to kill him."

Whether killing Nightin's former captain in front of her would affect their future life together, that was the dilemma bothering Olga. Otherwise, she would've killed him long ago.

"More-More Fortyfold Shotgun!"

Before anyone could respond to Olga, World launched an indiscriminate attack, one of the things Olga hated most. Once an opponent started attacking everything indiscriminately, her prized stealth ability became useless.

Everyone's technique of exerting power and the flow of energy during their moves were unique. Olga had no way of faking things she didn't understand.

She couldn't make her enemies believe she had attacked when in fact she hadn't done anything.

And World's indiscriminate attack was just the beginning. He then started furiously punching downward.

"Damn it! Right below here is the engine room. World's trying to blow up the ship... cough cough cough cough…"

Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Just as Byojack finished speaking, a series of explosions rang out from above. The blasts clearly came from the upper levels and had nothing to do with the ship's engine room below.

Hancock's Den Den Mushi rang at that moment, and Sandersonia's anxious voice came through.

"Bad news, sis! It's Akainu, he showed up nearby with a battleship! He didn't listen to my warning and started indiscriminate attacks right away. You need to get out of there quickly!"

The reason for the attack above was now clear. It was none other than Akainu's Meteor Volcano.

As for the Shichibukai, Akainu didn't care about the lives of these kinds of people. To him, all pirates were damned b*stards. Whether someone was a Shichibukai or not made no difference. If a Shichibukai died from the aftermath of his attack, that would actually be a good thing.

"That annoying mad dog again? Didn't he already become the Marine Fleet Admiral? Why can't he just stay put in his office like he's supposed to?!"

"Sister Olga, what do you plan to do next?"

"It's time to retreat. If they find out about our connection, it'll affect our future plans. As for World, just leave him here to die."

"Don't say I'm being heartless. The illusion will lift in two minutes. Whether you can get out or not is your own problem."

"Auntie Nightin, come with me. Your captain is clearly insane. He actually tried to blow up the entire ship."

"Once this ship and the ammunition depot below it explode, no one aboard is getting out alive. Following a lunatic who doesn't even trust you will only drag you down sooner or later."

Leaving those words for Byojack, Olga pulled Nightin, ready to leave. To them, World was never really a threat. There were plenty of people who could take care of him.

Besides, there was still Akainu outside. Though Olga always called him a mad dog, she knew his personality well. World was currently the Marines' primary target.

With Akainu already here, there was no way he would let World escape. Olga didn't know World, so there was no reason for her to help him. An unstable ticking time bomb like him wasn't someone worth recruiting.

Nightin didn't resist either. World's repeated actions had already broken her heart. Thirty years of loyalty and all she got in return was suspicion. That kind of blow would shatter anyone.

The truth was already in front of World, and if he still refused to believe it, then no one could help him.

"Byojack, you should come too."

"Cough cough… No need. No matter what, he's still my brother."

Byojack had no intention of leaving. At this point, the Marines' primary target was only World. The rest of them—aged officers who had disappeared from the public eye for years—had long been forgotten by the World Government and the Marines.

If he wanted to leave, he could. But that thought never crossed Byojack's mind. For the past thirty years, World had been his spiritual anchor.

This ship had also been the vessel of their dreams. Now, World didn't care about his companions for the sake of fighting, even wanting to destroy their former dream altogether. No…this ship was no longer a dream for the current World.

The changed World had already filled Byojack with despair. His aging body had no intention of going on alone.

Byojack was resolute. Olga didn't say another word; she simply took Nightin and left.

Under the Meteor Volcano's assault, the ship gradually caught fire. Feeling the approaching heat waves, Byojack sighed softly.

[The ship is going down. This journey should end now… but that's okay. World, let's start over again.]

According to later Marine reports, the Byrnndi brothers launched a desperate charge against the Marines after being surrounded. In the end, they were overwhelmed and died at the hands of Akainu.
