CHAPTER 3:
FOUR SUPREME BEINGS
On the path of reincarnation; after a short period of time, after the huge hand broke through the void and grabbed Long Chen's soul, the force coming from the gate of reincarnation stopped for a moment and then there was a very terrifying tremor coming from the path of reincarnation. The path seemed to have been looked down upon by the intruder and humiliated. How could someone break the void, kill hundreds of souls then abduct another soul right under it's watch? This was the path of reincarnation where every type of soul from all the worlds has to walk through to experience cleansing and rebirth. No matter if they were demons, gods, buddhas or whatever they were. As long they had a soul and died, they had to pass through this path. But now someone provoked it by killing and snatching what belonged to it. This was it's territory. How could it not get mad?
"Sigh"!
Surprisingly, a sigh that was full of helplessness, surprise and anger came out from the door-like white light. It seemed there was someone in control of the reincarnation cycle and path.
After a moment, everything returned to normal as if nothing happened at all, and the process of soul cleansing and rebirth continued.
In a certain world thousands of galaxies away from Earth, there was a very huge golden palace floating above the clouds in the center of the world.
The palace covered dozens of hectares. It was shrouded in a white miraculous mist like an Immortal palace that made it invincible to anyone who passed by.
Strangely enough, there were beasts and cultivators passing by but no one even sensed the existence of the palace let alone see it. It is as if it did not exist but at the same time seemed to be real but no one knew of it and no one has ever seen it.
It was a strange sight.
In the huge hall of the palace, there were four figures sitting at the end of the hall on huge dragon thrones. The figures had terrifying and sacred aura around them. They seemed to be beyond the human existences like they were gods.
The figure on the right side waved his hand as if capturing something. The space in front of him cracked and his hand went through, then retracted it very fast as if afraid of something.
'woosh'
There was a ripple in the middle of the hall and then an illusionary yet real figure appeared out of nowhere. The figure lay in the middle of the hall unmoving as if it was unconscious. The figure was none other than Long Chen's soul that was captured by the huge golden hand from the path of reincarnation. The moment the hand had captured him, he was hit by an invincible force that made him unconscious the moment the hand touched him.
"Hahaha! Finally, here he is. After waiting for who knows how long, our patience paid. I nearly gave up after waiting so long that I can't even tell how long, but at the final moment we found him. Hahahaha!" A charming feminine voice came from one of the figures on the thrones. It seemed she had been waiting for this moment for a very long time.
"Your voice is so loud that you startled the little guy awake. Can you just be more mature?" The figure that had captured Long Chen spoke in a playful and mocking tone.
"I hope he is the one. If not, don't know how long we will have to wait again." Said one of the figures in a deep blurry voice.
"I believe he is the one. And I know that he is the one. What you guys don't know is that, when I picked him up from the path of reincarnation, he wasn't moving like other souls. It seemed his soul could resist the strange force of the path. The strange thing is, the path seemed to be afraid of him. It didn't do anything even after I took his soul away. I hope you all know what that means." The figure on the right side spoke in an exited and shocked voice.
"What?"
"He…!"
"Oh crap! This is impossible!"
All the figures were astonished when they heard what had happened on the path of reincarnation.
"Hahahahaha! Here he comes."
In the middle of the hall, Long Chen's eyes fluttered and then he woke up.
"Ah! Where am I?" Long Chen stood up and started looking around. At first, he didn't know he was in a huge hall until he saw the ceiling which was so high that he couldn't see the material it was made of. The sight was astonishing that it nearly scared him.
While he was thinking, he noticed four figures sitting at the end of the hall shrouded in mysterious light.
"Mmh? Who are you?" He found those people really strange. If he hadn't seen them, he wouldn't notice that there were people in the huge hall. It was as if they had merged with the surrounding. As if there weren't there in the first place.
"Hahahaha!! Welcome little guy." The figure that had brought him spoke in an elated happy voice.
"You … Are you the one that brought me here?" Long Chen asked. The strange thing is that he wasn't the least bate afraid. Even though he knew that the four figures were really terrifying, he wasn't afraid of them. He started approaching them to get a clear look of who they were.
"Wow! Little guy; aren't you afraid?" Asked the female figure in a charming voice.
"Afraid? Afraid of what? I am never afraid of anything. Not even death itself." Long Chen spoke in a calm and indifferent voice while approaching them. He was really fearless, afraid of nothing.
"Hehehehe! This little one is really interesting. Hey little one. Do you know who we are? We are the Gods of this universe." Spoke one of them in a probing and interested voice.
"Gods? Hmph! Gods, Demons, Buddhas, I am afraid of none of them." At first, Long Chen got startled knowing that the figures were gods. But he then got a bit angry when he saw that the guys were trying to show off themselves in front of him after taking him away from the path of reincarnation by force. If it was someone else, they would be scared shitless. But Long Chen was different, he was never afraid of anything in his whole life in the first place.
"Wow! Hahahaha!! Someone got really mocked by a mortal. This is really interesting. I was never wrong in the first place in choosing this little one. This is the feeling of being fearless and courageous even in front of extreme power. You really impressed me little guy. Hahahaha!" Spoke the one that had brought Long Chen here in a very happy, interested and impressed tone. He looked at Long Chen in a dotting and caring look and asked,
"What's your name little one?"
"Long Chen" He answered in an uninterested tone. But Long Chen wondered to himself, 'Since I found myself here, my behavior and character seemed to have changed. This feeling is as if this is who I am really am. But how can I be fearless in front of this beings? They are so strong that they might harm or kill me right here. But I feel that even if they want to, they can't harm me let alone kill me. This is weird.'
Even though Long Chen's mind was in turmoil, on the outside he maintained a calm and uncaring look. He looked unrestrained. He didn't know that all of this was because his soul became so strong once he was brought in this place. It seemed to have waken or recovered. It was so strong that it could kill the Gods in front of him. But Long Chen didn't know or notice anything. Even the gods noticed nothing at all. They only found his soul really strange, but they couldn't tell nor think of why it was so. It was as if something was preventing them from trying to find out the mystery behind the strangeness of Long Chen's soul.
"This…!" The charming woman was stunned by what she saw. When Long Chen mentioned his name, an aura unique on it's own was emitted from his soul body. A feeling of someone above everything and an unrestrained feeling emitted from him. Long Chen didn't notice this but the woman was always keen on his every move since he woke up.
"This guy is not simple at all." Whispered the woman. Her name was Zhao Yufei. But other cultivators referred her as the Goddess of Nature.
"Not simple? Why do you say so?" Asked the huge burry guy. His name was Shen Tong. He was referred to as the God of War.
"Hmph..! He is just putting on a brave front. I bet he is scared shitless inside." Said the man with a crown on his head. His name was Wu Shuang. He was referred as the Sword God.
"No. Yufei is correct. This guy is not as simple as he looks. There is something mysterious and strange about his soul." Spoke the one who had brought Long Chen here from the path. He was named Jian Cheng. He was the mysterious of them all. They called him the God of Mystery.
"What damn mysterious? It's just an act and yet it fooled you guys? It seems I am the only one with a clear mind and have always been." Said Wu Shuang with a helpless and yet a proud look.
"Old Wu, enough with your nonsense. Hey Long Chen, welcome to the Azure Cloud Continent. It's a world on it's own. My name is Zhao Yufei." Said Zhao Yufei with a sweet charming heavenly voice. She looked young about 18-22 years old and incredibly beautiful. She could charm the whole world with just a simple smile. No man could resist her charm. But strangely enough, Long Chen seemed to be unaffected by her voice. He was way too calm and unconcerned. It seemed that nothing could move his heart or mind in the whole universe.
Even the others beside her, couldn't resist her charms even though they were powerful beings in this universe. Yet, here Long Chen, a soul body from the mortal world, didn't even react to her charming and alluring voice. He couldn't be moved in the slightest. It's as if he had a wooden heart and a steel mind. This sight shocked Zhao Yufei to her core. In her whole life, no one has ever ignored her and no man has ever had the courage to look straight into her eyes and still stay put and unmoved. And here now she had used a charming technique in her alluring voice, adding on her beauty yet, Long Chen stayed unmoved and unconcerned as if nothing happened at all.
'Who is this young man. How can he stay unmoved under my Divine Charming Technique? No, this is impossible. After all he is just a mortal. Even this old men can't resist my charming techniques once I use my Soul Charming Voice technique that I just used on him. Things are starting to get interesting. I am looking forward to what this guy can achieve once we officially start our plan. I hope he won't let us down.' Fairly God Yufei thought to herself as astonishment, excitement and expectations filled her heart.
On the other side, it wasn't that Long Chen was unaffected by the charming voice technique, it was just that his soul was powerful that it directly ignored the attack. Zhao Yufei was too weak for her techniques to even touch Long Chen's soul. That's why he could stay calm because he felt nothing at all.
Suddenly Zhao Yufei seemed to have noticed something strange. When she had executed her technique on Long Chen, the power of the technique just disappeared before it could even come close to Long Chen.
'Why is that so?' She thought to her self in shock. Although she was shocked, she didn't display it on her face. She didn't want the others to notice what had just happened. If they knew that she had just lost to a mortal when she secretly tried to attack him, she didn't want to think of how they would react. She just kept all that to herself.
