Chapter 15 - The Beginning of A New Empire

Alex made her way to the Black Street inside of Greenvale Village. As she made her way through the village, she had the idea that it wouldn't be such a bad idea to find herself a couple more skills to add to her repertoire. As such she headed over to the crowded streets of the village. The reason was that nobody had reached level 10 yet, and as such everyone was still stuck inside of the beginner villages.

"Selling Greenvale Silk, 50 coppers a stack"

"Buying Folenflowers, 1 silver a stack"

The sounds of haggling, and shouting filled Alex's ears until she came upon a small shop tucked away in the corner of an alleyway. The name on the signboard was old, and dilapadated.

The Green Skillshop

Since it had the word "skillshop" in its name it probably sold skills right? At least that's what Alex thought as she walked in the door.

*ding ding

"Welcome to The Green Skillshop where all your dreams come true." A cute little girl said to her whilst standing behind the front desk.

"What's your name?" Alex asked the little girl.

The little girl smiled before responding "My name is Charlotte, miss."

"Charlotte, do you sell skill books here?" Charlotte looked appalled upon hearing this.

"Miss, we at The Green Skillshop sell genuine skills not those disgusting skill books that scammers sell these days."

Alex was stunned. Weren't skill books the legitimate way to gain skills? Thinking back to the game's introduction it seemed that they never mentioned that skill books were the right, or only way to gain skills. "What do you mean by that? Are you saying skill books are bad?"

"Of course they're bad. It's forcefully imprinting skills created by masters to you, and your brain can only handle so much of that trash garbage. Unlike here at The Green Skillshop where you can buy genuine tutoring crystals that will teach you skills." Alex was stunned. So skill books weren't the right way to go?

"Wait what is this tutoring crystal you speak of?" Charlotte broke into a huge smile. "A tutoring crystal is a crystal that will pull you into an individual space where a tutor personally teaches you the steps to learning a skill. We also sell erasing gemstones that will allow you to forget those harmful skillbooks that you've learned. It's great for restarting anew."

Alex nodded happily, "I'll buy 3 erasing gemstones, and can you show me the tutoring crystals available?" Charlotte nodded excitedly, and quickly grabbed the 3 erasing gemstones from the back of the store. Charlotte didn't hesitate to show the store's stash of tutoring crystals for sale. However, there was one major flaw. They were all incredibly expensive. Alex could only afford a single one. As such she browsed slowly.

Eventually coming across the skill [Momentum Charge]

Momentum Charge (Rare)

Cooldown: 3 minutes

Although this skill didn't seem particularly powerful, it did great with her insanely high AGI attribute. As such she bought it, and now Alex was broke.

Using the tutoring crystal caused her to be pulled into a strange space in which there was a hulking man who taught her how to use [Momentum Charge]. He taught her patiently, and slowly, and when she grasped the skill properly she found the skill book version.

Momentum Charge (Rare)

Cooldown: 3 minutes

There was a massive difference between the two. It seemed that Charlotte hadn't lied to her.

And now, it was time. With her skills, and gear intact she walked slowly over to the Dark Street. Everything would start here.
