Chapter 1 - The Final Boss Was A Girl?!

"Hahaha, you are done now, hero. You have no more mana left!"

"UGH."

'I can't die now. I have to save the people!!!'

As the sword imbued with the leftover mana of the Demon King touched the Hero, he felt something stir within him. The Demon King infused all of his mana into the hero's body, causing him to explode from within.

"Finally, I can rest a bit now, haa..." the Demon King said to himself, relieved that he had survived. The Last Demon. The Last Boss...

Crack*

'Who is there?' thought the Demon King as he walked slowly towards the source of the sound. He wasn't going there to fight, but out of pure curiosity and carelessness, after defeating the Hero, the Demon King wanted to know who was there.

Grasps of air are heard now that he has gotten closer.

'Maybe someone was following the hero?'

As he got closer and closer, it was getting louder and louder.

Until it stopped.

'What??' The Demon King rushes to see what's behind the door. He found the body of a young girl lying on the ground. It appeared as though she had fainted out of fear.

The young girl looked like she was 12 years old and had long blonde hair and beautiful blue crystal eyes.

...

"Hmm... AHHHH!!!" The little girl let out a scream as she regained consciousness.

"Are you awake now, little girl?" The girl looked confused as she gazed at the stunning woman standing before her. The woman appeared as if she had stepped out of a fairy tale.

The beautiful lady had long, black hair and was dressed in gorgeous clothes that could make anyone, regardless of gender, fall for her.

"Who?" She asked.

"I found you sleeping in my castle, it seems."

She looked around and found herself lying in an incredibly soft bed, almost lulling her soul to sleep. The surroundings were unbelievably beautiful as if no amount of money could purchase such a place.

"Eh?! But I- I was in the Demon King Castle, watching the hero and the Demon King fight." She then remembered what had happened.

"... Y- Yo- You are the Demon King?" Struggling to find the words, she timidly asked the elegant woman.

The lady looked at her and said with a big smile.

"Yes!!!"

The girl faints again...

"Wait..." She said. But she was already out.

...

As the girl woke up the Demon King tried to calm her down by talking softly and kindly to the girl.

"Hello little girl, don't be afraid I will do you no harm." said the Demon King.

"H-Hello L-Lady." said the girl trembling, avoiding eye contact with the Demon King.

"What is your name?" said the Demon King.

"I-I am Alisa."

"Oh, what a beautiful name Alisa, I am Dara, and I am Pleased to meet you." The Demon King said trying to be friendly to Alisa without scaring her. After a couple of minutes, Alisa gets the courage to speak to the Demon King.

"I am sorry for invading your castle D-Dara." said Alisa still scared.

"Don't worry Alisa, but with one condition." Dara said.

"W-what is it?" Alisa said, still on the bed getting away from Dara and getting the pillows with her making a fortress of pillows.

"Pfft- Hahaha, you don't need to be so cautious of me, I promise that I will not harm you in any way, okay? I need someone to help me find a city of humans close by so that I can go there, and find something."

"A-are you going to destroy the city?!" said Alisa with her hand on her cheeks and worried for the people in that town.

"I'll not do that... I'm gonna become a normal human citizen, live peacefully, and hurt not a single soul." Dara said looking in the eyes of Alisa.

"J-just if you promise!"

"Haa~ Okay, I promise in the name of the demons! - as she said that a pink magic circle appeared in the air."

"Now if I break your promise I will partially lose my magic power permanently. I think that's fair right?"

"Okay, I will trust you." said Alisa looking at Dara's sparkling eyes. She just could not believe that Dara was the Demon Lord, and how easy it was for her to make a promise that could lead to her downfall.

After gathering everything they needed for their journey, Dara and Alisa left the castle. As Alisa turned around to catch a final glimpse of the castle, she found that it had vanished, as if it had never existed.

"What!? Where is the castle?" asked Alisa, even more confused than before.

"I destroyed it silently, so as not to attract any attention. If the Hero does not return to your kingdom, the King will likely send scouts to the Demon King Castle to investigate what happened. Just in case, I left my armor there with one of the deceased demons inside. "

"Oh, I see." Alisa said with an incredulous expression.

"Well, let's start walking towards the city now shall we?"

"Yes!"

...

While walking Dara became curious about something.

"So~ what were you doing in my home while I confronted the Hero, Alisa?" Dara asked with a curious tone.

"Uh, I was looking, you know? haha." Alisa nervously laughed.

"Hehe, you can tell the truth. Remember, I made a promise."

"O-okay!" Alisa said with a trembling voice.

After a long pause, Alisa looked like she was going to talk.

"I... I was exiled from the village after my father passed away. He was a renowned adventurer in the village, responsible for hunting monsters and animals to ensure the safety and food supply of the village. He always returned home at night, but..." Alisa paused her speech for a moment, perhaps contemplating how to proceed with the story.

"It's okay if you take your time, you don't need to tell me now. Just tell me when you are ready." Dara said putting her hand on Alisa's shoulder with a smile and a reassuring tone.

"No, it's okay, if I don't say it now I don't think I ever will." She faintly smiled back at Dara but with a grim look on her face.

She took another pause to regain her composure, but it seemed difficult.

"One night, he didn't come back." She started sweating cold as if reliving that same horrible experience.

"Worried that something might have happened to him, I left the house and went to the village to inquire if anyone had seen him. When I arrived at the village, I went directly to the chief's house." Shivers went down her spine, and her expression was looking worse and worse. Dara was walking silently, just listening.

When I entered the house, I saw my father and the chief lying on the ground. Before I could realize anything, someone covered my eyes, and for a moment, I thought I heard my father scream..."

She paused again, but this time she remained silent for a longer period as if mustering the courage and organizing her thoughts on the matter.

"Later, I was told that my father had murdered the village chief. The hand that had covered my eyes, and likely taken my father's life, belonged to the Hero. The village wanted to condemn someone for the assassination of the chief, and they chose me, as I was the only one still alive in my family. After that, I started wandering in the forest. After a couple of days, of surviving off edible mushrooms and plants and sleeping on top of trees, I came across the Hero, I tried following him for a few days and saw him enter this castle, slaying demons as he came by. I don't know why I followed him into the castle, maybe a desire rushed over me, but I just did." said Alisa walking slowly and trembling a little with a little better expression, as she finally said all that she wanted to say to someone.

"..." Dara remained silent and simply gazed at the sky.

"What is the name of the city we are going to?" asked Dara, trying to change the topic.

"I think it's called Myorn City, which is the largest city in the east."

"If you knew the way to the city, why didn't you go there?"

"Oh, that's because you need to have an identification card. I didn't get mine yet because I lived in a small village, so I needed someone to accompany me to the city to get my identification."

"Okay, so you don't have an ID, correct?"

"Yeah."

"So, how are we going to get in?"

"..." Alisa froze in embarrassment. Maybe all the things that were happening so quickly made her forget. "I forgot about that."

"Hahaha, it's okay. I'm going to come up with a plan so we can enter the city." Dara already said it, with something in mind.

...

After two days of traveling, they could already see the city walls, even though they were still a bit far away.

"Okay, I think this distance is good." said Dara looking at the walls.

"Eh? Good for what?" Alisa said while looking at Dara and the miniature city walls.

Then Alisa felt a rush of wind. When she looked at Dara, she was mesmerized by the unfolding scene before her. Dara's black hair swayed in the wind, it looked like Dara was speaking something, but Alisa couldn't hear any sound coming from her mouth. Suddenly, as the wind grew stronger, Dara turned to Alisa and said.

"Now, give me your hand."

As Alisa reached out her hand to Dara, Dara grabbed it, and they both began to float. At first, they only rose a few meters, maybe one or two, but after a couple of minutes, they could already see the entire city. Surprisingly, Alisa did not show any signs of fear when she was already that high up. She was surprised by herself, but perhaps after spending those days with Dara, she had developed enough trust in her to not feel afraid when near her.

"We are going to the city by flying, and to avoid getting caught, I'm going to use an invisibility spell for now, okay?"

Alisa nodded in agreement. Once again, Dara began moving her mouth, but no sound would come out of her mouth. And then something appeared above their heads: a magic circle. Magic circles were a common occurrence among the nobility, but for Alisa, it was something new. It began lowering slowly, passing through them as if it were a scanner. When the circle reached Alisa's foot, it quickly shot back up before disappearing into the air.

"Let's rush in now." said Dara.

Alisa could not see Dara, but she could feel her hand. They reached the city in just a couple of minutes and entered without any problems. Soon, they started to reappear.

"Now, let's look for an inn to stay at, shall we?" asked Dara with a gentle smile on her face.

"Yes!" responded Alisa, looking at Dara with a bright smile.
