Chapter 1 - Who are you?

Among the windy trees swaying left and right, a young, beautiful girl with horns as blue as lapis lazuli walks off the beaten path, led by her giant, snow-furred wolf, nudging her hand toward denser shrubbery and trees.

"What is wrong, dear Misha? Is there something you want to show me?" Says the sweet and gentle girl as she walks cautiously, with the wind chilling her whole body. "Venturing out this late… I'd prefer to be in the safety of my home at this hour…"

Then, she stepped on something wet; she looked down and shivered at the sight of blood trails. She grew a worried expression. A monster? An animal? Whatever it is, it's hurt. She was brave enough to keep going, knowing Misha was by her side. Though that feeling of safety suddenly turned into Misha whimpering, shaking her tail hysterically in front of the bush where the blood trails stopped. The bush stood tall, almost above the height of her horns. She looked around and tried to listen to see if there was anything in the surroundings, but to no avail. She took a deep breath and rustled through, and to her surprise—a blood trail led her towards a man, slumped against the tree.

Long black hair, long pointy ears, and a long–or rather, tall, or even large—heavily armored man; they're all longer than my own very ears. She observed.

As she traced the man from top to bottom, she noticed that he was the reason for the trail that led Misha and her here. Overcome with empathy towards the person she just met, she approached the man, eyes closed and in a battered state. As she reached out her hand to help the man, a hand seized her wrist and—

"Who are you?! Are-are you with the demons?!" A panicked yet fierce voice left the man's mouth, gritting his teeth, but his eyes stayed closed, weak and tired. The girl gasped and backed away, but the man's grip held on and pulled her closely towards his level. Her eyes stayed on his face, then his closed eyes, to his chiseled cheeks, finally his black beard and mustache. A short moment passed after realizing that the man was still bleeding badly. She stammered,"I don't know anything about a demon. My wolf, Misha, led me to you." He squeezed her wrist, causing the girl to whimper and the wolf to growl, ready to pounce.

The man's ears started twitching as he checked the girl's pulse to learn that she spoke the truth. Feeling safe from harm, the man let her go. The girl landed on her behind as the wolf cooed beside her whilst still growling, wary of whatever the man was going to do. Though it may seem like the man was using all his energy to keep himself safe. The girl noticed the man's eyes opening up and saw how bloodshot they were. "Sir? Can you see at all?" She waved his hand in front of him, concerned about his state. She went closer to him, and the man's cheeks felt a soft and smooth hand caressing his face as she looked for any other injuries on his head or neck.

"I… I cannot…"

"Save your breath, sir."

"See… Cannot… See…" He mustered all his strength, completing his sentence as he coughed up blood, his body trembling until he lost balance and slid to the side. Luckily, the girl caught him as his face rested between her large, soft chest.

This feels nice. Are these her…? His hand instinctively reached towards that feeling, only to be greeted by a sudden noise from the girl, blushing at what just happened.

Immediately retracts his hand.

"I–I apologize…" His nose bled. "If you could be of assistance, then I'll be glad to accept it. For there is so much for me to experience in this world."

The girl's lips slightly curled upward. Her hands caressed his face. "My name is Kaida. What's yours?"

"Fi…rion…"

And then he went silent.

"MISHA LETS HURRY!"

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wounded man was carried by Misha towards a cave which Kaida calls home. She took a great deal of time taking off Firion's armor to treat his injuries. She was clumsy at worst, slipping her grip from the arm braces, and at best careful to make sure she didn't drop Firion's arm without injuring him further. Upon first glance, the wound was deep enough that it went through his stomach. Kaida mustered all her strength to not look away and vomit, but she kept herself composed, and bandaged the man's wounds.

Kaida managed to stop the bleeding. She sat beside her bed as Firion breathed heavily as he occupied it. His skin started to regain color as he rested soundly. Worried about his condition deteriorating, the tired Kaida chose to keep watch on Firion to see if there was any difference in his condition. Though hauling a large man and taking care of his wounds has caused her to drift in and out of sleep. And then that fatigue finally got the better of Kaida, her head slowly nodding until it fell on the side of the bed. This caused Firion to wake up, however, albeit with lingering pain from his wounds.

He looked aimlessly around the room: a rather spacious room with walls made of dirt and rock, yet it doesn't smell like they're underground; rather, a pleasant lavender scent persists in the room. It's also quite a clean room, with the kitchen on the left and the wardrobe on the right side of the room. His sightless gaze then led to his right side, where Kaida rests her head.

He is grateful for her, though he wondered who this girl was, living with a wolf. He reached out to her head and started caressing very gently. What a delicate flower.

He kept rubbing his hand until he felt a large and hard appendage on the side of her head. Alarmed, he retracted his hand as he felt deceived. How?! She told me she wasn't one of them… How have my ears not sensed it? Judging by the horns, he quickly realized that she must be a member of the blue horn demon clan, or the dragon tribe as they call themselves.

He gritted his teeth, remembering a memory from long ago.

Through adrenaline, he quickly stood up and grabbed Kaida by the neck, then pinned her on the bed, which sent her into a screaming panic.

She tried to squeal, but her mouth was covered by his large rough hands. Firion's eyes were furious.

She desperately tried to pull his hand off, but even with his injuries, the raw strength was too much. She cried as she had no idea what was going on.

"You fiend!" He snarled. "Why in the hell are you helping an elf?!"

Mumbling, Kaida shook her head and was focused on trying to release herself from his grasp.

Then it suddenly hit Firion: a young maiden being pinned down when she saved his life. Though now that he showed hostility towards her, he thought about what she was going to do after he let her go.

BAM! The door suddenly opened, and what came was Misha rushing towards Kaida as the wolf bit the Firion's arm off. She then collapsed off the bed, gasping for air. She then looked up and saw Misha mauling elf's arm. Firion tried his best to restrain the wolf grip on his arm, but she was refused to release her jaws!

Kaida stood up and commanded Misha to "STOP THIS AT ONCE!"
