CHAPTER START---
"Fairy Sphere!"
A perfect sphere of golden Magic Energy forms around everyone, giving them a few meters of breathing room, and upon the formatting of a large Fairy Tail Emblem at the front, identical to the marking on Oberon's right shoulder, they finally take a breath of relief.
Oberon wipes the sweat from his forehead, turning to look at everyone's horrified and amazed faces. "That'll do. It should last long enough for Master Makarov to recover, at least."
Gildarts smiles down at the boy, looking at his own hand and not feeling any strange sensations through it. "I thought that spell required you to connect with one of us?"
"It's not that kind of connection," Oberon says.
And the Rune Knights are stunned silent, as not only do they have confirmation that another Ultimate Fairy Magic Exists, and a child has two of them, but neither Gildarts, Oberon, or Laxus react when the wave of death crashes into the Fairy Sphere behind them.
The barrier doesn't even shake, but the terrifying sight of death swarming outside and surrounding it from all sides still has people gasping and whimpering. Some turned to faith, praying to be saved, others turned to Oberon, finding faith in the person in front of them.
"Hey, smoke man, how did he know that would work?" One of the captured Wizards asks Wakaba. "How'd you know he could do this?"
As everyone silently holds their breath, most of the people listen in as Wakaba turns to the man, looking at him as if he'd said the most idiotic thing in the world. "Because he's Oberon, this is what he does…"
Wakaba didn't know it at the time, not giving much thoughts to his words amidst this worrying situation, but this one statement would have an unfathomable effect on Oberon, and by extension, the entire world.
"I wish I could use this more," Oberon says while studying his own Fairy Sphere. "But it's probably for the best that I don't satisfy the conditions often…"
He looks down at the still glowing mark on his right shoulder, silently thanking Mavis for access to this Magic.
After he unveiled Fairy Glitter, bringing it out of the realm of myths, and into reality, as a legendary Magic. Many people have theorised about the equally fabled two companion Magics. When asked during his many interviews for Sorcerer Weekly, the most Oberon ever says is that 'Fairy Glitter is the most simple Fairy Magic'.
A true statement, but absurdly terrifying when considering that it is known as the ultimate in annihilation Magic, and the Magic Council used it as the basis for the most powerful Magic Weapon in the world.
Satellite Square: Etherion, a weapon that can suppress the war desire of entire continents by existing. However, Oberon's words are absolute fact.
Fairy Glitter requires simple prerequisites. Vast Magic Energy, a deep understanding of the Magic, learning the Magic, and like all Fairy Magics, it has a hidden requirement of understanding the consequences of its use.
If the user is not in the right state of mind to truly desire the destruction of their target, or is not using the Magic in a way Mavis Vermillion would approve, it will fail. Because of this, these Magics can never be used for evil or against Fairy Tail.
Fairy Sphere is far more complex, as it is the only 'True Barrier' in existence. It bends reality itself to protect from all phenomena, natural or magical. And at the highest levels, it can even protect from the passage of time and collapse of space.
However, while it boasts all the requirements of Fairy Glitter aside from desiring destruction, it has a hidden defensive condition.
It can never be used if the user only desires to protect themselves with its use. You must be protecting other members of Fairy Tail. This is why Oberon learned Fairy Glitter first. Because on Jobs he has no team, thus he would never be able to use Fairy Sphere.
Magic is, simply put, 'Willpower X Life Force X Emotion', and Fairy Sphere relies more on the emotions of the user than anything else.
However, it, along with Fairy Glitter, will always be overshadowed in the future, but the third Fairy Magic.
Makarov glows bright gold as he floats into the air, maintaining his seated position while gathering his Magic Energy in front of his chest.
Within the Fairy Sphere, everyone looks at him in amazement, feeling the complexity of this Spell as his Magic Energy radiates outward.
Zeref's monster also grows weary of him, unable to sense him through the Fairy Sphere, but recognizing the danger he can become. It rapidly retracts back to the fortress and condenses to the size of a carriage, focusing the Magic Energy it gathered from both Wizard Saints into a concentrated sphere.
"That can't be good," Gildarts mutters. "This will maintain, right?"
Oberon shrugs as they all watch the Magic Energy bomb hurtle through the base, melting everything around while moving toward them. "How would I know, I've never used it before."
Gildarts sighs as the bomb slams into the Fairy Sphere, detonating in an explosion of green and gold Magic Energy. Within the sphere, they're completely unbothered by the explosion, unable to even hear it from inside.
The sphere is shrouded in smoke and dust for a moment, and when it clears, they see great molten plains around them.
"By the gods," Laxus mutters, staring at where the mountains used to be, at what was a valley just one hour ago. They were now floating within Fairy Sphere, above a canyon of molten rock that formed below and around them from the explosion.
Even the skies had been cleared of the Cataclysm, but before anyone could be fully amazed by this feat, Makarov opened his eyes. Both eyes boast a Magic Circle, golden, with the Fairy Tail Emblem in the middle. Allowing him to peer through everything his Magic Energy touches while casting the Spell.
Oberon drops the Fairy Sphere, and uses Gravity Magic to keep the piece of earth they're on afloat. Immense heat hits everyone along with the scent of toxic fumes from incinerated stone and dirt.
But Makarov then finishes the simple chant. "I invoke, Fairy Law!"
A massive golden Magic Circle appears above the entire battlefield, covering from their location to where the monster was reforming to where the fortress was, boasting the Fairy Tail Emblem in the middle.
Blinding golden light radiates outward for a few seconds, overwhelming everyone but Oberon, and when they open their eyes, there is a smoldering pile of black ichor where the massive monster was.
The body then crumbles to dust and blows away, insignificant in the presence of the most powerful of all Fairy Magics.
Gildarts scans the now nervous and relieved crowd, noticing that none of the enemy Wizards were affected by the Spell. "Still a big softie, huh, Master?"
Makarov smiles at his Ace while descending toward the man, standing between he and Laxus. He turns to the crowd and sighs. "Hopefully the Magic Council can find a use for this bunch. Misguided, but undoubtable talented."
"Is it over?" Laxus asks.
"That's really up to them," Makarov says. "Fairy Law is the ultimate judgement Spell. It burns away the life force of anyone the user sees as a true enemy. You were all spared by it, because you've already lost your Guildmaster, and I'd rather not kill an entire Guild. Take this as a sign that I truly don't want this battle to continue, so please, I beg your surrender…"
There is a tense silence, not because any of the Wizards wanted to keep fighting, but because they were unsure if they were allowed to speak. Looking at Wizard Saint Makarov Dreyar, Gildarts, and Oberon, they had no desire to fight, especially not after such Magics were displayed.
Eventually, one man nudges the person beside him, a slightly less injured guildmember. "We surrender?" The man asks.
Makarov nods. "Well, that's good enough for me. Now let's get the heck out of here!"
While the Rune Knights place Magic Binding Cuffs on the captured Wizards, Oberon can't help but look at his right arm. From the Fairy Tail Guildmark on the inner right forearm, to the Fairy Law marking wrapping around it, and the smaller Fairy Sphere emblem on his right shoulder.
He can't help but look at the space between them, his bare bicep, and a smile creeps onto his face as he recalls Fairy Law. 'I wonder what that one will look like…'
