Xaviera Evans, without raising her head, responded, "Mr. Novak, you seem to know yourself well. This book in my hand was stolen by you from my grandfather's Collection Court. At least, Caleb Mamet would never do such a thing."
Her words hit Willie Novak's rage. He glared at her furiously, as if he wanted to burn her to ashes.
He seized her wrist and pushed her down on the bed, pinning her down relentlessly.
The shock was written all over Xaviera's face. The man before her was radiating coldness, his look full of turmoil. She knew it was a signal of danger.
"Let go of me! Willie Novak!" Xaviera turned her face away, commanding him coldly.
Willie Novak gasped, his eyes growing hotter as they feasted on the sight of Xaviera's pale skin exposed due to her struggle. His voice turned hoarse, "Since you called me a treacherous man, I might as well fulfill your expectation!"
After saying that, Willie Novak bent down, kissed her cheek and continued downwards.
