Willie Novak seemed a bit surprised. After all, it was the powerful Brooke family. He had barely assumed the position of the heir when the head of the Brooke family favoured Caleb Mamet, even cleared obstacles for him. How could Caleb not be interested?
Caleb saw his astonishment and a chill appeared in his eyes. "You should know that the people trying to kill Xaviera were sent by the Brooke family. Do you think I could possibly cooperate with those who hurt her?"
Willie narrowed his eyes, staring straight at Caleb. Was he willing to relinquish the immense power of the Brooke family just because of Xaviera Evans?
After a long silence, Willie laughed casually. "No wonder Xaviera likes you. You are indeed more qualified to be with her than me."
Following this, an assistant carried a document to Caleb. "Mr. Mamet, if you sign this, you and the Brooke family will be detached from now onwards."
