She continued to stare him down silently, the tension in the air still thick as ever that even a knife could cut through it. She finally broke the silence, "What do you mean by you wish to help us? Is it not your parents that wish to sell us for so little?"

"Little? Princess, forty silver is enough for any average commoner that use the same currency to live life comfortably for a very long time. And you call that little, you must have been very well off", he said with a small smirk while looking her over, his ink black eyes seemed to see through her like glass.

She wanted to bite her tongue for letting her guard down so much, she looked away from him and said, "I don't know what you're talking about, you're just overthinking things"

"Overthinking? People tend to tell me that a lot", he said wistfully, his eyes looking up at the ceiling dazed before falling back on her.
