She invited Alfonso, partly to test things out, and partly to repay him for the meal and concert he'd taken her to last time.

After Charlotte finished delivering the letters and left, a young man clapped his hands, "Leader, impressive, truly impressive, who would have thought."
"Saying I've caught her is too early." Alfonso shook his head, "Her attitude towards me is no different than anyone else."
"But at least she agreed to your invitation," the young man said, "and now she's inviting you back, she definitely sees you differently from others."
"The last date was pleasant," Alfonso thought for a moment, "though her cousin is very strict. He insisted she must be home by eight, and I had other activities planned for later."
"Cousin?" The young man was puzzled, "What about her other family members? How come it's her cousin overseeing her?"
Alfonso still shook his head and sighed, "Couldn't find anything out."
