Bella Scott shook off Edward Anderson's hand.
Fearing that Edward wouldn't leave, she hastily ran into the house.
"Bella, goodnight," Edward called to Bella's retreating figure.
He wondered if she heard him, given how quickly she ran off.
"Goodnight. Drive slowly, and send me a message when you get home," Bella, of course, had heard him. She waved her hand and closed the front door.
Edward was somewhat reluctant to leave; he stood there for about ten minutes before driving away.
Bella hadn't gone far; she listened intently, only opening the door to peek out after Edward's car had driven off into the distance.
Watching Edward's car disappear into the night, she pursed her lips and smiled before returning to her room to rest.
After she finished her shower, Edward had also reached home and sent her a message.
