Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

After I had found out where Opal is, all 3 of us decided to pack everything we could possibly

need, and embarked on our journey. The journey was very uneventful so after day one we

decided to stay at an Inn of the closest town we could find.

"I've had enough of your attitude, Don!" I shouted in frustration, my voice echoing through the

Inn we were staying at. The tension between Don and me had been building for some time now,

and it had reached its breaking point. As chosen heroes, we had embarked on a journey to find

Opal the dragon girl of darkness, since we had found out where she was, but our search for

Opal and the last two heroes had proven fruitless. While Leon and I had embraced the idea of

fusing with our partners, Don had stubbornly clung to his arrogant and superior demeanor.

Taking a moment to gather my thoughts, eventually I decide that I've had enough of Don's

behavior and decided to challenge him, so we decide to move far away from the Inn and the

town so as to not hurt anyone. This was not a friendly spar; it was a serious fight, a clash of

wills. I assumed my stance, ready to teach Don a lesson and, perhaps, make him reconsider his

ways.

The battle that ensued was long and grueling. Blow after blow, we exchanged strikes, each one

fueled by our determination to prove our point. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Don lays

on the ground, panting heavily and visibly beaten. Standing over him, I couldn't help but feel a

mix of triumph and frustration.

"Maybe now you'll consider working with us and drop the superiority act! It's not fitting for

someone with the water element. I could understand if I acted that way, but not you," I said,

turning away from him, my voice filled with a mixture of disappointment and hope.

As I turned, I sensed Don's desperation. In a last-ditch effort to regain control, he attempted to

attack me from behind with a club. Instinctively, I ducked and swiftly countered, landing a blow

that left him dazed but not defeated. Don's companion Coral is summoned, and helps him

recover "Master, are you okay" Coral says with concern "Yes, I'm fine, just frustrated I couldn't

beat him" Don says with a look of anger on his face. "Master, maybe you could attempt to treat

your allies differently the element of water does require calmness after all" Coral says "Water is

calm I agree with that but it can also kill it's not always calm, so don't tell me to be calm just

because of some element"

As the echoes of the battle faded into the ether, I reached out and put my hand on my necklace,

feeling its weight and significance while it's on my neck. With a sense of purpose and

determination, I allow its presence to serve as a tangible reminder of the trials and tribulations

that had brought me to this moment. Settling myself onto a nearby seat, I sought solace in the

stillness, attempting to end this storm of anger that raged within the depths of my being. Yet,

despite my best efforts, the flames of fury continued to flicker and dance, refusing to be

extinguished. It was in this fragile state of emotional disturbance that I was startled by the

unexpected intrusion of Furah's voice, resonating within my mind. The surprise of her

suggestion reverberated through my consciousness, momentarily diverting my attention from

the sea of emotions that threatened to consume me.

"I can sense your anger, master. Why don't we take a bath together?" she proposed.

The proposition caught me off guard, but considering Furah had already revealed her true form

to me, I decided not to question it further. Finding a secluded room, I made sure the door was

securely locked before calling Furah. We undressed and stepped into the bath together, the

intimacy of the moment feeling both strange and oddly comforting. As we relaxed in the warm

water, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to inquire about something that had been on

my mind.

"Why don't I hear the companions of the other heroes? I understand that you made sure I

couldn't hear Terra, but shouldn't I also be hearing Coral and Opal?" I asked, my voice filled with

genuine curiosity.

Furah smiled warmly, her eyes reflecting a deep understanding. "It's because we can transfer

skills and abilities," she explained. "When Terra and I ensured that you only heard my voice, the

others learned to do the same when we retrieved them."

Her explanation resonated with me, and I nodded in acknowledgment. The complexities of our

bond continued to unfold, revealing new layers of interconnectedness. As the conversation

came to a close, Furah leaned in and kissed me deeply, a moment of shared intimacy that left

me feeling both vulnerable and alive. Eventually, we both got out of the bath, dressed, and

returned to our respective roles.

Leaving the room, I couldn't help but notice that something seemed different about Don.

However, I didn't have the luxury of dwelling on it, so we decided to continue towards the

location of Opal. Working together seamlessly, our group fought off demons and powerful foes,

our collective strength growing with each battle, until we finally reached the next town, but when

we entered it seemed to have a certain aura of despair, but nonetheless we decided to head to

Inn and get some rooms since it was getting dark.

Once we got our room keys the Innkeeper looked at us and said with visible concern and fear

"try to stay in your rooms and do not unlock the windows for any reason, night time is quite…

dangerous around here". We realized that the aura of despair we felt wasn't just in our heads,

but there was definitely something wrong with this town.

Once we got up to our rooms Leon, Don, and I met in my room and started to discuss what we

should do about this town's very obvious issue.
